With Dofasco in dire financial straits after the withdrawl of backer Lukoil, there are strong suggestions they may not have the cash to attend the final event of the season, the PDVSA Twin 100 on the island of Tropico. However, it seems the Polish team may have a saviour, at least to keep them running until the end of the year.
Rumours are rife that Benoit Voeckler will bring his plentiful bounty of cash from various sponsors in the family consortium, such as Delacroix-Serrano, and pay for a ride at the F2RWRS season finale.
With Marko Jantscher having served his suspension, Voeckler has lost his ride at Falik Arrows, and is desperately trying to keep his hand in single seaters for the rest of the year, before making the step up to F1RWRS full-time with Boxtel next year.
Neither party were available for comment at the time of publication.
