Re: redbulljack14's GP4/rFactor Career 1991-????
ROUND 14 - 1991 SPANISH GRAND PRIX - Barcelona
PRE-RACE
There were 2 driver changes for this race, Michael Bartels was back in the Lotus, this would be his final race for the team. Also, young Italian driver Alessandro Zanardi makes his debut for the Jordan team replacing Roberto Moreno. On the 1992 driver market, Jordan and Tyrrell have agreed a swap between Andrea De Cesaris and Stefano Modena. Jack Christopherson has also been linked to Tyrrell for 1992. Ligier, Larrousse will also return next year. Arrows, Osella and Coloni will also return under different names, as Footwork, Fondmental and Andrea Moda respectively.
QUALIFYING
Qualifying was not something to ride home about, that's the best thing I can say about it, bog last, over a second off Michael Bartels in the Lotus. 5 seconds off Berger's pole time. Dallara's best qualifier was Emmanuele Pirro, who himself was only 13th fastest. Michael Schumacher was quick enough to plant his Benetton 4th on the grid. Jordan had a good qualifying session with 9th and 10th on the grid. Debutant Zanardi actually outqualified veteran De Cesaris.
1. Gerhard Berger 1.21.523
2. Ayrton Senna 1.21.738
3. Riccardo Patrese 1.21.868
13. Emmanuele Pirro 1.23.574
21. Michael Bartels 1.25.261
22. Jack Christopherson 1.26.793
RACE
My start was pretty good as I made up 3 places at the start, unfortunately, it didn't last long as halfway through the lap, I went over the kerb and smashed into the wall. Pirro's race didn't last much longer as his engine failed him on lap 2. Senna took the lead at the start ahead of Berger who had been having a torrid season thanks to poor reliability. Riccardo Patrese took 2nd position approximatlely half way through. Mika Hakkinen was the only other retirement in the race. The race was processional as well as the very low attrition rate, whilst Senna took the chequered flag with Riccardo Patrese and Gerhard Berger completing the podium.
1. Ayrton Senna 1hr 43m 45.372s
2. Riccardo Patrese +25.304s
3. Gerhard Berger +32.191s
4. Jean Alesi +44.562s
5. Nigel Mansell +47.038s
6. Alain Prost +58.431s
7. Michael Schumacher +1m 04.387s
8. Nelson Piquet +1m 11.762s

Ah well, i'm probably heading for Tyrrell in 1992, and an exciting method on how to decide which 3 teams must face pre-qualifying in 1992. Several tests at different circuits between Ligier, Larrousse, Footwork, Fondmetal and Andrea Moda. Fastest driver in each test will be out of the next test, it will carry on until 2 teams have both drivers top a test. When that's finished, the other 3 teams face the Friday Morning dungeons.

Re: redbulljack14's GP4/rFactor Career 1991-????
ROUND 15 - 1991 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX - Suzuka
PRE-RACE
Going into the race, Ferrari only needs 4 points in the last 2 races to clinch the Constructors Championship. Ayrton Senna would clinch the 1991 Drivers Championship if he were to win at Suzuka so Adelaide could be a dead rubber race. Jack Christopherson has also signed for Tyrrell alongside Andrea De Cesaris for 1992. Meanwhile, Ivan Capelli had to make way for Austrian debutant Karl Wendlinger at the Leyton House team, the team were struggling financially. Michael Schumacher had been confirmed for Benetton in 1992 despite not scoring a point yet.
QUALIFYING
Ferrari's aim to clinch the Constructors Championship didn't start well as they could only manage 6th and 7th on the grid. Dallara were clearly the 5th fastest team in qualifying whilst me and Pirro locked out the 5th row. I will start 9th with Pirro 10th. It was McLaren and Williams head to head, championship leader Senna was the slowest out of the four. The spearhead of Williams's title challenge Riccardo Patrese took pole position
1. Riccardo Patrese 1.38.688
2. Nigel Mansell 1.38.872
3. Gerhard Berger 1.38.883
8. Michael Schumacher 1.38.735
9. Jack Christopherson 1.39.842
10. Emmanuele Pirro 1.40.354
RACE
The race didn't start well, after a collision with Schumacher, I lost my rear wing and couldn't carry on for long, as I had to retire on Lap 5 as I clearly wasn't going to last the race. Michael Schumacher was still looking for his first point and couldn't continue. Prost made a flyer from 6th place and moved up to 3rd. Senna dropped back from 4th to 6th. After 20 Laps, the order was Patrese, Prost, Mansell, Berger, Alesi, Senna, Piquet, Pirro, Modena and Martini. On Lap 33, Berger had mechanical troubles as reliability plagued him yet again. Stefano Modena lost his wheel in a crash whilst before Zanardi retired, Brundle pulled off an amazing pass on Zanardi at 130R, this impessed the Benetton team who were looking for a replacement on an out-going Nelson Piquet. Patrese won the race, whilst Ferrari scored enough points to become Constructors Champions
1. Riccardo Patrese 1hr 31m 54.340s
2. Alain Prost +24.358s
3. Nigel Mansell +35.272s
4. Jean Alesi +44.977s
5. Ayrton Senna +51.098s
6. Nelson Piquet +1m 00.346s
7. Emmanuele Pirro +1m 22.973s
8. Pierluigi Martini +1m 24.046s

Re: redbulljack14's GP4/rFactor Career 1991-????
ROUND 16 - 1991 AUSTRALIAN GRAND PRIX - Adelaide
QUALIFYING
The most important qualifying session of the year, Senna vs Prost vs Patrese vs Alesi! Alain Prost may well have kissed his chances of winning the World Championship goodbye by only being 11th quickest. He shared the middle row with me, the times were so close in the top 2 thirds of the grid. Jordan had fell off the pace over the last couple of races, not quite on the pace of Tyrrell, Dallara and even Minardi. Jean Alesi got pole position which he needed, as he had a deficit to make up on Senna and Patrese. Brabham and Lotus were at the back as usual with Leyton House not much quicker.
1. Jean Alesi 1.23.703
2. Ayrton Senna 1.23.796
3. Nigel Mansell 1.23.844
4. Riccardo Patrese 1.24.041
9. Emmanuele Pirro 1.25.014
11. Alain Prost 1.25.157
12. Jack Christopherson 1.25.188
13. Alessandro Zanardi 1.25.281
RACE
AND IT'S GO GO GO GO!!!! Senna's start was awful, he dropped 3 places, whilst Patrese made a good start and jumped up to 2nd ahead of teammate Nigel Mansell. On Lap 2, Senna's championship chances were given a huge shot in the foot when he crashes and was out of the race, he was leading the championship on countback so he still had an extremely slim chance of retaining his championship. Modena spun at the very start of the race and dropped to the back of the grid. He never recovered, a low-key end to what was a sensational season. Riccardo Patrese then heartbreakingly suffered a water leak whilst in 2nd place, he was in a position to take the championship with Jean Alesi 6 points behind him. Nigel Mansell lost his front wing in an incident and he and Piquet had to pit. Prost, Christopherson, Martini and Zanardi all benefitted from the attrition with Martini actually in 2nd for a long time. Martini dropped 2nd when passed by Prost, his luck ran out though with a few laps to go with a hydraulics failure. I was overtaken by Nigel Mansell down the Brabham straight on the penultimate lap. Meanwhile, Jean Alesi lead start to finish and crossed the line to become the 1991 World Champion!
1. Jean Alesi 1hr 49m 34.072s
2. Alain Prost +23.717s
3. Nigel Mansell +34.598s
4. Jack Christopherson +37.003s

Jack Christopherson winning the championship in his debut year would have been even better.

Is Giovanna Amati going to last the year? Will Brabham/MRD going to last the year? Will we get to see Damon make his debut? How dominant will Mansell and Williams be? Gonna be a great year!

ROUND 1 - 1992 SOUTH AFRICAN GRAND PRIX - Kyalami
PRE-QUALIFYING
1. Gabriele Tarquini 1.24.264
2. Bertrand Gachot 1.24.923
3. Ukyo Katayama 1.24.977
4. Andrea Chiesa 1.25.711
DNPQ Roberto Moreno 1.25.893
DNPQ Perry McCarthy 1.26.462
QUALIFYING
It's as you'd expect, Mansell and Patrese on the front row. Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna were not too far off Riccardo Patrese. Kyalami was not a circuit I have huge experience on and it reflected on me only being 25th on the grid. Neither Fondmetal car made the grid.
1. Nigel Mansell 1.22.515
2. Riccardo Patrese 1.22.027
3. Michael Schumacher 1.23.213
10. Andrea De Cesaris 1.24.164
24. Eric Van De Poele 1.25.294
25. Jack Christopherson 1.25.378
26. Bertrand Gachot`1.25.602
DNQ Gabriele Tarquini 1.25.903
DNQ Paul Belmondo 1.26.205
DNQ Giovanna Amati 1.26.735
DNQ Andrea Chiesa 1.26.994
RACE
The 1992 season is officially GO! GO! GO! Decent start for me, until a spin in a swerve to avoid a collision between Fittipaldi and Boutsen. I spent the race trying to catch up with other drivers but only managed to catch up with Bertrand Gachot who damaged his front wing. Aguri Suzuki walked away unhurt from a horrible smash on the 15th lap. It showed the improvement in the safety of the cars over the years and Footwork's ability to build an incredibly safe car. My race ended with a collision with the barrier after running over the kerb too much on a corner. Both Ferrari cars retired with engine failures, as did Alboreto and De Cesaris. Michael Schumacher scored his first ever points and Lotus scored their first points since the 1990 Hungarian Grand Prix and their first double points finish since the 1988 Brazilian Grand Prix. Ligier also looked promising as Comas finished just outside the points.
1. Nigel Mansell 1hr 37m
2. Ayrton Senna +14.356s
3. Riccardo Patrese +38.721s
4. Michael Schumacher +52.326s

ROUND 2 - 1992 MEXICAN GRAND PRIX - Mexico City
PRE-QUALIFYING
1. Betrand Gachot 1.23.403
2. Ukyo Katayama 1.23.787
3. Gabriele Tarquini 1.24.012
4. Andrea Chiesa 1.24.929
DNPQ Roberto Moreno 1.25.036
DNPQ Perry McCarthy 1.25.654
QUALIFYING
Mexico City was not my strongest track either, so I went in hoping to just qualify for the race to start with. Qualifying was a lottery as it was all about finding a good space on the track, with 30 cars, it's not easy. Two drivers who done that well were Riccardo Patrese and Martin Brundle, as Patrese scored his first pole position of the season. I qualified for the race, but only in 19th place. Karl Wendlinger was also an impressive 7th on the grid in his underfunded March, ahead of Benetton's Michael Schumacher. Bertrand Gachot recorded the slowest time thanks to his engine failing at the end of his first qualifying lap.
1. Riccardo Patrese 1.22.035
2. Martin Brundle 1.22.437
3. Nigel Mansell 1.22.596
11. Andrea De Cesaris 1.23.581
18. Aguri Suzuki 1.24.168
19. Jack Christopheron 1.24.307
20. Paul Belmondo 1.24.676
DNQ Eric Van De Poele 1.25.997
DNQ Giovanna Amati 1.26.234
DNQ Andrea Chiesa 1.26.327
DNQ Bertrand Gachot 1.29.901
RACE
Patrese made a pretty good start off the line, Brundle unfortunately only lasted 2 laps after being taken out by Nigel Mansell. Both retired, there was then another accident involving Schumacher, Belmondo, De Cesaris and others. This resulted in the safety car. The safety car ruined Patrese's race as he lost time in his pit stop and did not have enough pace in the mid-race stint and lost out to both McLarens. Aguri Suzuki was running 3rd ahead of Patrese until his engine failed with 4 laps to go. Martini stopped on the last lap with after sliding off the race and bumping into the wall, he didn't lose any points as he was only in 9th place anyway. Senna took the chequered flag.

Re: redbulljack14's GP4/rFactor Career 1991-????
Tyrrell driver Jack Christopherson has been seriously injured in a testing accident and will not return until 1993.
Real story is, my 1992 mod will no longer work and will not let me reinstall it so i'm just going to skip straight to 1993.
I will remain at Tyrrell until at least the end of the season, and probably through 1994 too.

Re: redbulljack14's GP4/rFactor Career 1991-????
ROUND 1 - 1993 SOUTH AFRICAN GRAND PRIX - Kyalami
PRE-RACE
The 13 teams agreed on a new rule for qualifying, as beforehand 26 cars made the grid, the number in the sport now, they all agreed on making just 25 grid spots, this meant the slowest driver in the qualifying sessions would DNQ for the race.
QUALIFYING
The car was less responsive than before and it suffered somewhat from understeer, this cost me quite dearly, especially in a twisty track like Kyalami. Sauber had a fantastic debut race with Karl Wendlinger 6th and JJ Lehto 9th. Derek Warwick also had a successful return for Footwork, qualifying 8th. The Lolas were off the pace and were the slowest 2 qualifiers. Luca Badoer edging out Michele Alboreto by approximately 0.3 seconds.
1. Damon Hill 1.21.304
2. Alain Prost 1.21.374
3. Riccardo Patrese 1.21.878
19. Andrea De Cesaris 1.23.269
22. Philippe Alliot 1.24.984
23. Jack Christopherson 1.25.053
24. Fabrizio Barbazza 1.25.178
25. Luca Badoer 1.26.894
DNQ Michele Alboreto 1.27.178
RACE
GO! GO! GO! The 1993 season instantly got underway and Prost got a mediocre getaway and lost out to Patrese. Hill made a fantastic start. I lost out to Barbazza and dropped to 24th. The next lap was much worse as I spun off at a sweeping right hander. Michael Andretti made a storming start and even passed Senna for 4th. That was until his Ford engine. Senna passed Prost in the pits for 3rd. Lotus were struggling as was Suzuki in the Footwork. Suzuki's teammate Derek Warwick had mechanical troubles while contending for points on his return to Formula 1. Hill was leading Patrese, Senna, Prost, Lehto and Berger. Sauber looked good for 2 points in their very first Grand Prix. On the penultimate lap, JJ Lehto began to experience engine troubles and lost positions to Berger, Schumacher, a debuting Barrichello and Alesi. Damon Hill led from start to finish ahead of Riccardo Patrese debuting for Benetton. The top 4 drivers were separated by less than 2 seconds.
1. Damon Hill 1hr 41m 36.382s
2. Riccardo Patrese + 0.752s
3. Ayrton Senna + 1.104s
4. Alain Prost +1.722s
5. Gerhard Berger +23.167s
6. Michael Schumacher +37.661s
7. Rubens Barrichello +39.272s
8. Jean Alesi +40.274s

ROUND 2 - 1993 BRAZILIAN GRAND PRIX - Interlagos
QUALIFYING
Qualifying went better than last time out, but all the cars on the 1993 mod suffer from understeer and I can't adapt to them, so expect me to regularly be outqualified by ADC. Don't expect many points either until 1994. I made it into the top 20 which was some improvement. Damon Hill scored pole again with the McLarens on row 2. Suzuki was 9th whilst Warwick was way down in 20th behind both Tyrrells. Erik Comas struggled in his Larrousse and was 24th whilst teammate Alliot made the top 10.
1. Damon Hill 1.21.263
2. Riccardo Patrese 1.21.374
3. Ayrton Senna 1.21.860
18. Andrea De Cesaris 1.23.972
19. Jack Christopherson 1.24.170
20. Derek Warwick 1.24.257
25. Michele Alboreto 1.25.232
DNQ Luca Badoer 1.25.783
RACE
The start was not too bad, for my standards on rFactor anyway. I made up a place at the expense of ADC. Prost made an excellent start from 5th and straight to 2nd. Gerhard Berger also made a place at the expense of Michael Andretti. He was punted off the track early by Rubens Barrichello and retired from the race. Riccardo Patrese was also an early retirement. Damon Hill lost out at the pits to Prost and Berger who passed Senna for 3rd on Lap 34. I stayed ahead of De Cesaris and
1. Alain Prost 1hr 41m 23.465s
2. Gerhard Berger +8.246s
3. Damon Hill +10.346s
4. Ayrton Senna +23.658s
5. Mark Blundell +35.371s
6. Michael Schumacher +59.262s
7. Jean Alesi +1m 04.325s

14. Philippe Alliot +2 Laps
15. Fabrizio Barbazza +3 Laps
16. Michele Alboreto +4 Laps
17. Christian Fittipaldi +4 Laps
REJECT OF THE RACE: Rubens Barrichello - Incident with Andretti cost both of them potential points.

Ah, but myself and Johnny Claes's school was Lord Williams's School in Oxfordshire, not in Fulham!
It's where I learnt lots of English, including the word 'shitbox' which came in especially handy during my year at AGS.

ROUND 3 - 1993 EUROPEAN GRAND PRIX - Donnington
QUALIFYING
Ok, let's get back on topic. For the first time since joining the Tyrrell team, I managed to outqualify Andrea De Cesaris. He struggled and only just managed to qualify. He was slower than both the Lolas but beat Aguri Suzuki in the Footwork to the last qualifying spot. Luca Badoer beat Michele Alboreto to 23rd place on the grid. I was stuck in the midfield, which was extremely competitive.
1. Alain Prost 1.18.310
2. Michael Schumacher 1.18.692
3. Ayrton Senna 1.19.073
10. Alessandro Zanardi 1.20.867
11. Jack Christopherson 1.21.025
12. Christian Fittipaldi 1.21.154
25. Andrea De Cesaris 1.23.426
DNQ Aguri Suzuki 1.23.753
RACE
The start was fairly chaotic, there was a pile up which resulted in the retirements of Hill, Berger, Alesi and Patrese. This meant the safety car was deployed and it stayed out until the end of lap 7. The order then was Prost, Senna, Schumacher, Andretti, Brundle, Herbert, Christopherson, Zanardi, Fittipaldi and Wendlinger. The next retirement was Michele Alboreto who spun off and clipped the barrier. JJ Lehto suffered an engine failure. I ran wide at the hairpin at the end of Lap 35 and it cost me 7th. Michael Schumacher was the next retirement. Michael Andretti had a good strategy and leapfrogged Senna at the pitstops. Brundle lost out to Herbert and Zanardi. On Lap 66, there was a second safety car period when Andrea De Cesaris and Thierry Boutsen collided. Prost lost what was almost a minute's lead thanks to the safety car but still won the grand prix ahead of Andretti and Senna.
1. Alain Prost 1hr 46m 24.347s
2. Michael Andretti +4.270s
3. Ayrton Senna +5.983s
4. Johnny Herbert +1 Lap
5. Alessandro Zanardi +1 Lap

Hopefully the team can build on this for the next round at Imola. Our aim as a team for this season is to climb back into the top 5 in the constructors standings. If we work hard, this is a possible achievement.

Working the way up the grid, it was back to reality for the Lolas, on home turf, they were mired to the back of the grid yet again. Alboreto was the unlucky one to DNQ this time around. What a difference a year makes as last year, he scored an impressive 5th. The real life result, I didn't do the 1992 race at Imola. I can't say I was very competitive, but at least I made the grid, albeit in 21st place. 2 positions behind ADC. Prost was once again on pole position, Jordan had an extremely strong showing, Barrichello in 6th and Boutsen in 12th.
1. Alain Prost 1.23.624
2. Gerhard Berger 1.24.357
3. Michael Schumacher 1.24.437
19. Andrea De Cesaris 1.26.106
20. Fabrizio Barbazza 1.26.253
21. Jack Christopherson 1.26.489
22. Philippe Alliot 1.26.847
25. Luca Badoer 1.27.363
DNQ Michele Alboreto 1.27.859
RACE
My first lap turned out to be the only lap. After a poor start where I dropped to 23rd by the time I reached Tamburello, and then my race ended after a collision with Suzuki after trying, and failing to avoid a spinning Boutsen. Prost made a fantastic start and pulled away from the pack, Senna and Alesi both jumped Schumacher. JJ Lehto kept with the frontrunners along with Zanardi, until the latter's engine failed on Lap 23. Riccardo Patrese went off at Aqua Minerale and had to retire. Andrea De Cesaris retired once again, this time at Rivazza. The rest of the race was uneventful other than Berger's retirement where he was at an unusual stage for a Ferrari at recent times, being a contender for the win. Prost won for the third time in succession with Alesi scored his first points of the season and JJ Lehto scoring Sauber's first ever points.
1. Alain Prost 1hr 32m 42.698s
2. Ayrton Senna +34.170s
3. Damon Hill +37.278s
4. Jean Alesi +38.104s
5. Michael Schumacher +49.591s
6. JJ Lehto +53.268s

ROUND 5 - 1993 SPANISH GRAND PRIX - Barcelona
QUALIFYING
My pace at Barcelona is very ordinary, in fact, it was even worse than usual. Apart from the two Lolas, I was the slowest driver. Andrea De Cesaris was an excellent 13th in the sister Tyrrell and he was 2 seconds quicker than me. Ayrton Senna took a surprise pole position in the Ford powered McLaren whilst Michael Andretti struggled and was down in 14th
1. Ayrton Senna 1.24.472
2. Alain Prost 1.25.037
3. Damon Hill 1.25.146
13. Andrea De Cesaris 1.26.499
23. Fabrizio Barbazza 1.27.743
24. Jack Christopherson 1.28.387
25. Michele Alboreto 1.28.562
DNQ Luca Badoer 1.28.671
RACE
I got ahead of Barbazza at the start, but Alboreto jumped me. Ayrton Senna's hopes of victory were prematurely dashed with an engine failure. Schumacher then took the lead after a fantastic start. On Lap 23, Christian Fittipaldi and Mark Blundell collided bringing out the safety car. The drivers who benefitted the most after pitting just beforehand were Derek Warwick and Philippe Alliot. After the safety car period, they were running 2nd and 4th. The order at the halfway point was Schumacher, Hill, Warwick, Prost, Alliot, Brundle, Lehto, De Cesaris, Alesi and Comas. Berger had retired early on and hydraulics troubles for Alesi meant Ferrari endured a double retirement. Warwick looked good for a podium until Prost passed him with 13 laps to go. With 12 laps until the finish, Lehto spun off from a points position, this handed 6th place to De Cesaris. Michael Schumacher won his first race of 1993 in convincing fashion.
1. Michael Schumacher 1hr 35m 46.427s
2. Damon Hill +24.425s
3. Alain Prost +56.825s
4. Derek Warwick +1m 07.316s
5. Philippe Alliot +1m 22.135s
6. Andrea De Cesaris +1 Lap
7. Johnny Herbert +1 Lap
8. Karl Wendlinger +1 Lap
9. Martin Brundle +2 Laps
10. Thierry Boutsen +2 Laps
11. Erik Comas +3 Laps
12. Jack Christopherson +3 Laps
13. Fabrizio Barbazza +4 Laps
REJECT OF THE RACE: Ferrari - Double DNF makes them lose even more ground on rivals .
