Spent a year off in 2001 to test and develop the Toyota, then was sacked. Done a bit of Champ Car and a little Aussie V-8's but thats bout it!

He spent 1 or 2 races with Lotus at the end of 1994, Tyrrell in 1995 to 1997, then Arrows, then BAR and Ferrari, then Sauber then Toyota. Then there was his stint in CART, as you say, with Craig Pollock's team, whose name escapes me at the moment. I didn't know he was in V8s though. Good to know!

He's a works Ferrari driver in GTs now and they place him with whatever team they see fit.

Failing at NASCAR and the IRL.

I always it was bizarre that Red Bull chose to promote him to Formula 1. He never did much of anything before Formula 1 and certainly never stood out as someone who would make it to F1. I know the team that he drove for in Formula Renault when he won the European and German championships and they never rated him that highly.

I always thought it was a ploy to get more Americans interested in F1 or something.

His two V8 starts were at the Gold Coast last year. He raced with Andrew Thompson for Walkinshaw Racing, and didn't finish either race.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he taken out by that bonehead move by Villeneuve in race 1?

What, Villeneuve's lap 1 lesson in how not to drive? No, Thompson/Salo lasted until lap 78 or so before retiring. I think it was just typical Walkinshaw uselessness.
