Ok here are the current heads of departments, none of them have been confirmed for next season, if you wish to hire them do so as soon as possible as around mid season the AI will start signing department heads.

Lola will sign Gustav Brunner as Designer, Paola Catone as Engineer (seeing as Gauthier have already sacked him) and will try to hire Jim Vale for mechanics for the 1999 season.

Also, put the development of the 1999 car back at 97%. Why does Lola always have trouble building cars for next year? We will also attempt to hire more workers. Way more workers! :twisted:

When we are talking about testing, the Champions' team would like to stay at wherever the next race is for the days after the race, trying to improve Villeneuve's and Kanaan's driving skills and having Prost find some performance in our car. Maybe test a few pit stops if we have the time for that.

Negline refused a single year deal but would be open for a multi year deal (2 years should be fine).
As for testing, you may not test at the grounds of the next race, considering it is at Monaco.

None of the department chiefs you contacted are willing to do a single season deal, but will sign if offered long term contracts.
How much more staff roughly? 10 excellent assistants in each department?

All 3 of you tried other teams for crew and for different reasons they all refused, welcome to the awkward GPM2 contract system!

Shadaza: Get me as many employees (assistants) as you can get. 10 in each would do fine, 20 would be better. Also, try to get more sponsors if you can. And how long does each department head want?

Two years may be fine, but I for my part will go for three. Well, of course testing in Monaco would be kind of silly. Therefore we shall test ... in Mexico. With hookers. And Tequila. But mostly hookers.

Minardi's plans before Monaco:

Minardi would like to test at Imola with all three drivers. Any other teams are welcome to join in. The schedule is as follows:

Trulli: Car performance
Kristensen: Car improvements
Tuero: Driver performance

We'd also like to hire one additional exceptional staff member for each area if possible.

Sauber are happy with their engineer,but they want to try and sign Adrian Newey for designer and Mechanic Ain-Cowlinshaw from Benetton.

Amazingly Newey signed for a one year deal and Alogoet is down for another year as engineer. Cowlinshaw was a little more stubborn and wishes for discussions to continue after the next race and he will need a multi year deal.

With Newey moving to Sauber, Leo Ress is avaliable. As the highest rated designer that won't reject Gauthier, Gauthier sign him (You said you wanted 4 star, the only 4 star guy rejected you so 3.5 star Ress is the next best option.)

Minardi hit the jackpot on this run, they now understand their car much better and all 3 drivers improved by around a second.
Trulli found a couple of improvements, however his day was delayed a little when repairs had to be made to his car following Estoril, his steering system failed after 1 testing lap, it is a miracle he finished in Portugal at all.
TK likes the way the car is going and the improvements showed.
Esteban Tuero did not improve his driving, however to be only 0.5 seconds behind Kristensen is nothing to be embarrassed about.

Nissan want Coulthard as their reserve driver however Coulthard and his agent are yet to agree to this and could still test for Lola if they wish too, until this contract uncertainty is dealt with I will delay testing Lola.

We'll allow Coulthard to test for Lola. We'll decide on the contract offer from Nissan before the next race. We'll look at other offers from other teams as well. The deadline though is the next race.

Fittipaldi believes updates are working
Coulthard could not find anymore speed in the car.
Al Unser believes more work needs to be done on airbox, otherwise nothing.
Jan Magnussen still tired after testing, but morale is high.
Luciano Burti could not find anymore speed in the car.

Not the greatest of sessions for Lola, the team seems to have peaked a little considering Coulthard, Unser jr and Burti between them did not find a single performance gain.

I hired staff up to 25 excellent staff in each department, 75 in total plus department heads (so 78). This puts Lola as around level with Jordan and Gauthier on staff and just behind the big 3 of Ferrari-Williams-Benetton and the rapidly expanding Chevrolet team.

Can I submit my team for 1999 please called lomas with jenson button and Juan Pablo montoya driving and we shall offer Leo reiss a 15% pay rise for him to join and can I please have Nissan engines please

GPM2 has only 13 team slots, and one of them has to be used as the "placeholder" to make the game work properly. So you can join only if one of the current team owners quit, I'm afraid.

However I plan on running a sort of sequel to "May the Best Manager Win". It will be a GPM2 championship designed for just a single season where all driver aids and parts will become legal and the season will be a mad arms race where stealing from rivals will be common, it all depends if interest is high enough.

Or you could leave it to the Ai manager to sign staff, as sometimes they end up working miracles. Or maybe higher rated staff would be more inclined to join you after waiting a while, it would be risky though. I have added the extra staff. Panis and Moore agree to drive in 1999.

Monaco Qualifying and it's a surprise first pole position for Ralf Schumacher and the Chevrolet team. Ferrari come in 2nd and 3rd ahead of Irvine whilst Damon Hill lines up a superb 5th place under new Honda power. The Champions team have qualified a better 6th and 7th place. It has been a poor session for Williams (With Collard ahead of Montoya!) Verstappen and Sauber, whilst Nissan must be dissapointed to be so far down here in Monaco.

At the half way point of the season, the next 2 rounds after Monaco are Montreal and Indianapolis. So after that is a good time for engine upgrades.

Ralf Schumacher wins hard fought Monaco Grand Prix.

Ralf Schumacher drove to a fantastic unexpected first win after battling first with Damon Hill and then Michael Schumacher, Ralf drove a steady race and at one stage had a near minute lead on the rest of the field, however Damon Hill prevented a lights to flag victory, the Arrows Honda was mega fast here and running a 3 stop strategy as opposed to a 2 and had the pace to actually overtake Ralf Schumacher with the Brit having one more pit stop to go. Unfortunately the engine spectacularly caught fire and though Damon parked the car and rushed out as quick as possible, he still picked up some major burns and will miss the next 2 races.

This left Michael Schumacher and Eddie Irvine as Ralf's nearest challengers, Irvine had already leap frogged Mika Hakkinen and was heckling Michael Schumacher for nearly 40 laps unable to pass. The battling pair caught Ralf Schumacher within the final 8 laps but could not find away pass meaning the podium 3 finished nose to tail.

Mika Hakkinen ended a somewhat lonely 4th, like Damon Hill, he ran a three stop strategy but was unable to overtake when it mattered so he fell a long way back from the front of the field, yet Hakkinen was a long way ahead of the cars behind him too.

Verstappen, Montoya and Herbert were left to scrap over the minor points, the former two cars were not having that great a day after a poor qualifying effort whilst Johnny Herbert had managed to slice his way in to their mix with fine driving. As cars dropped out ahead the 3 of them made it in to the points with an extra lap squeezed in by Verstappen taking the "victory" being 5th place. Due to high attrition Noberto Fontana managed to take the final point in 8th after what was in reality a weak drive from him, he had only just managed to finish ahead of his team mate Lowndes. Jean Alesi had a poor race.

Jaques Villeneuve was having a strong race for the Champions team, he spent most of the race in 6th place and would have easily secured 5th had he not span off. His strategy was the same as the podium 3 runners but he did not quite have the pace to keep up with them. Greg Moore was right in the thick of the Verstappen/Montoya battle and more then likely would have finished 6th had he not span in to the barriers. The two Jordan cars were in the last 2 places in the race when they both span.

Unser Jr. may have had the pace for 8th place after dueling with Fontana only for him to spin. The big accident of the race involved Unser's team mate Jan Magnussen. Magnussen was quick and looked like a real points threat however in turn 1 he had a comming together with the Williams of Emmanuel Collard. The accident was very heavy and for Collard a painful one as he fractured his wrist, this means Collard will be out for 3 races which is a shame as the Frenchman was beating Montoya around Monaco.

It was a terrible race for Minardi as Trulli jumped the start and Kristensen retired early on. Neither of them had looked particularly quick whilst Alain Prost looked very quick, setting the fastest lap early on that stood as the 3rd fastest time of the day, (fastest lap went to Hill) only the Frenchman also jumped the start and soon retired with a suspension issue.

Join us again in Montreal for round 7 of the championship.
There will be no testing, apart from the Champions Team who managed to reserve testing at Mexico.

Damon Hill is injured for 2 races (Current Reserve driver is Mark Webber)
Emmanuel Collard is injured for 3 races (Current Reserve driver is Jorg Muller)

Barnard is confirmed for another year. The other 2 refused saying your team is not "high profile" enough.
