2014 SEASON CALENDAR -- DRAFT II
1. Tasman GP - Adelaide Street Circuit
2. Australian GP - Bathurst
3. Brazilian GP - Brasilia
4. Mexican GP - Hermanos Rodriguez
5. US GP - Long Beach (77 - classic layout)
6. Monaco GP
7. French GP - Paul Ricard (F1 1990 layout)
8. British GP - Brands Hatch
9. German GP - Norisring
10. Belgian GP - Spa
11. Italian GP - Monza (F1 layout)
12. Mediterranean GP - Akrotiri Bay
13. Northern Sea GP - Zandvoort
14. Macau GP - Macau Guia Circuit
15. Chinese GP - Shanghai International Circuit
16. Japanese GP - Fuji (current layout)
*** Things to look up into the future:
- Expanding the series to 17 races /although I don´t really want to, as I think a season would be too long and you already organise some off-season meetings.
- Probably eliminating French and Mediterranean GPs to expand into more varied circuits - not including as many fast tracks as we have now. We´ve already got rid of some street circuits and for 2014 we´ll have 5, which I think is a fine number.
- The possible inclussion of other historic tracks/events? (remember Gp2´s track lenght is limited to 7.9 Kms.)

Wet races idea:
As I was suggested last year; this 2014 season there´ll be a number of Wet Races. As Gp2 doesn´t have Wet Races itself, this is done by simply reducing the amount of grip by an external app. i.e. --> There´s no change in the performance of the cars or Wet graphics, but just a grip reduction of the track.
I´ve been thinking in a formula to "recreate" the randomness of a Wet Race in terms of performance. What If, for a Wet Weekend (yes, it has to be the whole weekend), I randomize a Power reduction on every team between 0 and 120 Bhp? This will be randomized again for every Wet Weekend we have. I will announce if an upcoming race is Wet a few days before. If you have any ideas on how to make this in any other way or to improve it, just let me know, or simply let me know what you think of it.
Note: There´ll be from 2 to 4 wet weekends during the season.

Isn't that power reduction window too big, creating a large difference between the teams for a whole weekend?
Also, it is said that a wet track is the great equalizer between cars, so how about calculating a power average between the whole grid and then reduce 50% the power advantage of those teams that surpass this average? For instance, team A has 700bhp and team B only has 600. the average gives 650 which gives team A a power advantage of 50bhp over the average. So we take 50% from this advantage team A has, placing them at 675 while team B stays in 600. In a wet race a McLaren will always be faster than a Force India, only less so due to a reduction of aerodynamics influence in the race. Aero being the primary reason for McLaren's advantage in the first place.

I agree, nobody needs France. If I am allowed to I would like to divert your attention to Wunstorf - a German airport track; not because I actually want a second German track, but because it would be outrageous fun since the AI tends to go derpy on the pitlane entry sometimes. Yeah, the jam thing is cool.
We could also switch the Brazilian GP to Rio and putting the track in Slot 1. We could get something similar to that Zakspeed 1-2 I got in Dagnall career.

Yeah, but some drivers behave better than others in wet conditions, so this doesn´t completely solve our problem. Maybe doing what you say + giving a random variation over driver qualifying and race performance for drivers (plus or minus 500 points - 500 points being aproximately a 1.20% of a laptime)??

I agree. We can go with that as it seems to be a good solution. We can also adjust the reduction percentage if 50% reveals itself to be either too much or too little...

Here are the *.jam files
http://www.load.to/692RaHsHZx/itsrainingmen.zipThe "sun" one is simply the original file. You might want to test every track, because some user-made GP2 tracks have seperate files for the sky, so this might not work for some. This is what these rain clouds look like in the game.
![Image](http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/1490/gp2001h.png)
Adding wet tarmac is possible but won't be too easy because user-made tracks have, even more so than custom skies, own tarmac files which would reduce the number of events that could be properly wet significantly.
As far as the wet performance goes, I'd simply say: take 5000 points of every driver's grip and then add again a random value of 0-500 points. The cars itself don't get slower in rain, they just have less grip and an adjusted setup.

I also support the wet races idea, although I will admit Melrose can be either incredibly quick or a massive accident waiting to happen when it starts to rain (Hungary 2007 is a classic case of both

It's obvious why you can't make Martins a pay driver, if you did then I'd just go out and make Sammy Jones one too, as I'm sure everyone else would, and gain the credits from it, completely negating the point of pay drivers.

It says it in the 2013 rules and it hasn´t changed... Let´s see, Pay Drivers have their own random stats, which can even be better than those of a Race Driver, and these stats are locked and can´t be changed. A real driver doesn´t change his abilities year to year (a driver can improve over them -that´s what developments credits are for-, or can have a bad year -that´s what the high Inconsistency is there for-), and, to add to this, Martins has already invested credits in him. The only thing is that a Pay Driver can become a Race Driver by scoring 10 points or more within a season, but there´s no other way around because it would be simply idiotic.

Simpson worried about this season's prospects
Dave Simpson is quite worried about the fortunes of the Prospec team, which was recently acquired by the Pemberton Group. Simpson has recently reported to have said "The team are lacking sponsors, and we're simply going into the season with performance upgrades to an uncompetitive car. Hopefully the high attrition rate that we saw in the first few races of last season will return, otherwise we'll be mired in Pre-qualifying." A spokesperson for the team said "Prospec remain the most successful team in F1RWRS, with two constructors championships and a Drivers championship. Our driver line-up is the most experienced on the grid, with both Gary and Dave competing in the series from the first ever race. We're sure that the team will improve over the following season, hopefully back to the heights of the 2010 and 2011 seasons."
