My thoughts exactly, oh evil overlord. And no, there's absolutely no truth to the rumours that Dagnall and Melrose are planning a surprise visit to the Foxdale after-race party to give the team a piece of their minds :P

EDIT: It's just occurred to me that this is the third race out of three where Vantini has been absolutely decimated by Davies... maybe the hotshot rookie isn't so crash-hot after all :P

Autosport wrote:Jones livid at "sham" MRT title

Following Mark Dagnall's dominant Japanese GP victory yesterday, Sammy Jones has blasted the MRT team for which he recently moved to as being "cheap" and "lucking into both titles". Both Dagnall and MRT were crowned Drivers' and Constrcutors' champions following the race, with closest challengers Castrol Jones Racing now too far behind in the standings to make any impact at the final race of the year in Brazil. Similarly, both Jones drivers Rhys Davies and Rosco Vantini look consigned to finishing second and third in the championship.

"It's a complete sham, this so-called 'victory' for MRT" fumed Jones after the race. "They stole Dagnall from DGN early, and now claim that this drivers' title is theirs. They fail to realise that Dagnall scored the vast majority of his points at DGN and probably would have won the championship for them anyway. By pinching him early MRT have lucked into both titles, and are completely undeserving of them. Their car is fundamentally flawed and I expect that history will teach us this season's conclusion was a fluke result. MRT will disappear back to where they belong from now on. There's no way they'll be able to repeat this kind of 'success' again, Melrose and his chimps couldn't put a bicycle together if they wanted to."

Jones was honest in his assessment of his own team's fortunes at Fuji however,

"We simply weren't good enough out there today. Really we needed a 1-2 finish to have any hope of winning either title, and with the car not as powerful as we'd like, and with not as many retirements as other races, Rhys was consigned to just a minor points finish. Rosco struggled with his car all weekend which is bitterly disappointing and his season has deteriorated quickly in the past few races. I'm hopeful that he'll be able to finish strongly in Brazil however. From here we must concentrate on consolidating our position as runner-up in both championships, something I'm very confident in doing."

And your car isn't better at all. My cars have failed to make the finish on just two occasions all year, whilst your crappy BMW engines may be full of power, but by the looks of things they're full of gunpowder too judging by the amount of time they spend blowing up. Considering we have one of the weaker engines on the grid, we should have been upper midfield at best, but we've used our resources effectively and earned the rewards. It's about time you won a title anyway considering the amount of times you've cocked things up. It's like watching a bunch of clowns perform at the circus looking into the MRT garage.

Yep. I was going to do this between qualifying and the race, but the weekend went by so quickly that I just didn't get round to it! And Pippa being on the podium jst made the whole situation seem.... more apt.

It's an option - if Pippa Mann is not on maternity leave, and Ben Fleet does not decide to also take paternity leave as well in the early stages of next season. ;)

Where racing's concerned, I think it will be more practical to carry on referring to her as Pippa Mann.

The tobacco company had already looked into supporting a F1RWRS in 2013 when it was preparing a cooperation with Castrol Jones Racing until Kay Lon was arrested in China.

"[Tropico GP's] endeavours were touching, it was almost like they had a personal interest in advertising our brand Embassy," Imperial Tobacco CEO Alison Cooper said. According to our sources, the deal is quite favourable for Imperial Tobacco, they are paying significantly less than other sponsors of that magnitude for other F1RWRS teams.

Though I still don't know the answer to the question.

This might just me being a cynic, but something tells me for HRT that feeling isn't mutual.

Rumour has it that a rather interesting discussion about HRT's potential lawsuit against MRT and Jason Hamilton sealed the deal pretty quickly. There was also a new VG Commodore and a crapload of Tropican Rum involved but what effect it had was entirely up for debate.

Schiller to join Autodynamics

Swiss F1RWRS driver Jean-Luc Schiller will drive for Autodynamics in 2016 after accepting their offer despite competing interest from Dofasco. The 28-year-old began this season with Mecha GP before walking out on the Indonesian outfit to join Tropico, achieving a best result of 8th with his new team. Schiller, who has scored one point in his career, will bring valuable Credit Suisse backing to the small Australian team along with his own personal wealth. It is not yet clear whether he will replace Damon Cannon or Miko Fakkinen.
