The Mitsubishi thing is due to my own mistake. Well, I have no reason to not believe you. Do you think you can remember your laptime or achieve a similar one. If yes, you can send it to me again and I will include them in the time tables.

Alright, luckily I had a backup of my old e-mail, so I could send the original result to you.

Thank you very much for fixing my failure. I have added your result to the table and modified it.

Just sent in my time for the new scenario. I know the deadline is still a bit far, but I don't think I'll be able to improve much on the time I already have. Will post a screenshot (and possibly a video, if I manage to edit/re-encode it well) once the deadline comes.

Thank god for such a long deadline. Saturday coming up will be my first fully free day since 3 weeks ago!

And I will lose this for sure...there is a problem with the controller config on ePSXe, the analog sticks work as if they were digital, it steers 100% in each direction no matter how little tilt you apply to the sticks. This means a LOT of weaving in the middle of straights can be expected, and therefore a bad time.

Oh damn :(

Which version of ePSXe? At least since 1.6.0 you can configure any controller with analog inputs as a virtual PSX Dual Shock controller. Mine works, and here's my config screen:
Image

Make sure the controller type is set to Dual Shock (top right of config window), and the analog sticks are configured to analog inputs in your controller. Also make sure your controller is properly calibrated (use the Windows Control Panel for that). Pressing F5 with the emulation running is equivalent to pressing the "ANALOG" button on the controller on a real PSX. Also make sure the analog mode is ON for your emulated controller.

Got my computer up working - you can expect a video, so no screenshot like last time... vis maior, but still.
I use 1.7.0 of ePSXe and I can second Priceless' comment.

THIS is the piece of information I was missing. That should do the trick I think. We'll see tomorrow...

Re: Rejects Of Gran Turismo

Post by Aerospeed »

I've gotten a lot better at this game thanks to some silly exploit... now I can get 250k easily in two races :D

Can I ask what are the requirements for entering?

(As for the exploit... here it is... first you need to get an IB Licence... I think. I have an IA Licence, so don't quote me on the licence. That's the annoying part. Then, get a car that has more than 300hp. I used the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, but you can use anything above 300hp, as stated. Enter the Capri Rally (there's two races, forwards and backwards) in the Special Conditions Hall. The car is stupidly easy, the track isn't, but with a car that has +300hp, you'll easily beat the small hatchback from the early 90's. Your prize is an actual rally car... sell that and you get about 250k. Then, if you need more money, enter the Capri Rally again, and the game will ask if you want to clear the winnings data for the Capri Rally. Say yes, and you're now eligible to win the Rally Car again. And for more money, you do this again and again and again and again....)

Sorry, Jeremy, but this exploit is the oldest in the book. :mrgreen:

But you only need four things to enter:
* the game itself
* most tracks unlocked
* a bit (or more) cash to buy cars
* some time

I think the only two tracks I don't have are the Tsukuba Wet and Circuit de la Sarthe II. I've also heard about another exploit that involves more money (about 880,000 credits or something like that), do you know anything like that?

In GT2, my idea is admittedly a bit more difficult because there are not as many cars available for it.

Here's are some examples with the important parts marked:
* Nissan
[R]Daisin Silvia GT '99
[R]Pennzoil GT-R GT '99
[R]Arta GT-R GT '99

I hope you can see my idea?

A question: would I be able to use a car sponsored by Red Bull (eg, one of the Audi DTM cars)?

If Red Bull is in the name of the car itself (I can't remember that and I am too lazy to look it up right now), yes. Otherwise, no.

That is one possible example - and Phoenix, did you know it's one of my favourites or did you just guess? :mrgreen:
Other possible cars would be:

Honda NSX Mobil 1 (JGTC)
Nissan Xanavi Hiroto GT-R

I may have to sit out this round, as I'm right now on an unplanned work trip. I'll try my best to meet the deadline, but right now this seems unlikely. :(

Edit: Just submitted my time - did it with a car I had laying around in my garage, which happened to one that I like (but not especially good for this scenario) - a Mazda RX-7. Love the Wankel engine. :D

If the GT4 drivers get the Minolta 88C-V, then the GT2 field have absolutely had it :?
We only have a bunch of JGTC cars to compete...we're utterly screwed :(

(After missing the last round due to lack of spare time I'm going to try and do this one)

I originally thought 'Okay, that car will maybe dip under a minute', and then I did a 1.03, so I thought 'Yeah, that's gonna happen', and when I saw the 1.07, I was 'Okay! WTF?', especially after Newey's car's LITERALLY unbeatable time :D

Klon,

Is "Renault Clio Sport V6 24V Race Car '00" (GT4) legal for this? I thought it was kinda cool, and did an okay laptime with it, but... as I went to settings I noticed it comes out of the box with racing suspension/exhaust... Please let us know so I can try with another car if needed.

Build-in parts do not have anyhing to do with allowed tuning. Allowed tuning only is addition to the car itself. The Renault comes with these parts, so it's not tuned as far as this game is concerned. Matter of fact, I have used this car as well, only on the PSP version.
