So, I forgot about SWTOR and went back to Diablo 3 instead. Is there any one else who plays this in the forums?

There was a period where I had to play it (long story...), and I was always lagging behind in development.
I never had seen any legendary and set items, my barbarian had only 20K DPS or so, and that was only because I had spent gold in the AH.
Retarded difficulty change even between the first to acts in Inferno. Absolutely random and unfair sets for mobs. (I mean come on, invulnerable minion + shield + reflect damage + fast?)

This last part changed. At the end of last year they patched the Inferno mode and levelled it a fair bit. 20k DPS? I am newbie then! :P But I already have legendary items (a friend of mine gave them).

Do you still play it? I am searching for party friends. :)

No. I uninstalled it months ago and I don't know if I still have access to the account yet (It wasn't mine actually...).
20K DPS isn't enough, or at least it wasn't, I tell you. 30-35 is possibly the minimum to not die every five seconds like I did in July.

So as you say, the game got balanced a little bit? Wow, it was about time...

It was actually in the summer when they did nerf inferno. I am still a lvl 28 Barbarian (I also have a lvl 39 Monk when I previously stopped playing). I don't have much time as you can see. But decided to play it again.

You know what's ironic? I absolutely dislike football clubs, which have only success due to willing investors who pumps loads of money into their clubs (ManCity, Vfl Wolfsburg). Yet I currently have a successful run with City on FIFA 13 online matches. But to be fair, they have a decent squad. Especially the Nasri-Aguero combo is pure dynamite. 8-)

Yet you picked Manchester City for the F1 Rejects Premier League...I smell HYPOCRITE! :D

Just went and bought F1 2010 again for a fiver. I forgot how good it was, definitely my favourite out of the three games Codemasters have done so far.

I have the same dislike of teams like that (QPR, PSG etc), and, also like you, I have a very successful career with Man City on FIFA 13 (PSP, in case you're wondering). It turns out a 3-4-3 formation with Dzeko, Tevez/Roux and Aguero up front, with Pastore and Lucas Moura on the wings leads to A LOT of goals :D I've also bought F1 1995, F1 1997 and F1 2001 off eBay. Happy days!

Was at a flea market today, and was able to get a few racing games by Papyrus for the PC. Included were:

IndyCar Racing II
Nascar Racing 2 and 3
Nascar Racing Grand National Series Expansion Pack

All for just $11 for the bunch. These will go great after playing Grand Prix Legends so much.

Sadly, I'm still trying to figure it out myself. :( I'll let you know as soon as I can. Nascar Racing 3 does work on PC funny enough, so there should be a way.

My PS3 shat itself. Only way it would work was with a system restore, but now all my data's gone.

The worst casualties:
- My good Skyrim character (Began mid-Nov 2011)
- My GT5 save (began Christmas 2010)
- My nearly complete FF7 save file

and a few other things. Not best pleased.

A reason why I never upgraded to PS3. With PS2, no matter how badly your console or games shite themselves, you data is always on the memory card. Which happens to be quite robust.

If there was a Gaming Thread Ponderbox, it would contain this

I yearn for the days of the Playstation One. Proper local multiplayer games, simple but fun. Gaming isn't fun anymore unless you're a "hardcore" gamer. Social gaming is dead.

I do love online gaming, but nothing beats playing 4-player games with 3 of your mates. Unfortunately, split screen's virtually been replaced.

So Steam has screwed me on two games now.

The first time was a resolution issue with Mirror's Edge, and now GTR2 refuses to launch outside of the Video Configurator. When I launch GTR2, it goes to the Video Config, and will go back to Video Config after I fill out all the settings and press OK.

Could anyone help me, please?

Crash Team Racing on PS1 was the BEST. Blowing each other up to the point you'd have no idea who would eventually win. Unfortunately my generation doesn't care about the old fashioned gaming, pizza and beer night. I would choose it over some partying nonsense any day.

It was the best, although the most players i've ever done was 3, and that's when I bought it on PSN, great decision from myself.

And it was never us blowing each other up to the point where we wouldn't know who won, i'd usually win the race a la Vettel 2011.

For some reason, I wanted a console, where you have to put a cartridge into the console. I finally got a Nintendo 64 with game pad and all cables for 39,95€. Now I have to buy myself some games, which, for some reason, are dirt cheap around the internet. Well, anything except for Mario and Zelda, that is.

I don't want to sound a smart-so-and-so, but you do know you can back-up your game save data to a USB stick or drive (or to a cloud if you have PSN Plus)? My old FAT 60gb died last year but I keep semi-regular backups
of the save game data and didn't lose progress in any games except those that protect the save data - I think DJ Hero was the only game I had that didn't allow the back-up. A how-to is here :

http://www.ehow.com/how_7148480_transfer-ps3-game-data.html

Also, I had a PS2 memory card get corrupted once - not happy, though it was a unofficial one so partly my own fault. Only bought Sony ones from then on ...

Well, I know now...

Anyway, turns out it's a problem with Sony's latest update and not my PS3. Seeing as I've found a way around this issue, I didn't need to wipe the thing. Not ideal.

That reminds me the ton of fun we used to have when 4 of played Goldeneye for the N64 in a mate's house. Good old times. I think there is still untapped potential for those of us who cannot spend more than 1 hour or 2 per day at a game. It is as Stramala said, there is not much fun getting destroyed online by those who have nothing else to do except gaming...

That does it, I'm bringing my original Playstation, CTR (and Gran Turismo 2 and whatever random PS1 games I can find strewn around my house) and a bunch of controllers to the Spa 24 Hours

Edit; actually, no, sod that, I just downloaded the ISO for CTR. I can use the emulator on my laptop, and just use a USB hub to connect as many controllers as I want. Sorted! :D

Just got CMR2 for the PC for four quids with postage. I could link a few pictures for the collection I think, but what I'm proud of is the Black Edition of Most Wanted for PS2. :D
GT2 is great, but I think 1 is better, but not by a lot.

The problem with emulators is that they're not stable with every game. Some just point blank refuse to work.

However, I think I may have just hit the jackpot. Found a local listing in South Edinburgh for a brand new unusued second gen PSOne (i.e. not the big boxy Playstation 1) for just £20. With some games bundled with it. Insane. Brand new PSOnes sell for £300 on eBay minimum. I'm heading over there to take a look and see if this is legit. It would be awesome if true. I used to have the same one, but the lens is knackered so a new one would be really nice.

You all want unpopular video-gaming opinions?
  • While lacking in number of, Gran Turismo 3 has a rather diverse range of cars.
  • There is a conspiracy why JV isn't named in some F1 games (GPM2 and F1 97, I am looking on you - and Jocke1, I need your help)
  • Victor Vance in GTA Vice City Stories deserves his ejection from the military at the end of Conduct Unbecoming mission.
  • If the underpass death chicane in GT1 version of SSR11 is converted into a straight, it would be better.
  • Minecraft is overrated. (says the guy who never played it :?)
  • I don't like Sega-bashing in some comments area and other forums.
