Not sure what you're getting at there. Nielsen are a reputable company.
Furthermore, Motorsport Network and all of its affiliated companies are incredibly reputable and I would never say a bad word about any of them.

All hail Motorsport Network - the hulking motorsport media monstrosity whom none shall dare usurp.
As an aside, while this survey is great for fans to make their voices heard, Motorsport Network have a huge part to play themselves now that they have so much influence over the motorsport media landscape. I made it quite plain in my comments at the end that this is the case, so hopefully the intern processing the data takes note and passes my comments on!

It was the fact that they had prefaced the survey with the pitch that they would be providing temporary access to their subscription based "Motorsport Plus" section, pitched ostensibly as a reward for participating.
It's just that it felt to me like they were really looking to try and encourage people to move onto that service via what I suspect would be a targeted e-mail campaign on the back of participating in the survey which discouraged me, hence why I put that comment out there.

The early results show Fernando Alonso in the current lead.

And I appreciated that, to be honest. Gets right on my wick these things that are masquerading as something for you when all they are is a email address collection tool.

Market research is not a cheap and cheerful expense like many people seem to think. They appear to be doing this off their own backs, and so will need to get something out of it to justify the costs.

There is another F1/Autosport/Motorsport Network Global Fan Survey available. I have just completed it. Looking forward to seeing the results. I thought the last question was interesting, asking what traditions you have on race day. I was honest, I said I go to church before the race, highlighting that there is more in my life at a weekend than just F1, implying that they cannot just increase the amount of sport and expect me to just sit down and watch it all, however much of a fan that I am.

I filled it out too, I'm glad they're doing it, funny there were no questions about how I felt the FIA was doing...

It's always interesting what they leave out as well as what they do ask. No questions on your favourite race of the year, or which races you intend on going to trackside either. That'll stop the US races from being low on the list...
