The Dagnalls take both titles again, which will spark further rumours that the championship is manipulated in their favor.
But I seriously hope that it doesn't happen and we'll see a toe-to-toe championship battle that continues up to the final race of the season. Largely because this will be the first season I'm going to follow from the beginning.

I and Eurobrun has suspected a conflict of interest on Aerond's behalf with running his team and the series long ago. Other than that, I agree with your second paragraph - I'd like to see MRT winning this season.

Then again, you should know that DGN is known for abusing pay-drivers: the team's second seat is reserved for a (sometimes dead-beat) paydriver so that the team can spend pay-driver money to improve the car and dominating the championship.

In my opinion Foxdale could be a dark horse for the title next year, if the chosen package is reliable yet fast, Douglas Mann could be a strong contender for the trophy. I see McFry taking a sneak win in a chaotic late-season race, with either heavy rain, high attrition, or both. You heard it here first

Predictions?
There will be a massive mid-season flare up between three or four teams over credits and drivers, whilst pre-qualifying will be the closest it's ever been. Tropico, Shonan and Kingfisher have a mountain of credits (well I know we have anyway) whilst Scuderia Alitalia and Autodynamics have solid drivers. As for MechaGP and the others who I can't be bothered to remember right now, it's too early to tell ( as I don't really remember what they've done drivers wise).

DGN will struggle with their new engine and Ron Mignolet will get at least 2 DNQs.
HRT will be runner up again, although both drivers will only end up 3rd and 4th.
Katayama will quit the team mid season as Sunshine slide into the wrong half of the grid.
Gillet will be stuck in mid table hell.
There will be an altercation between Kamaha and CJR as they have a garage next to each other, probably with Jones and Mori being banned for a couple of races.
Jones racing will come close again and will win a race but be unexciting otherwise.
Nicolas Steele becomes the second American to win a race, where Mori will add to this record of most races without a win, probably adding to most podiums without a win.
Douglas Mann gets beaten soundly by McFly and retires before the end of the season.
Arrowtech get a win with a pay driver Al Faisal but struggle otherwise.
Holden pull out and are purchased by Honda.
Pippa Mann retires again as Aeroracing can only race for the top ten and not even for points.
Kay Lon fails to score a podium all season, gets Du Lei pregnant and ends up in hospital after being attacked by ex girlfriends. Missing a few races as a result. Du Lei scores for the team.
Nathanael Spencer will end his career getting a few minor points and will probably be sacked before the end of the season.
Scuderia Alitalia will surprise by ending up in the top five.
Dofasco will DNPQ lots of times as will Kingfisher.
Mecha will get kicked out of the series before the year ends and a new team will emerge in 2016.
Tropico will make a major step forward and will qualify for a number of races even scoring the odd point.
Shonan will struggle but will get a few DNQs and Rets with their DNPQs.
Melrose will get a hatful of DNPQs and retires at the end of the season to be signed for mid table team next year with some team owner going "He is so talented it is a shock he is not signed".
Simpson will turn into Australian Minardi.
Autodynamics will get more retirements and DNPQs then all the teams.
Ramblings of a person hoping that De La Rosa and Schumacher do not retire so he does not feel old should not be taken seriously. Apart from Jones and Mori having a punch up between their garages, that is likely to happen.

SuperAguri, I see a bias in your predictions. IMO Mecha being kicked from the series mid-season (Eugh! Not this again!
![Evil or Very Mad ](./images/smilies/icon_evil.gif)
) and Holden team bought by Honda are those that, IMO, are highly unlikely to happen - the former because Mecha will try to avoid controversy as possible, while Holden (read: TMLW) is very loyal to the series.

The Moon wrote:New team for F1RWRS?
Pole Star Racing Team Team Principle, Luke Knight, has announced his plan to join the F1RWRS some time in the near future, possibly for next season. PSRT have had success in the Indy Championship Series across the Atlantic, and are now looking to branch out, according to Knight. "We [PSRT] are in negotiation with the appropriate senior figures in F1RWRS regarding entries" said Knight "and we are confident that a plan for our package can be agreed on and accepted into the F1RWRS soon". As the premier category of international motorsport, the F1RWRS has a long waiting list of teams waiting to enter. "We have a lot of credentials as a team" said Knight about the issue "and we feel that series management would be delighted to have us." Rumours are circulating that PSRT could buy their way into to F1RWRS, reminicent of Scuderia Alitalia's mid season takeover of the struggling Trueba outfit last year. "No; we will go down the proper avenues for our entry into the RWRS" confirmed Knight. "PSRT have also struck a deal with Scuderia Vittore, currently participating in the Rejects of LFS, which will see them become our offical junior squad." Luke Knight also has a driver development and management program in his name, which will be merged into the PSRT package. Current drivers signed to the scheme include F1RWRS legend David Koczo, currently contracted to Scuderia Alitalia, Martin van der Maeyede and Takuma Taki in the F3RWRS, currently contracted to Kingfisher Junior and Red Bull World Race Team respectively. Scuderia Vittore also has Andrea Bianchi, Martyn Rietacher racing for them in ROLFS, with test driver Helio Hernandez on loan at De Friis Motorsport . "We are primarily a British based team, and we will be competing under a British liscence when our time comes in the F1RWRS." announced Knight, who feels that PSRT could be a direct competitor to established British teams already in the F1RWRS. "I feel that PSRT has the resources and driver talent to challenge Jones Racing and Prospec Racing. Both have shown that they have what it takes to make it in the upper echelons of the sport, and I admire Jones's management style. PSRT are looking to emulate both team's success in the series and, who knows, maybe even go further. Of course, if that means taking the fight to other established teams, such as Gillet, Foxdale, MRT, and the reigning DGN, we will not be afraid of hunting down the big boys." Luke Knight is said to be huge fans of both Kay Lon and Pippa Mann. "Yes, both drivers are very talented, and I have great respect for them. On a professional level, who doesn't? Does anyone know if Pippa signs autographs? I'd love to Hve my 1:5 scale model of her title-winning AMR signed. I made it myself..." Our reporter noticed that Knight was carrying a Best in The World Bag, with what looked like a 'Kay Lon for the win' t-shirt inside it. On another note, Knight also said that a major sposnor was already on board "Yes, it is true, we do already have a sponsorship agreement. An international alcoholic beverage company will sponsor us in the F1RWRS, but that's all I can say, except that the branding level will be similar to Alitalia's involvement with IBR and Lancia." The Moon will bring further updates on this story when we have them
Make of this what you will

Dagens Industri wrote:Volvo threatens lawsuit against PSRT consortium
Car manufacturer Volvo has threatened the PSRT Group, run by Luke Knight and currently pursuing an F1RWRS entry, with an infringement lawsuit. The company, which is involved in F3RWRS through its Geely brand, claims they have exclusive rights to the Pole Star Racing name, which is currently used in the STCC and WTCC championships.
"Polestar Racing is a registered trademark, and as our official works team, we felt it necessary to protect that brand," said a Volvo spokesperson. "Polestar represents our environmentally friendly racing programme, using the latest bio-ethanol technology to produce cleaner racing cars. This reputation has taken years of hard work to accumulate, and we do not wish for a foreign team to steal the team's name and sully it by using gas guzzling high capacity engines."
Volvo has reportedly filed preliminary papers on behalf of Polestar Racing in Stockholm City Court, however they have signalled that if the PSRT Group reincorporate under a different name, the suit will be dropped.
PSRT were unavailable at the time of going to press.
La Gazzetta dello Sport wrote:Volvo "correct" to pursue infringement case, says Lindsay
Scuderia Alitalia team principal Alasdair Lindsay has expressed concern at the emergence of the Pole Star Racing Team consortium, only hours after the newly formed racing group were given notice of a lawsuit for trademark infringement.
"We have a number of concerns about this new consortium," said Lindsay. "His accusation we entered F1RWRS in an improper manner is a slanderous one. We followed all necessary protocol, we were the preferred bidder by the F1RWRS Commission at the time, therefore any suggestion we did not follow the rules in our acquistion of Trueba is nonsense. While he [Luke Knight, PSRT CEO] may not have stated outright this is what he meant, he implied it with the wording of his statement."
He then went on to talk about the relationship between his team, David Koczo, and Koczo's newly signed agent Knight. "I am surprised David got into business with this person," he said. "Perhaps he was duped, I don't know. But I am concerned that this agent has his priorities wrong and will do something that is not in the best interests of his client. We have a contract with David until the end of the 2016 season, and any attempt from an agent to end this contract early will result in strenuous legal action on our behalf."
He then went on to talk about the situation with Volvo, who are suing PSRT for trademark infringement. Volvo's official works team in STCC and WTCC has run under the Polestar Racing banner since 2004.
"This is a very bad sign for their credibility," he said. "Only hours after they announce their plans for entering the sport, someone turns up accusing them of wrongdoing and threatening to sue. Now, sometimes there are frivilous lawsuits to do with former business partners and so on, but this isn't the case here. Volvo have a very strong case. They are correct to take this action to protect their brand. This consortium might be sued for what little assets they already have and the project fail before it even begins."
PSRT are currently second on the official F1RWRS Commission waiting list, so any entry will likely occur in 2016 at the earliest.

I am delighted to welcome Fosters on board as primary sponsor to all PSRT operations! Foster's logos will appear heavily on our cars in the RWRS and in the Indy Championship Series. Scuderia Vittore have agreed to also take on Plus One's group branding, i.e. Fosters sponsorship. From now on, all former PSRT affliated teams will run under the banner of "Good Call Racing Team", while the constructor will be Plus One. Thank you for coming, and I bid you goodnight!

I've seen agents do bad things in the past so I was naturally worried when the story was written in the way it was, involving our star driver. We planned this team around David, and as long as he is satisfied I think we will probably discuss a contract extension sometime during the 2016 season. I understand that maybe at some point you will want your driver at your own team, but, for now, I feel because we will have a few seasons under our belt developing the car before Plus One enters F1RWRS, it is best for him to stay here for the long term.

The situation with Volvo is now sorted as we have been renamed as Plus One Group, with the team to be named "Good Call Racing" in line with our sponsorship deal with Foster's. David Koczo may be signed to Plus One Group's management program, but I can assure you David intends to honour your contract. I have recently spoke with him, and he expressed to me that he was keen to stay with Scuderia Alitlia Anyway, we have other drivers to fill the seats; our plans do not revolve around David, talented as he is. Besides, we do not even have an entry. So please, Mr Lindsay, no hard feelings.
Alasdair Lindsay wrote:OK sure, but you understand my perspective right? I've seen agents do bad things in the past so I was naturally worried when the story was written in the way it was, involving our star driver. We planned this team around David, and as long as he is satisfied I think we will probably discuss a contract extension sometime during the 2016 season. I understand that maybe at some point you will want your driver at your own team, but, for now, I feel because we will have a few seasons under our belt developing the car before Plus One enters F1RWRS, it is best for him to stay here for the long term.
Luke Knight wrote:Yes, I understand, many a dodgy agent has operated in the past. Mr Lindsay, I have strived here at Plus One to revolutionise the way both drivers and team bosses alike see driver management. David has full control over his future in motorsport; he decides what he wants to do, then tells us, and we secure the deal for him. I have been greatly impressed by your team's relation with our driver, Mr Lindsay, so we see no problem with a contract extension, provided David agrees to it, of course. Oh, and be prepared for an influx of Hungarian media around your team. As part of our branding work for David, he has become a major star in Hungary, where he is the face of the Foster's advert. David has also received an offer to feature in a local version of Dancing On Ice, did you know, but we had to decline that offer as David cannot skate!

Pasta: The film is Happy Gilmore. The scene in the bar. Too easy my friend, massive Adam Sandler fan over here. "I eat pieces of shite like you for breakfast!" "You eat pieces of shite for breakfast?!"

I have some (not-so) unpopular opinions about F1RWRS:
Shinobu Katayama and Pippa Mann are both overrated; Poppy Whitechapel is a better female driver.SOTL can actually do better.Barii Mori could turn from Heidfeld to Alesi next season.Acuri (the team) is overrated. There is a team orders going on at both DGN and Sunshine last season.Daniel Melrose could, in the very future, cut all ties with MRT.Comments on these are welcome.

My own unpopular opinion
I think that Tropico have quite possibly one of the worst driver lineups in the history of the F1RWRS.

Nathan Scott's actually pretty decent. He was just a victim of DGNgineering's effective one-car policy. Hence why Mignolet's an idiot for even considering going to the team in the first place.

Autosport wrote:Melrose looking for good things in 2015
Simpson Motorsport's latest recruit Daniel Melrose has told Autosport earlier today that he's looking forward to the challenge of driving for a new team in 2015 and doing some great things for his friend Dave Simpson. Despite a horror off-season with the Jones Racing debacle and being spectacularly dumped by his manager/girlfriend the day before the Bathurst 24 hour, the Australian is still optimistic heading into 2015. "2014 didn't end the way that I wanted it to off-track but I guess you can't have everything go your way all the time. And in hindsight, she was a b**** but I digress. Next year's where the focus is on now and I have full confidence in Dave and his ability to organise a team effectively. He's won races both as a driver and a team owner and his technical ability is second to none. And with Mitchell in the second seat as well, we have all the ingredients for success in 2015."
As to speculation about MRT's long-term future and driver lineup, Melrose was tight-lipped, only saying that "We'll see what happens in 2015. All I can say is we're in for the long haul in the F1RWRS, despite some who suggest otherwise."

Pippa Mann remains the only female F1RWRS champion, and
probably has the most wins of any female driver. How is that overrated?

What, we're talking about unpopular opinions here?
Chris Dagnall would have been a good fit at Boxtel
Melrose's self-destructing at Jones was probably the worst move of his career
Jean-Luc Schiller is a good pay-driver
Revolution/Shonan will be the next Acuri in 2015
