Having a contract with the most expensive security company helps. But it still isn't bulletproof and your parts might get stolen once in a while.

Re F1RWRS legends: as we know, Gary Cameron is very busy failing dismally at team management, but he'd be up for a 'just for fun' sort of blast around with the old boys in vintage machinery.

The Monaco Messiah, Thomas Nurmester, would still be up for a couple of not-so-serious races, despite nearly ticking 70.

James Davies, as desperate for a win as he is, would love to participate in F1 Legends - though I'm not really certain he qualifies as a 'legend' per se, he's certainly been around since the start.

What? Why is that a thing? :? I can't imagine that actually happens at any level of frequency. Although it does sound worthy of being in the "Reject Moments that never happened" thread...

I think I'm gonna get GPM2 when I get my laptop soon.

Well, we have had Stepney-gate and the AeroLab controversy within the last six years, so it's not out of the question. I would guess that team espionage programs are far more common than we'd hope. The situation in GPM2 is quite unrealistic, but it provides a large amount of entertainment, like when everyone broke into BAR in the GPM2 Chairman Game.

Ah yes. We really need to bring the GPM2 chairman game back. I mean, all the shenanigans between races was stuff that simply had to be seen to be believed

EDIT: I've gotten to the end of the first race of the 2003 season and we've already had five attempted break-ins at BAR

I for my part really liked that one time Williams broke in at Jordan and Ferrari broke in at Williams to avenge the attempted break-in.

Even Minardi got in on the act. I'm pretty sure we'd broken into BAR and nicked their best component, and one of the top teams had a poor component in that particular area, so thought us minnows at Minardi would be an easy target. Except, they failed to gain entry, and we broke into them in retaliation and nicked one of their best components intstead

I think McLaren nearly went bankrupt as a result of signing Schumacher, and thus had to chase sponsors all the time.

If it wasn't for a string of crazy lucky wins in the first half of the season McLaren would have gone bankrupt before the season finished. On the glitched up abandoned second season Toyota went bankrupt right at the start of the year.

If I was to run the series again (and I nearly did) I would make the budget much lower and make it a single season only. Even the rubbish teams can competitive by mid season, Arrows even won a race whilst Minardi were podium contenders by the end of the season!

Man, I'd be there in a heartbeat if it started up again. I mean, that 2003 season was probably the most fun I've ever had in the PMMF. Especially when all the teams started taking turns picking on BAR every weekend

Dave Simpson will definitely be participating in F1RWRS Legends, he'll race just about anything (except for REECCS Trabants, Reliant Robins or worst of all, a Morris Marina).

I might actually decide to run the WRC series that ryangregg proposed, it won't take too much effort as there will only be some not-so randomly generated times in WRC3... only trouble is that whoever is lucky enough to get Loeb's car will utterly dominate the series.
This is a cool spot.

How about you get rid of Loeb's Citroen? getting rid of the game breaker should keep the races interesting, as well as getting everyone to actually figure out what else competes in WRC

I could use Loeb's car, as I have to drive a car in the rally to get the AI results for each stage. Also, would anyone be interested in S2000 and Group N classes as well (these could have their own championship as well)?

Here's the number of cars available in each class:

WRC:
5 Citroen DS3 WRC's (one of these is Loeb's, which I will drive and therefore will not count)
15 Ford Fiesta WRC's
5 Mini Countryman WRC's
1 VW Polo WRC test car (Phoenix gets the first call on this, considering he asked for it in ryangregg's thread)

Group 2 (S2000)
6 Skoda Fabia S2000's
4 Ford Fiesta S2000's
3 Proton Satria Neo S2000's
1 Fiat Abarth Punto S2000

Group 3 (Group N):
3 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X's
4 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX's
6 Subaru Impreza WRX STI's
1 Ford Fiesta ST (if you want a really rejectful car, this would be the one to pick)

Oh, and before I forget: Wizzie, don't shove Simpson into a Mini just yet... he could still be racing in F1RWRS, as I think he could end up with some good stats having being on a race podium at least once for the first 4 seasons of his career.
This is a cool spot.

Only 1 Punto S2000? Gah! I guess that's Alberto Llovera's specially adapted car. If I enter this at all it'll probably be using this, even it means finishing last all the time!

Yep, it's Llovera's car. It's a shame that the Group A and B cars can't be used outside of career mode or multiplayer, otherwise you could enter a Delta S4 or Integrale.

I'll post a thread sometime this weekend with more details of the series, and it will be an in-canon series held in 2016, so take that into consideration when selecting your drivers.

So the WRC finally collapsed in 2015 and the F1 Rejects Council decided to acquire it as well then? Good lord, HWNSNBM really is taking over the world afterall. Assuming he isn't already everyone's master of course :P

Don't go assuming storylines just yet Wizzie... you'll find out the backstory of the series when the thread is created. One thing I will say now is that some name changes for rallies may be required...

Going back to GPM2 quickly, what's going on with that '98 season? Because I've already had to push back the creation of Rosenforth from 1998 to 1994, and it's looking increasingly likely that it was now formed in the 1980s

I could technically finish the 98 season as I do have a little bit more time now. There will most certainly not be a 99 season though.

Lurked for a wee bit on here and have to say I'm stunned at the incredibly deep and detailed universe you've woven together in the past few years (and I must say more than interested after a read at the wiki). Massive kudos to you all!

It's inspired me to go back to my own wee championship I had running a few years back just for the hell of it, though that was a pretty poor xkoranate effort at the time and nowt compared to this. Might fire up the old F1 Challenge and make a real go of it if anyone could give me a few pointers as to modding etc.

Welcome to the forum!

Our esteemed member Nuppiz might be able to help you out with F1C, he runs Life GP and will do the IFRC on it so he's got the knowledge there.

I hope you enjoy the things we have to offer here. Due to a recent...erm...problem with an individual not quite understanding the spirit of this part of the forum, please don't be offended if some members err on the side of caution. :)

It's inspired me to go back to my own wee championship I had running a few years back just for the hell of it, though that was a pretty poor xkoranate effort at the time and nowt compared to this. Might fire up the old F1 Challenge and make a real go of it if anyone could give me a few pointers as to modding etc.

Welcome to the Madhouse!

Yes, now I think about it, it's quite insane how much detail has been built up in this forum. Back stories, almost-but-not-quites, feuds, fights, generations, it really is almost like real life Formula One. The even more impressive thing is having 10 or so series linked together, pretty much all of which have waiting lists to get in, they've become so popular.

Quite a few series here are run using xkoranate, but it hasn't stopped them getting a decent number of entires. IIRC the IndyCar Series, F1RSTC and Warped TC are all run using it. However, if you can formulate some sort of original series using F1C (an IFRC feeder perhaps?), I can guarantee you will get people queuing around the block to get an entry.

We were almost reaching the point where F1R was diversifying into other sports outside motor racing. There was a very good ProTour Cycling series run by Shadaza, which unfortunately he decided to stop running half way through its first full season. Which was a shame, as it was one of my favourites. I was also very close to launching an F1 Rejects Premier League (football), but when I realised just how daunting a task it would be to keep it running properly, I pretty much gave up. It would take more than one real life season to complete one virtual season. Which just isn't practical at all. It was a big, great idea, lots of functionality, but it's not something that can really be done properly in an offline championship. So bear that in mind too, it doesn't always have to be a racing series.

But, if you are going to enter this crazy world of Reject virtual racing, there is one thing you must know. Take notice of Scuderia Alitalia. As the saying goes; We're in everything. ;)

After much thinking, I've thought of a new way to do a managerial series.

Having played EA's F1 Manager quite a bit of late, I thought that perhaps I could lift some features and bring them into a series here.

So, the season would begin in 1997. I'd use GP2 to run the series, but only really because it's easily moddable and because I have it. Now, this is where things get interesting.

Some new features would include...
- Teams can sign personnel; teams begin with their chief designers of that year but can sign new designers.
- Money based on sponsorship deals; teams are offered title sponsorship deals and different deals
- Drivers bring sponsorship; drivers can be thrown in with sponsorship deals (eg. Takagi and PIAA)
- Drivers can also be thrown in with engine deals (eg. Nakano with Mugen Honda)
- In-season testing.
- Option of 1, 2, or 3-year contracts.
- Driver/designer rating system out of 20 (this can change with good/bad results)

In addition, I'd keep the original drivers, designers and engines for 1997 in.

Of course, these are just some thoughts I had; if I have time over the summer I may be able to get this going. If I did, would anyone be interested?
