This is my proposal using the outskirts of Lerwick: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5639772 It consists of a pit straight around the ferry terminal ending in a hairpin; then the track uses North Road and Ladies drive with a new, fast corner created to add a bit of excitement to the section before the cross with the A970, then the track uses said road to go back to Lerwick with some really fast corners before a short cut to one of the parts of the ferry terminal is created to be able to create a chicane that both offers an overtaking opportunity and the chance to exit the chicane close enough to the car in front to try overtaking at the first corner.

I made another one which was ditched:

Here's mine: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5640021

The circuit goes clockwise from the black dot marker. The first corners are extremely, and it should be possible to take them without having to brake, but the track comes across its first overtaking opportunity at turn 6, a hairpin, that leads the drivers back onto the public roads that were left at turn 4. the circuit follows the road for about half a mile, then sharply turns right into a purpose-built straight leading into the slowest point of the circuit, the chicane at turns 8 and 9. The circuit then winds through the village of Gott with some very fast corners before encountering the circuit's third overtaking spot, turn 14, as the circuit reaches the A970 once more. The sweeping turn 15 leads into the final corner, a 90° left hander, the final overtaking spot.

Just under 5 miles long, with just over 3 miles of public road.

Erm,pasta, your track, for the second competition in a row,is not allowed by rules. AndreaModa said 3 miles must be covered by existing roads.Even if you did include that, your track is still illegal on the basis that a bit of your temporary track segment is a bridge, which AndreaModa also said is not allowed.

Anyways,the competition deadline is Monday.

Damn and blast :( !!!!!!!! For a second time in a row then, disqualify me. How rejectful is that, disqualified from a design competition twice in a row!

You're not DQ'ed,it's just that your track was off.You can design another one if you like.

Also,found myself a fast track.With two tight hairpins,an out-of-place chicane and just too fast,here is the Shitelands...oops,Shetland Island GP:http://www.gmap-pedometer.com?r=5640227

So instead, using Sumburgh Airport I have created... this.

Well I've entered this twice and I've won twice! 8-) Unfortunately I once again forgot to vote

Anyway, I'm going to be really self-indulgent (and, it must be said, dull) for my next theme and ask you to come up with a street circuit in my own home city of Sunderland. Just to be clear on boundaries, we are using the town of Sunderland not the official 'City of Sunderland' which includes Washington, Houghton-le-Spring, Hetton-le-Hole etc. - ie your circuit must be between the A19 and the sea, north of Seaham and south of a horizontal straight line between the A19/A184 roundabout and the sea. There's no minimum length requirement but I'm going to set a maximum of 4.5 miles (just over 7km) so that nobody goes absolutely crazy.

I have to say I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with (I also know where I would put my own entry if I was allowed to enter!).

This is my proposal; It consists of a mixture of fast straights, some 90º technical corners and a fast-flowing section southern of Sunderland city centre. The start/finish straight finishes in a 90º right turn heading into the technical section of the track, which ends up in a 500m straight ending in another right angle, which leads into the back straight, ending in a chicane at the roundabout, then heading into Tunstall Hope Road for a fast flowing section with a number of varied fast turns before heading into the start/finish straight again. Alternatively, the back straight could be used as the start/finish straight using Western Hill as the pitlane. http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5661168

Start/finish on Durham Road (A690), the two thirds at the beginning very fast, the last third with few tighter corners. A fair share of elevations too.

I thought I'd go for something simple. Full of straight and fast kinks, as well as a Peraltada-esque hairpin ended by two chicanes closer to the first chicanes at Monza in the 80s and 90s.
