Guess what arrived at my house last week...

The brand new Swedish House Mafia album, Forever Faithless (basically a greatest hits album) and The Prodigy:Their Law (all the singles from between 1990-2005). I fear it may be a while before my hearing returns to what it was... :?

Lately I've had a good time testing the limits of my Sony MDR-XD100 headphones which I bought about a year ago. So far they've only sounded better and better as the volume has increased, and I'm hesitant to go any louder than I've already done...

Listening to Kate Nash once again (haters gonna hate  ), and her new EP sounds pretty good. Sadly though, there's a cover of 'All Day And All Of The Night' by The Kinks on it, which she's absolutely butchered. :x :(

Apart from that, I'm looking forward to her new album. :)

And to rebalance this thread and appease some members, have some solo Noelly G.

I wouldn't have put it on if I didn't like it :)

RHCP guitarist Josh Klinghoffer's version of the Laverne and Shirley theme tune...

Suede - Everything Will Flow

The last truely great Suede song, and in a way, possibly the last great single of the 1990s (it was released in September 1999). I bloody well hope Suede's comeback album next year is good.

Millionaire?
Billionaire?
Trilllionaire?
:D

Anyway, here's one of my favorite songs by The Cure, Jumping Someone Else's Train. Sadly, most of The Cure's very early repertoire has been overlooked.

Been going slightly more retro lately.

Fearofdark - Motorway
(really, really good album)

RushJet1 - Mega Man 3 Remade
This is so awesome it's unfair.

These albums kick ass, despite being chiptunes. Would recommend them heavily.

Found an insanely great New Wave mix for anyone who likes the genre. Been listening to it over and over again. :D

Burnout 3: Takedown. my favorite game from Criterion, and no amount of poor burnout-rip-offing NFS games will change that.... but 2010's Hot Pursuit is a very close second.
Anyways, Autopilot Off - Make A Sound

Pretty much all the NFS games have had consitently good soundtracks. Here's another good one.

I was considering going to the Reading Festival next year. Then they announced their first headliner...

Suffice to say, I won't even bother now.

Haters gonna hate, potatoes gonna potate...

And to be fair, I have very little money at the moment, so it was a long shot anyway.

What do you against Eminem? Please don't one of those stereotypical hip-hop haters. :(

That said, my musical tastes are actually quite differentiated. One second I listen to Kanye West, the next I play some good old Metallica. I also like 80's music quite much (Thank you GTA Vice City). But Jacques Villeneuve's songs are quite bollocks.

Meh, I've never really liked Eminem, even less so recently. I do respect hip-hop, even though it isn't my thing.

And I am trying to broaden my music tastes, though I'm finding it pretty hard to do so. :|

Meanwhile, I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want to go. Eminem headlining is pretty awesome in itself, but when you consider that Alt-J (who I've become mildly addicted to recently) and Sub Focus (who I reckon is one of the best Drum and bass producers out there) are among the backing acts................... Shame I'm properly skint at the mo

The Courteeners - Lose Control. On the strength of this, their new album will be a corker!

The start of 2013 is looking really good. So many artists that I like are putting out albums during the next few months, I don't know if I'm gonna be able to afford them all! ;)

In honour of what's just been given a cinematic release, and which I've been waiting nine years for (plus a few days so I'm not entangled with the obsessive nerd crowd): remind us, Legolas, where are the hobbits being taken again?

Can't blame me for trying, can you? Remember also, this is where I hid one of the clues for the F1RMGP WEC that would have seen the puzzle-solver rewarded with a shiny Leyton House...

Today marks ten years since the untimely death of Joe Strummer, the frontman of The Clash. So, of course, I'm spending today blasting out as many songs as I can.
