Wet tyres i know ragging on pirelli or tyres in general is so last year, but I have to wonder what's the point of the modern formula and wet tyres if they can't function at all in standing water, and when its safe to go, the tyres are already bested by their intermediate counterparts.

Runner up would be Kamui Kobayashi you're in a shite car, I can get that. But given that this was going to be your last race in caterham, probably. And your home race at that, you could've done a better job.

I'm not going to blame Honda or FIA for today's incident, I don't really know the scope or the demands and requests of either party, the accident was an accident and I don't think you can blame either of them for that. A standing start and 53lap race would've been nice, but there's more to consider when changing the race start time than just asking Honda to move it.

Just as with IIDOTR, I don't really feel up to doing this right now.

Whatever the outcome for Bianchi, the ROTR has to be Typhoon Phanfone because without it, none of these horrible events would have happened.

For once this is not a humourous award.

Reject of the race should go to FIA RACE CONTROL for letting tractor go out on track that too in wet condition when drivers can't see double waved yellows, without safety car. Which is responsible for what happened to Bianchi.

And I completely disagree with people who say Typhoon, Honda or anyone else. You can't change weather it's nature's way. Track organisers could have got race ahead but Suzuka is not in middle of city. People have to take railway to get there which is on fixed time and booked months in advance. So I do not blame them. They have suffered big loss financially. And cancelling race would have been disastrous.
And it is credit to them they still get F1 race to Japan unlike certain Toyota who closed doors for Fuji years ago.
And a drivers said conditions were not too bad, it was getting close to wet tyres not worse than that. But sometimes sh!t happens in life. And drivers have driven in worse than this. Remember Fuji 2007.

The Suzuka Circuit organizers are my choice for ROTR. Their safety standards need serious examination IF they are ever to host another grand prix. They really need to get rid of the tractors and use cranes to lift a car off the track. I was watching the Suzuka 1000km race on Nismo TV and witnessed an Argo pulling a car out of a gravel trap, with no waving yellow. Therefore, they are the most deserving.

Jules Bianchi is the key concern right now, so my nomination of ROTR is clouded. My thoughts are with him on this tragic, star-crossed weekend.

With the news about De Cesaris, I'm nominating today itself.

Thirded.

Otherwise: The idiot who gave the call for that crane to come out without the safety car deployed.

1. The FIA: Their decision not to hold the race at a different time may have contributed to this incident.

2. Ferrari: Double DNF when they wanted to make an improvement.

To be fair, Räikkönen didn't retire but was way back in 12th due to a botched pitstop. It ended Ferrari's streak of 80+ GPs with at least one point scored.

Must be loosing it. But you're second point makes my decision still stand.

I think it would be very fitting if the Today nomination was upheld and made reject of the race.

As JB commented "The race is unimportant right now, all that matters is how Jules is doing." I'm sure he would have mentioned de Cesaris too if he had known at the time.

I'm going for the typhoon if anything, don't think anything should be awarded unless Jules starts to pull through.

Whatever will be Bianchi's accident's outcome, I have to nominate the marshal who used green flags on turn 8, while the crane was still trying to bring Sutil's car off the area.

YOU DON'T DO THAT.

If 20 years of watching F1 and F1 Rejects has taught me anything its that any driver can have an accident at any point of a Grand Prix weekend. Wether its in dry or wet conditions, on the parade lap, in the race or under double waved yellows - it can happen. Also in 20 years safety has improved so much that I always felt that the next big accident would arrise from a situation that was totally unforseeable and an event which no manner of regulations and technical improvements to a car could have prevented. What takes me by supprise is that Jules' accident is eerily familiar to Maria de Villota's and for me thats why I would like to nominate the ride height of support vehicles. As DC said in the BBC commentry the red flags are usually only waved after a car flies off the track, ie that F1 is reactive to accidents rather than proactive at preventing them, so I would like to pose the question: should Jules' collision with a support vehicle with a dangerous ride height have happened in the wake of Maria de Villota's?

My two cents. Get well soon Jules.

I nominate People on twitter that were bitching about the first red flag and then moaning about the second red flag not being thrown earlier
Just my two cents

This puts Sutil's spin in Germany this year, and the lack of any safety car or red flag, into fresh perspective. Although I seem to remember complaints about the lack of safety then...

The thing is, the same dude was waving double yellows a few seconds earlier. That's the point.

Only if the tractor and Sutil's car were on the other side of the wall should the flagman have changed the double yellow flags to green.
