I don't think the 107% rule applies in adverse conditions.

Round 11 - Belgium
Qualy
Pretty good session, although my teammate kicked my ass. I could have improved by a couple of tenths, as I'd been being very conservative through the bus stop, but I ran out of fuel, and in the interests of punishing my stupidity, I left it there. Also of note, was Simtek's first qualifying lap fast enough to get them in the top 22, with Brabham doing a heroic job to put it 19th.
1. Schumacher - 1m51.910
2. Hill + 0.208
3. Alesi + 2.41
4. Barrichello + 0.316
5. Irvine + 0.760
6. Coulthard + 0.835
7. Hakkinen + 1.151
8. Verstappen + 1.243
9. Frentzen + 1.402
10. Martini + 1.442
11. Brundle + 2.244
12. Berger + 2.340
13. Blundell + 2.639
14. Valrey + 2.706
15. Morbidelli + 2.899
16. De Cesaris + 3.353
17. Panis + 3.874
18. Bernard + 3.995
19. Brabham + 4.214
20. Herbert + 4.246
21. Fittipaldi + 5.361
22. Katayama + 5.366

Race
Once again, my GP4 went screwy, and we had a 60 lap race instead of a 44 lap one. My best race so far (although that's not saying much). I finished last again, but was only 20 seconds behind Fittpaldi at the end of the race, after 3 spins (two which were not really my fault) and spending half a lap tooling round on 3 wheels. The first off was at Pouhon, and was caused by Irvine tooling around on the racing line minus his rear wing, and in order to avoid a collision, I had to quickly jink left, then right to get back online, but I slid off. This dropped me to 21st (Brabham was dicking around 9 seconds off the pace), and over the next few laps I climbed to 15th. I was then rear-ended by Frentzen into the bus stop, thankfully with little delay. However, on the in lap for my first stop, the car randomly understeered off and Pouhon, despite me taking the corner the same as every previous lap, and with my tyres in good condition :x

This tore off a wheel and my front wing, so I wasted lots of time dragging it round to the pits. I then stupidly spun going through the final chicane, but from about the half-way mark, I kept it on track, and on the pace.

1. Hill 1hr54m34.001
2. Coulthard + 2.010
3. Schumacher + 8.430
4. Hakkinen + 59.995
5. Morbidelli + 1 lap
6. Brundle + 1 Lap
7. Bernard + 1 Lap
8. Panis + 1 Lap
9. Katayama + 1 Lap
10. Fittipaldi + 1 Lap
11. Valrey + 1 Lap
12. Verstappen - Out of Fuel (he ran out a few yards from his pit box  )
13. Berger - Engine
14. Brabham - Transmission
15. Frentzen - Suspension
16. Blundell - Accident
17. Alesi - Suspension
18. Irvine - Puncture
19. Herbert - Loose Wheel
20. De Cesaris - Accident
21. Martini - Accident (he put himself into the barrier trying to overtake me through Les Combes, and I was totally innocent of any wrong doing ;) )
22. Barrichello - Suspension

True. I find it incredibly hard to get used to the steering wheel because I find the cars way too twitchy in the corners.
Which is why I stick to the keyboard and put some pretty memorable performances with it
I might do the same thing with the 03*, 04*, 05, 06 and 07 mods later in the year and then you can laugh at some of my pathetic performances

*depends on if I want to download them

I´m just doing the same thing but in GP2 (yes!!), from 1984 onwards -I´ll retire in 1999 the latest, depending on results-. My alter ego, Chris Dagnall, is a bit unreliable -lots of accidents- but not very slow. ATM I´ve just finished 1985 season:

1984 - Osella; 6 points, 17th in the championship. Champion: Prost, 71 points. Scored points in Detroit (6th), Dallas (4th) and Monza (5th). with 6 DNF due to accidents. My team-mate Ghinzani finished 14th with 7 points for an 8th in the constructors championship.

1985 - Arrows. Arrows offered me a seat instead of Berger, who got my seat at Osella. Been beaten regularly by Boutsen and had lots of 1st lap accidents which clearly took lots of points chances. I was about to be fired at the end of the season after only scored 2 points at Monaco, in a race I had to do two early pit-stops with a broken front-wing, and after scoring 9 DNF due to accidents. But a fantastic run for a 2nd place at home in Brands Hatch got me a new contract with Arrows for the 1986 season, again along Boutsen. Christian Danner will race in the second Osella instead of Allen Berg, who at the last minute was rejected from the team due to sponsorship reasons. I finished 15th in the championship with 8 points, and Arrows did an stunning 6th in constructors with 26 points, finishing in top of Renault and just 7 points from Brabham. The champion was Ayrton Senna with 80 points after Prost´s McLaren was cursed, finishing only 1 of the first 11 races.

Mmmh... should I open my own thread??
Tread lightly in ARWS. Every decision might be your last.
