Surely RML would be the best bet considering they ran the Chevys in WTCC?

At least the Quali nonsense meant that less got said about another 2 wins for the most boring racing car in existence.

Sears Point isn't particularly awful, but there are definitely better tracks on the calendar

So, BMW have announced that they intend to completely withdraw their support for the privately entered customer cars in the WTCC at the end of this year because of the new regulations that kick in for 2014. BMW have already said that their current 1.6L production derived engine is reaching the limits of its performance (and commercially the program is becoming increasingly unattractive to BMW), and their expectation is that the sharp increase in power - they seem to believe that the power outputs will be around 400bhp from 2014 onwards - is beyond what they can achieve with their existing engines. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/107886

The WTCC will end up dying in a few years time if they continue on like this, which is surprising considering the popularity of the BTCC and other series. Is the WTCC significantly more expensive to run cars in than national series?

I think Neate is spending as much as possible savouring the moment because he knows that the pristine condition of the car won't last. Nice looking car too, by the way.

BMW will pull out, but there are at least two other manufacturers in the picture, so I wouldn't call it quits on WTCC.

I suppose the only thing that's significantly cost-increasing is the logistics. Especially given that now WTCC has not one, but two overseas rounds.

Rejectful antics for race 1 of WTCC.

A JCB-like vehicle broke down on the runoff at turn one forcing a red flag and a then yellows at the corner. Turn 1 is the best overtaking spot on the track.

Great Win by Jason Plato and a fantastic 1-2 for MG just confirming that the MG loves Oulton Park and that they were right in getting rid of the dead weight that was Andy Neate. I think MG could have finished 2nd in the teams title in 2012 with a more competent 2nd driver

Two laps in, and I think we can safely say Race 2 is PLATOWINSLOL.

Cor lumme, how brilliant was Race 3 just now!?. Chaos and drama. Massive fight for the podium and the lead, Plato's MG catches fire, Shedden gets damaged in the thick of it, Neal nearly rolled his Honda trying to pass Jordan and Turkington at the same time, and the Pirtek cars nearly took each other out whilst running 1-2.

A great win for Andrew Jordan at the end of it all. Rob Austin's team finished 5th and 6th, a fantastic result for them.

I felt really bad for Jeff Smith who had done everything right up until his lairy moments. I wonder if he's lost some of the nerve that took him to a podium at Knockhill last season. It was his teammate behind him so he didn't need to throw it needlessly off the track. Well done to Adam Morgan who makes up for his lost opportunity at Thruxton to score a podium place.

Austin might've won if Jeff Smith hadn't driven all over him to take the lead, he was certainly defending absolutely brilliantly until that point. I have to wonder if Austin didn't have a hand in Smith going around at Cascades, he was right behind at the time. Not that I'd blame him if he did.

Awesome win for Andrew Jordan, with Plato's troubles this moves him right into the thick of the championship hunt, 2nd, 4 points behind Neal. He has to be taken as a serious contender now.

It was the missing link between the BTCC and Top Gear's Historic People Carrier Racing, which still needs to be turned into a proper reject-equivalent of the BTCC. Imagine that... Andy Neate in a diesel Nissan Serena trying to race with it, and who cares if he crashes it when it only cost a fiver from a dodgy auction?

Turkington on pole tomorrow. That NGTC BMW has really started to come good after a slow start to the season.

This is intriguing: Both MG's going for wets while most could be on slicks in mixed conditions at Croft in Race 2. Could be a spin or win decision

Triple 8 for ROTR: What Buffoons. They could have split the strategy but putting both cars on wets reminds me of Ducati's decision to put both Stoner and Hayden on Wets at the Motogp round at Donington in 2009 which also backfired

The official site hasn't yet been updated, but I would expect highlights to be on ITV4 tomorrow evening at either eight or nine pm.
