Yes I have received worse insults before, but that comment was still quite offensive. I know I have anger management issues and I absolutely hate that I do, but I am trying really hard to fix my problems.

And what Stramala said about playing the victim card was totally false, I do not want fake sympathy or any rubbish like that

See, intentions don't matter. The perception of your actions by others is what decides what your comments mean. It's a tough fact of life. If something keeps happening you don't like (i.e. people berating you for saying certain things), and a pattern exists connecting all these events (i.e. calling people out at the drop of a hat for things that really weren't deserving of it), you should consider taking this into account and adjusting your responses accordingly. Even if perhaps you don't like it, or don't think it's fair. Because that's how everybody else gets by.

I accidentally didn't see something, it was not delibrate idiocy. And I would like to forget about all of Formula Community tbh. My point is that he has called people out on stuff but done very simliar stuff himself.

And Roblomas, Bottas has precicely nothing to do with any of this.

If you're into MotoGP, I think the answer is obvious. I am not a MotoGP fan, but I am not watching the Indian GP live (I have access to both live Sky and BBC coverage legally), because I have other plans. And this is one race that I am simply not bothered about not watching live. Because it's India.

Although I now suspect it'll mean I'll miss a corker of a race... Hopefully! :D

Well said Coops2. The reaction to his title here has been respectful and it has been reasonably well received on F1Fanatic. Everywhere else however have so called "fans" trying to belittle Seb by saying it was Newey that won the title instead. He isn't a 1 man team and Red Bull have shown that

Even someone like me who doesn't rate Vettel will openly admit Red Bull have been the best team for awhile now. I know it must make it much easier to strategise when you know your car has such a huge margin over the rest of the field, but even in that one brief window last year that Mclaren had a car to match Newey's, they threw it away with reliability/pit stops.

OK, so this isnt technically a Rant but neither is it a Ponder and rather than start a new A Bit Annoyed thread just work with me yeah?

Changing helmet designs. See, I told you it wasnt a biggie.

Perhaps its my age, perhaps the yoof dont see no problem wid dat, but I do. And, I think, the person who started this particular trend was Eddie bloody Irvine when he swapped from his lovely orange helmet to that god awful probably-drawn-by-a-12-year-old Jaguar one. These days, of course, Seb Vettel perhaps couldnt pick his helmet out of a line-up and he isnt the only one. I like when drivers incorporate tributes or milestones into their existing designs but for the likes of Hamilton or Alonso thats just too subtle, they just come out with a completely different helmet. The Raikkonen/Hunt was good but the timing made no sense.

It isnt because I cant recognise the drivers its just that your helmet design is your helmet design, if you decide you chose a crap one when you were a thirteen year old karter then thats just tough.

Anyway, thats me done.

That's a good point to make. If drivers had helmet designs that actually was true to themselves, then this problem would be nonexistent. This is why I can easily recognize guys like Hülkenberg or Gutiérrez in an open wheel car, because they don't change their helmet designs. At the least, very rarely.

If Maldonado gets a drive before Hulkenberg it will perfectly summarise this entire despicable season, and the pitiful, loathesome, degenerate mess F1 has become.

I think Pérez did that pretty well this year, but then again, his car was not as much of a front runner as well as a total failure.

Uuurrgghhh, what is wrong with the producers of Sky Sports and BBC Sports F1 coverages?

Last weekend in India, BBC's Suzi Perry had to apologize to the viewers about the fact that Vettel said he used to have a Michael Schumacher-poster on his wall in his teens, and later on took it down, replacing it with
girls in bikinis
And moments later he mentioned they would celebrate later on with
drinks, probably not water

That's it.
Perry had to apologize for that! Most likely told to do so by her producer. And she blamed it on
of course it was in his second language, so we can forgive him for that cheeky little word that slipped out, I think. So we apologize for that, and obviously that was live.

Really?! :|

And a couple weeks ago Vettel was being interviewed in the paddock by Sky F1. Someone was off camera taking pictures and this warning appeared:

Image

I realize that the warning was probably aimed at epileptics, but how much PC must they be?
Why not keep a generic epilepsy warning in the subscription contract for the channel?
If they hadn't put up the warning, could they have been sued? I don't know, I just shake my head.

It's like Sky and BBC, and many other media outlets, think everyone are re**rds and have the IQ level of a kitchen blender.

If Kimi won't race in the last two races because he hasn't been paid, fine, give the seat to Hulkenberg instead. Who IIRC wasn't paid by Sauber for a long time (or may not even have been yet) but rather than jumping ship has put in a great effort for them and delivered the results they needed to become more financially stable.

I'm not saying they're in the right to not pay him, but this is a petulant response especially, as Lotus said, they must focus on paying their other employees first.

Kimi is another driver who goes up and down a lot in my estimation, but my opinion of him is rock bottom at the moment. He just sees no point in being nice to anyone or thinking of anyone besides himself.

And as others have said, it will be criminal if the Hulk is out of a drive next year.

As cruel as it is, and as callous as it may seem, if an employee is not compensated by his employer according to his contract, then what reason should the employee continue to provide his labor, regardless of the impecunity of said employer?

Hulkenberg and Raikkonen are in two dichotomically different situations. Raikkonen has already secured his future at Ferrari for next season. Raikkonen is a former world champion who is, at present, one of the most highly-rated drivers on the grid. Raikkonen, who really has no incentive to continue to drive for a team that has palpably gravitated towards his teammate and felt compelled to curse at him to yield to aforementioned teammate.

Hulkenberg, on the other hand, has still yet to secure a contract. Even when considering the dire financial straits of his team, he has every incentive to continue driving for said team, regardless of the competitive situation, regardless of the financial situation. Hulkenberg is desperate for every second he can take in a race seat to demonstrate to teams the extent of his talent. Unlike Raikkonen, Hulkenberg cannot afford to abide by the conventional logic regarding inadequate compensation. For him, a race seat is compensation enough.

I've never been much of a Raikkonen fan, even when he was driving for McLaren. But I did want to elucidate the rational reasons behind Raikkonen's reactions and responses following India, and highlight the intrinsic disparity between Hulkenberg and Raikkonen's circumstances. I am of the belief that if Hulkenberg was placed in the same situation as Raikkonen, where he had already secured a contract and was subsequently marginalized without payment, he would have behaved and reacted in a largely similar way. Any driver would have.

Of course, for mazzaccane to be in that situation a LOT of 'ifs' would have to come into place

Out of curiosity, when usually a driver gets paid? Before, during or after the season? Because according to Kimi he hasn't been paid yet. which implies there was a date [or some] during the course of the season..
Maybe it varies, depending on the contract...But surely it's not a regular monthly payment.. :?:

All in all, it's good to remember they're professionals. Even if it's a dream job and they're already millionaires, their services are not for free.

And it seems Kimi had to deal with that last year too. maybe he just got fed up.

Damn, I missed a Susie Wolff interview? No wonder there was a warning of flash photography with her around! ;)

She didn't get to say anything, though.

She would not have needed to. ;)

Although I now feel guilty for blatant sexism.

1) I'd personally like to see the Hülk go to Lotus if Kimi doesn't show up, but then who would Sauber replace him with? Hopefully Frijns. Sauber are already better off than they were before with finances based on their WCC placing, and losing Hülk doesn't mean much as he has no sponsors anyway.

2) No, Lotus are not in the right to not pay him. You don't make Kimi mad, and Lotus made him mad (even if his slightly mad money demands are, well, mad). As a result, he'll just leave and not on a high note. Lotus may not have done themselves any favors. When Lotus said the thing about paying other employees first, it makes no sense, as the "other" employees have most likely not worked as hard as Kimi. Give Iceman his salary.

3) His seeing no point in being nice to anyone or thinking of anyone is just classic Kimi  Although, it is kind of on a new level now. He seems more tense, his attitude seems to boil at a certain point on his thermometer.

4) Agreed. But I won't honestly be surprised if he misses out on a drive. His not having any sponsors most certainly doesn't help, nor does a start to the season that isn't the best.
