1992 Volvo 460

Tier 1: £1500 (+35 reliability min)

Tier 3: £50 (not road legal, or anything legal, so -9000 points in all areas)

Unfortunately, you scour many a used car dealership, and fail to find a single 460. However, Bob down at the scrappies has eight Volvo 460s in nick so bad it wouldn't have a chance in hell of passing an MOT. Also, in your search for these 460s, you stumbled across a garage that specialises in parts for old Volvos, and for either 1500 quid, or 750 quid if you cut a few corners, the knackered chassis Bob has in his yard can be made roadworthy again. However, the garage only has enough
parts at the moment to repair two cars to Tier 1 standard, but a healthy supply of parts to achieve Tier 2 level. They do get stock in from abroad now an again, so there's a chance if you wait until later in the year to do up one of the buggered 460 chassis, they'll have more parts to fix it up to Tier 1 standard.

So, what quanitity of each would you like? Or would you like to change car?

Right, we'll take the two tier 1 cars and the battered old tier 3 car for 50 quid, because, why not! Also, Herrmann Mann's seen enough to be impressed by Bob and has signed him on as our teams head mechanic :P

Also, we'd like to investigate the prices of a few more cars.

In a underground garage in a undisclosed location, a group of self proclaimed loonies have stumbled across the website for the World Road Car Trophy and have decided to try and enter using what can only be described as either cheap & nasty, crap, oddball junk or all of the above. They have narrowed their search down to 5 vehicles.

The team will be known as Loonies' Tuned Motorsport and claim to be from Sealand.

1963 Lightburn Zeta

Image

An Australian microcar with a MASSIVE 324cc engine. Made by a company that was better known for making washing machines and cement mixers. It had no reverse gears, so to be able to drive backwards the car had to be turned off and the engine started backwards, which provided 4 reverse gears.

1968 Quasar

Image

Just look at it... who could've possibly thought that this was a good idea?

1974 Morris Marina

Image

(Barely) built by British Leyland in the 70's. Better known these days as the car most prone to damage from falling pianos hauled by Careless Air.

Trabant 601 Wagon

Image

It appears that someone in this group of loonies is a huge fan of both the REECCS and Garry Jones' RTCC Volvo wagon, given that they decided this should be in the lineup. If the engine fails, they have planned a cheap solution:
Image

1996 Hyundai Excel

Image

Cheap and common, which should mean it's a good backup car for when all of the obscure cars with hard to find parts expire. The strength lies not in the quality of the car, but the fact that you could get parts for one of these both quickly and cheaply.

The team have decided to purchase all tier 3 cars to save money for upgrades.

I may join into this series since it doesnt require a livery to be done :D

I am a bit confused though: Are the tiers different classes of cars? As in there will be a championship for tier 1, another one for tier 2 , and so on?

Tiers refers to the quality of the car being purchased, the more you spend the more likely you are to get a car with better stats. Everyone races together.

Alright, I'll put my team name, but I want to know the specs of a few cars before I decide to purchase any:

Name: Blokkmonsta Racing Europe (Germany)

Cars i'm interested in:

-Honda S2000 first-gen (1999-2003)
-Honda Civic Hatchback (1991-1995)
-Nissan 180SX/240SX/200SX Turbo (1991-1996)
(may change the bumpers to the silvia if it costs less: see "sileighty" for more info)
-Volkswagen Golf mk1 GTI (1975-1983)
- Renault Clio (1991-1993)
-Renault Clio Williams (1993)

Quite frankly, this list is too large, and it will take too long to do, so I'm making a change.

NEW RULE.
Teams can only make three (3) enquiries into cars before settling for one.

Pick the three you want most and I'll make it happen. Word of advice - you probably won't be able to afford the S2000 at all, so drop it.

No no no no and no. If you can't do it in real life, you can't do it here!!!

Your demands aren't actually clear, a bit scattered, so I'll go ahead and give quotes for the most sensible and coherent part of the post...

1998 Holden Commodore VT SS
BASE STATS
Speed: 60 - 90
Reliability: 30 - 50

Tier 1: £7000 (+10 relibality max)
Tier 2: £5250
Tier 3: £3500 (-10 speed max)

1998 Holden Commodore VT II
BASE STATS
Speed: 40 - 60
Reliability: 30 - 50

Tier 1: £3000 (+10 relibality max)
Tier 2: £2375
Tier 3: £1750 (-10 speed max)

You can afford two Tier 1 VT-SS. You could get two Tier 1's and a Tier 3, but you'd only be able to race-prep one chassis at a time, so it's not really a great choice.

155s, being absolutely ancient, are stupidly cheap, but also stupidly unreliable, and could have any number of defects stopping them from going fast...or at all. Despite their age, the JDM model is rather sought after, which gives their purchase price a premium. The V-TEC engines are simply some of the most reliabile out there, but the cheaper ones have been thrashed by boy-racers and may not have so much life left in them! Purchasing two Tier 1's is no problem however, will you confirm this order?

Thanks to their young age and solid build quality, these i30s are quite possibly the least likely to break down in the series. They won't be getting to the finish particularly fast though, but as they say, slow and steady wins the race. Perhaps this attitude will win-out in the end. Regardless, it's well within budget, would you like to confirm this purchase or adjust before committing?

Only one of them is left in racing condition though, the rest are badly damanged from crashes, but should the Tier 1 chassis be written off, parts can be salvaged from it and added to the Tier 3 spares to make the Tier 3 spares ready to go. As there is no Tier 2 classification for the Charade WRC, I will offer a single Tier 3 spare instead. You can still afford the entire order as is. You already asked for two. Pick the HZ Kingswood or the 97 VS Commodore.

You could afford to buy the EH Ute and fix it up, but then you'd only have one of them, and you'd have to forget about the '78 HZ Premiere. Or anything else for that matter.

Two Tier 2 VT SS Commodores (Both to be race-prepared)

I will confirm the purchase of the 2 2008 Mazda RX8 cars, plus the silly Renault Kangoo Van.

However at this stage can only the Mazda's be made race worthy.

I would like one Mazda Tier 1, the other Tier 2.
The van is tier 3.

This with the extra 2k each to get the Mazda's race ready should come to a total cost of: £16,250. Leaving £3,750 left in the bank. Correct?

1997 Honda Civic Type-R JDM Import
BASE STATS
Speed: 40 - 60
Reliability: 40 - 90

Tier 1: £4000 (+10 speed max, +20 reliability min)
Tier 2: £3000
Tier 3: £2000 (-10 speed min, -20 relaibility max)

Despite their age, the JDM model is rather sought after, which gives their purchase price a premium. The V-TEC engines are simply some of the most reliabile out there, but the cheaper ones have been thrashed by boy-racers and may not have so much life left in them! Purchasing two Tier 1's is no problem however, will you confirm this order?

We'll confirm that. I'll left with £8000 right? :)

Nissan 180SX/240SX/200SX/Sileighty (1991-1996)
Honda Civic Hatchback (1991-1995)
Volkswagen Golf Mk1 GTI (1975-1983)

That's still six cars ;)

The 180SX, 240SX and 200SX are all different cars and will have different ratings and prices. Pick one of the three, or pick those three and drop the rest.

Well the sileighty is just one of the other 3 with the bumper swapped cause it costs slightly less in most cases.

but if I must, i'll choose the 180sx with the single turbo SR20DET engine.

Umm, can you please post my requested cars' specs and prices for me as soon as you can Stramala?

We're adding another model to our lineup, in hopes of it being a little more reliable than the Isuzu crapboxes.

Manufacturer: Nissan
Make: Sunny
Year: 1994
No. of Tier 1 cars: 1
No. of Tier 2 cars: 1
No. of Tier 3 cars: 0

And on that note, I propose the Nissan Sunny be banned from the F1R forum for the rest of time, on the basis that it is the most bland and boring car ever devised by man :P

Team Name: Fox Auto Racing Team (No, I'm not stealing baker's name, my dad used to do a charity rally in the 90s with family, and they raced under this name specifically because of what the initials spelled  )

I too chose the name of Foxdale because of the initialism...  ;) The inspiration came from seeing a golf buggy/transport kind of vehicle at Brands Hatch that was labelled, "Fast Action Response Team." Same initials again!
