Rest in peace Andrea. Thoughts go out to his family, friends, and the F1 community as a whole.

Rest in peace, Andrea. He was easily one of the more memorable drivers from the 80s, for being a fighter, even in lesser-tier machinery.

Such a shame. He was my first autograph from a Formula 1 driver, in 1989. I'll never forget him.

This has been a lousy weekend. Farewell Andrea, you never seemed to get the respect you deserved.

Might I suggest an Andrea de Cesaris retrospective in the near future?

The first grand prix I ever watched was Belgium 1991. I remember Andrea was running 2nd and on course to score Jordan's first ever podium before his engine failed with just a few laps to go.
A very good driver and a great loss to the world of F1. RIP Andrea de Cesaris.

Just heard the news that Andrea de Cesaris died on Sunday. He crashed his motorcycle on the Autostrada outside of Rome. I can't think of any other F1 driver that gave me so much entertainment.
