It'll be to contain the amount of dust kicked up by the cars, and prevent what I'd imagine is a serious amount of erosion on the hillsides. It's rubbish, but makes sense because without the paving, Pikes Peak would slowly disappear if they didn't do anything about it!

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you there - I would say that the Matra V12 trumps that. This is what the engine sounded like in sports car guise, fitted to the Matra 670, but Matra used exactly the same engine during the early 1970's in F1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inpyXFsKLSo

Notice his left hand. Unless he's downshifting, his hand is barely holding the wheel. So for 70% of the lap, he's pretty much one handed. Amazing!

That was the Australian version of NASCAR, but with only two paved ovals in the entire country, it was always doomed to failure.

So it was on a par with ASCAR then.

I think it is, he made some really baffling career choices right after getting out of bikes

Such as driving a massively out of date Oldsmobile in a minor league stock car race.

Except it used actuall ex-NASCAR's while ASCAR used an ASA or Late Model Stock Car Format

Win for Petrov. Especially since the Caterham is probably the second-worst car in the field.

You mean third-worst.

Although in Valencia i'd say they were fourth-worst.

McLaren, a non-reject team, make this cartoon and end up on both the Reject Youtube Thread and the Not-So-Reject Youtube Thread.

Are HRT still making HRToons, and if so, where do they go?
