Why should I lock this thread if you're going to keep running the series? I see no point in creating another thread to just post the results...

Hey, Everything does go into one thread. Its not like there will be a thread for every single race of F1RWRS or it would get messy.

All Set for the inaugural sprint race at Monza as the lights go green, but we've got ourselves a bad start for one of them. The car of Kathe Rafanelli, Yvan Surer & Florence Duez has stalled on the grid!

2 Laps Later...

Gérson Capilé Throws it into the kitty litter!

4 laps later...

Someone has collided, its Matt Hoode's Class B BMW with Austin Robertson Jr's Audi!

The next lap...

Worlds collide (literally) as Niki Fouche of a Class B Honda Integra crashes into the super touring Toyota Camry of Carlos Marquez!

Several irrelevant retirements later...

Surprise, Surprise, The class B BMW of jean-jacques dermagne takes home overall victory, 2 seconds ahead of Bob Sampson's Volvo. It's no feast for my voicebox, but this race should be alright.

JOEY ZYLA DISAPPOINTED IN TEAM'S PACE SO FAR

BMW Zyla Motorsport team principal Joey Zyla spoke to reporters after the F1Rejects Touring Car Championship sprint race in Monza, in which his team finished 27th, last among finishers. "It's a real disappointment for us. We have more resources than most of the other teams so it's really, really disappointing to be so far off the pace. We'll just take it one step at a time until we're challenging for wins eventually. I'm still really confident, I can assure you everyone on the team is giving 100 percent, and I'm sure we'll have a podium finish by the end of the season, if not a victory." He was also visibly upset that the CEO of the series is running his own team. "Why is Legzopena allowed to participate? It's worrying for the series. I have no proof or even a lot of suspicion of cheating at the moment, but it's all just so... bizarre."

William Balfour (Driver, GBR): What a fantastic weekend! First off, I'd like to thank the team for their tremendous efforts in preparing the car on time. That we finished third in class, and fifth overall, seems almost surreal, especially with the difficult circumstances surrounding our application process and a few other issues back at base. The car felt very responsive and very balanced, which bodes very well for the rest of the season. That we could tussle with not only the Class B frontrunners, but also the Super Touring cars is extremely encouraging, and I'm very excited for what we could achieve as a team in the future.

Yasuo Koizumi (Driver, JPN): Wow! Very hard to believe that we'd placed so well in our first race. Our expectations were very low, and the car suffered a lot of understeer in the practice sessions. We then qualified very well, and finished third in class, which none of us had even hoped to achieve. Very happy for the team, and this should give a big boost to the guys working in the factory. Anyways, really looking forward to the next race, and hope to see you all there!

Ramsay Callahan (Team Principal): It's been no secret that Commonwealth Subaru has had a baptism by fire since we announced the creation of the team six months ago, which is why, I suppose, that today's result is so heartening to the team. Though there have been many "Helter-Skelter" moments, the most recent of which were the confirmation delays that occurred only a few days before today's race, it's very affirming to see that our team's core philosophy has delivered even amidst terribly difficult circumstances. I'd like to thank Prodrive and Subaru for their unflagging support since the inception of this outfit, as well as our boys in the paddock and back at the factory for producing a highly competitive car in spite of the situation. Our drivers performed valiantly as well and we must give them some credit; Will and Yasuo, though inexperienced, are very talented drivers and our performance today could only have raised their reputation in the paddock.

All in all, our results for this race are extremely encouraging and hopefully we can use this as a springboard to attain ever greater heights in the near-future.

VRT Satisfied, But...

VRT board of directors was pleased that both Supertouring cars get to the line in the first race of the (non canon) F1R-RTCC, but had a little issue about the series. "While the race pace was good and the racing was exciting too, it's strange that cars of Class B, supposedly with less power and/or technology than the ST class, were faster in a power circuit like Monza. The team expect more of the Nissan Primera and the series as a whole. Our drivers are itching for more action on track"

A top-10 finish in class in the first race? Not great, but it'll do for now. Room for improvement, as they say.

JOEY ZYLA IS ANGRY

One of our reporters has just caught up with Joey Zyla... uh-oh, he seems a bit unhappy at the moment, let's listen to what he has to say.

"No points? NO POINTS? We just managed to complete 90 percent of the race, so we should get three points, along with the other teams that completed 90 percent of the race getting their fair share of points as well. On another topic, how are the Class B cars faster? I'm confounded by this, coming in to the season I thought it was supposed to be the other way around. Anyway, regardless of the lack of points I must admit our drivers did a good job to keep the car in the race for as long as they did, it was a bit chaotic out there!"

Driver Jarod Justice was a bit more calm, saying "If we did get the three points it wouldn't have felt as good as if we finished in the points without a lot of attrition, it's still a disappointing decision not to award points, though."

Commonwealth Subaru Ecstatic With Performance

William Balfour (Driver, GBR): I'm completely speechless. This is extremely emotional for the team and I, to be on the overall podium in only our second race...it's just unbelievable. We struggled so much and worked so hard to get where we are today, and to have it all pay off so wonderfully is just absolutely incredible. Big thanks to Ramsay and the boys, without them there would be no car, and no team, and also to Yasuo, who's a genuinely nice guy and a bloody quick driver, as well as an invaluable asset to the team. We can only look forwards now, and I truly believe that we can achieve great things in the future.

Yasuo Koizumi (Driver, JPN): My English is not so good, so I can't express myself as well as Will, but I can only echo what he said. It's very moving to be standing on the podium, knowing that you represent the combined efforts of everyone who built the car, who maintained the car, who filed the paperwork, worked out the finances, anyone who worked hard to make today possible. Much thanks to all those guys, to Mr. Callaghan, who stuck with the team even when it seemed we would go under, and to Will as well, for being a team player and getting the car to the end. I really can't wait for our next race to come sooner.

Ramsay Callaghan (Team Principal): What do you say in a situation like this? We've agonized, tormented ourselves, struggled, to be rewarded with a result like today's. It really does nearly bring a tear to the eye. Obviously, this is only the beginning of the season, but we have no reason not to be optimistic with such a competitive platform, two highly talented drivers, robust works support from both Prodrive and Subaru, and some of the best staff in the world. Our finances are looking very healthy with the new sponsors we've been able to sign in the wake of our unprecedented performance, the drivers have never been more motivated, and our core ethos, once ridiculed, has been completely vindicated. I'm very excited for the future prospects of this team, and what we could achieve.

This I don't even...

Why are we racing in ST class if there's not going to be points every time there's massive DNF's? And I bet that this will not be the only time it happens. Once again, B class were faster and this seems like a poorly based series. Remember Monaco 96 where only 4 cars finished and even though, some DNF's were granted points? Apply that!

And now, for the in series...

What a Joke!
The ruling of no ponts for the Supertouring class in the main race of the (non cannon)RTCC, have bring out the fury of the BoD of VRT. "Jorge and Fernando pulled a massive effort in the main race, got into the podium, and now there's no points at all?! You got to be kidding!! Our drivers risk their live out there and the series don't even recognize their efforts?! VRT demands a serious compensation for this rubbish excuse!! Not only this affect us, but all the teams that run in the Supertouring class. Worst of all, B-Class was once again faster than us! Like they were using bigger turbo-powered engines while we're running NA power plants with less HP! I don't buy that an Audi 80 is faster in straight line than the Primera!"

Loyer Racing Technologies is very dissapointed about our pace.... only 4 points made in the B-Class so far!
And why the hell there are no points in Super Touring? We where on top of the DNF's and are very dissapointed about that!

As the winners of the pointless Super Touring race, Outterridge are especially mad. Why is it our fault that everyone else failed spectacularly? Did they not give points in the 1996 Monaco GP? Do NASCAR completely disregard any race with a massive pileup? This is dumb.

There were even points in the 2005 US GP at Indy. The Winner got the full 10 points. Just no points issued for 7th and 8th, so no 2 pts or 1 pt places - i.e. the guy in last got 3 pts!

Commonwealth Happy, But Willing To Compromise Competitive Standing For Integrity Of Sport

Ramsay Callaghan (Team Principal, GBR): Well, after our astonishing performance yesterday, we couldn't help but celebrate our success. Listening to some of the concerns expressed by the other team principals however, and after lengthy discussions with our drivers and sponsors, Commonwealth Subaru Racing is willing to engage with the sporting body and other teams in an open discussion regarding oversights in the current set of regulations. While this may compromise our competitiveness severely, Commonwealth sincerely believes in the importance of an equal playing field, and are willing to sacrifice our present position for sporting integrity.

Commonwealth therefore calls upon the administrative body of the F1RTCC to address the concerns as articulated by the teams, and we declare our intention to actively engage in any relevant discussion and abide by any concomitant regulation changes.

STATEMENT FROM D.A.N. ENGINEERING REGRADING THE RECENT EVENTS

Data Auto Nusantara (D.A.N.) Engineering, hereby, would like to reject the refusal of series management to award points to the Super Touring drivers, with excuse of lack of drivers finishing. We argue that, in other racing series, were indeed handed out regardless of numbers of finished drivers.

We will keep the protest until the situation is reserved and urges all teams in the F1RTCC, including the Super Touring teams, to support our protest.

Regards
Mr. Danny (team principal)
