Who have you hired for next year, btw? It will be interesting to see if you do a better job of driver lineups than Autodynamics did last year.

I see no-one is picking up Spencer for a race drive, so I'm waiting for a contract exenstion to be signed as test and reserve driver at Alitalia. With Collin Pratchett also on our books, we have a very experienced backup in case Mignolet or Koczo have to skip races

My mistake, he's only done one. But seeing as there are two official pre-season tests, he could still get a Superlicense in time for the first round of the year anyway.

Unfortunately not, if it's the same as last year's official test session regulations, its two drivers only.

There is a reason for that, he was awful this year.
And Cannon isn't the worst driver in F1RWRS, he has just always been stuck in shitty cars. Either way he will lose out in Aerond's new driver system which is solely designed to widen the gap between the front and rear of the field.

Well that's just total crap, there was nothing forcing you to take on Cannon for a second year. Nathanael Spencer may have had a bad year last year but he's a former champion with a few seasons of good results to give him good EXP. I am a 'backmarker' and have been for a year and a half now. But next year I should be making a big step up. David Koczo and Ron Mignolet is an experienced pairing. I'll finally have enough money to buy a kick ass engine. My chassis will make do nicely for next season before a replacement is needed in 2017.
Bad teams aren't forced to take shite drivers. Gauthier already has Jesus Plaza for next season despite being brand new to the series. Nicolas Steele was a free agent for a long time before finally being snapped up a couple of days ago. Barii Mori is still without a drive. There are free agents out there any team can pick up that will work well with the new rules. There's nothing wrong with these rules.
You're complaining a bit much. I took a team that had used up its resources to a point the combined assets of the team were worth less than the 1000cr new teams start with. And for 2016 you'll be seeing Alitalia on the podium. If by 2018 you're still stuck way at the back, it means you are doing something wrong.

What it does is clear some of the deadwood that clutters up the series; Cannon being one such example. I'd have taken on one of the top 5 from F2RWRS and found a home for an alright pay-driver. You've got Schiller in that role, the problem is most of the F2 front-runners this season seem to be tied down to another season there. (Kremnicky, Van Nieuwenhuijzen, Lamberigts et al). You could probably get away with using Cannon for another season, but if you want Autodynamics on the up then try and pick up some talent early on for 2017.
If you want to fire Cannon earlier (oh, COME ON!) then...there's always Du Lei.

Doesn't stop people offering contracts though. I said for a long time that Terry Hawkin was open to a move up into an F1RWRS drive, and yet not one single offer came in. Likewise, no-one put in offers for any of the other front-runners with the exception of Kazama. Stramala might want to keep his drivers in F2 for another year, but he might have reconsidered if given a good enough offer. If you don't ask, you don't get.

Actually, that isn't true, Prospec were chasing Bastiaan van Nieuwenhuijzen. But, well, it's Prospec, am I hell letting one of my best talents drive a crapbox like theirs. However, you may be interested to know, if certain clauses are activated, one of my young drivers already has a top drive for 2017...

Now that the season's over, I think it's time for some Reject of the Year nominations:
Douglas Mann - For whatever reason, he spent pretty much all year having his arse handed to him by the fast but wildly inconsistent Martin McFry in the second Foxdale car. By the end, the scoresheet reads 17-3 and 2-0 in the podium stakes to McFry but it could have been a whole lot more for the hotshot rookie, as he was on track for a monster result in Macau. If the second half of 2014 was bad for Douglas, 2015 all but proved that the man should simply hang up the keys and go into full-time team management for 2016.
Holden F1RWRS Racing Team - Oh how the mighty have fallen. From being in contention for podiums and wins in 2013, the General's men have sunk to new lows, having failed to pre-qualify for six of the last eight races. The engine in the back of the car was actually alright if Daniel Melrose's testimony was anything to go by, but the powerplant was let down horribly by a abysmal chassis and apathetic driving from all involved. In the end, one point from 16 races is a horrific result for the team and one doubts that there's any light at the end of the tunnel anytime soon.
Mecha Grand Prix - Unlike most of the new teams from last year, Mecha have made literally no progress at all, with a solitary 9th place at Monaco to show for their efforts. While Dofasco can be excused for having to deal with the laughably poor lump from John Judd's mob and a team owner who had much bigger business interests in Poland to look after, Mecha were seemingly clueless as to how to fix their problems. They kept throwing updates at the car long after it became clear that is was a monumentally big error to do so, they had alienated both their drivers in the off-season, lost one of their replacements during the season, and then got embroiled in yet another driver dispute over Holden refugee Poppy Whitechapel by season's end. If Holden don't look like improving anytime soon, Mecha have no chance at all.
Shinobu Katayama - This time last year, many were expecting a 2015 title push from the young Japanese driver, as she came into the pre-season with a load of confidence and a revitalized team behind her. However, the minute it turned out the new car simply wasn't up to the task, she made sure everybody knew about it, which resulted in her sacking from the team. By season's end and after scoring a pair of fourths with some guest drives for ArrowTech, she had found a new home at Revolution, but it was not enough to arrest the slide her career seems to be in as it doesn't look like any top team will touch her with a 10ft pole within the foreseeable future.
Ron Mignolet - One has to feel sorry for the likable Belgian, as he ended up being just the latest in an ever-increasingly line of drivers who had to play second-fiddle to Mark Dagnall at DGNgineering, and while the start of the year was fine for him with two poles and a 3rd in the Australian leg of the season, he failed to impress after that point, as he slumped to 17th in the championship by year's end, having also failed to achieve much in his four races for ArrowTech. However, with many tipping that his new team for 2016 Scuderia Alitalia will be one to watch next year, almost everyone in the paddock is hoping that 'The Waffler' will get a last hurrah fitting for the driver that everyone knows he can be.
However, there can only be one name on this year's ROTY trophy:
Daniel Melrose - After a very disrupted off-season where he walked away from a Jones Racing contract and had yet another ugly split with a manager, the former World Champion was looking at 2015 as a year where he could rebuild his faltering driving career to be the man everyone knows he can be. However, that idea went to hell the minute he discovered that the Simpson car he was given to wring the neck out of was dead slow and unreliable, sending him off the deep end altogether. While his own team may have walked away with the constructors' title and a multi-year contract with Mark Dagnall, the team boss became a billboard for why bipolar people shouldn't be alcoholic, as it led to many baffling decisions on the team front, and a mid-year switch from Simpson to the equally hapless mob at HRT, with predictable results. He fell out with close friend Rhys Davies in record time, followed with the questionable call to send Phillippe Nicolas to ArrowTech in favour of Kay Lon, probably the only person on the grid even more emotionally-charged than the Mad Uncle in himself, snubbing the ever-impressive German David Neuberg in the process. By season's end, he made guest appearances in both the RoLFS and the IndyCar race in Fontana and while his oval form showed that his IndyCar career looks promising, it was sayonara to his F1RWRS career in the most painful fashion.

Although Melrose could very well win the award, in my opinion the award can only go to HRT. Their fall from grace was not expected and their Pre-Q vortex seems to be unbreakable, at least for the time being. Also, their driver management should not be left out of the nomination, as well as the fact that their car development was brought to naught near the end of the season.
Second place should go to Daniel Melrose, for reasons stated by Wizzie.
Third should go to Saeed Al Faisal, who was utterly incompetent all year. His saving grace was qualifying in that crapbox known as the Simpson. Good riddance.
Note the absense of Dofasco, Simpson, Autodynamics on the list. Thing is though, I kinda expected them to be in Pre-Q...

No nominations for Gillet? They've been crap this year and it's all their own fault for standing still. Same drivers, same car, same everything. If you stand still in F1RWRS, you go backwards.

In fairness, what else was he supposed to do with that car? It was a pile of horses**t he was given. Perhaps he should get ROTY for signing for a crap team when the guy who finished behind him in the championship got a top drive and was one of Dagnall's closest challengers for the title.

Gillet haven't been crap, they've managed to score points quite regularly, they've just been really mediocre.
Now take Sunshine, a top 5 team ends up scrapping for the odd point when they can. Now that's crap!

What do you base that on? Macklin was competitive in PQ against all his teammates, the team at least four times failed to qualify despite Macklin being in the top 3 or 4, something they really didn;t deserve to be doing. Marie Simon was much worse, the Revolution was a car that could have been making main qualifying on a regular basis but she was just plain horrible.
