Sign ups are now closed!

We'll kick off the season with four days of running in Barcelona, and then proceed to Melbourne. RPing may commence!

Note: You can always change teams mid-season, or if there's someone out there who wants to join, they may do so, but they have to join an 'existing' team (ie Williams, Arrows) and cannot 'resurrect' a team (ie Lola). These can only happen after Melbourne.

We were collecting engine data for our partners Honda, and they seemed to be very satisfied with the results. The engineers said Honda isn't the strongest engine, but they plan to build upon the torque. The B198 model seems to be also somewhere where the B197 was. Overall, I'm satisfied with this result.

See Roda, despite in a newer and better team is still seconds off the pace, so maybe we will have mobile chicanes still...

At the end of the day we decided to do one qualifying simulation run which netted me that 21.4 ahead of Damon who set his time right off the bat that morning. I don't really know what happened to Phillipe but his car stopped on the back straight with some sort of technical problem but that was the only problem we encountered all day.

I'm really sticking to that fifth place, am I not?
We were performing a race simulation here, instead of qualifying laps. Aside from an oil leak in my in-lap, I had encountered no problems. Honda seems delighted with the pace we have. If we can constantly be in the top 10, we'll have a good first year of working together!

I hope to keep improving myself, helping the team be competitive, my team-mate and the developing the car. Each lap, I get a better feeling from the car, its grip, its reactions. Only this way, we can take Benetton further up the grid. As my team-mate said, we are looking forward to a fruitful partnership with Honda and if these testing results are signs of what it is to come then we will have a good first year working together. We are absolutely satisfied with its power-to-weight ratio and its peak power. Nevertheless there is still lots of room for development and I know Honda are working hard on this. With us also giving our best back home, we hope to have a very competitive season ahead of us.

Jeroen Krautmeir wrote:After two days of testing, I'm pretty confident that the team will be challenging for podium finishes and perhaps the odd win or two. The Renault engine is extremely powerful, and Alain did a great job getting them. Loic Bigois has penned a wonderful chassis, which isn't perfect, but very good nonetheless. So far, my only complaint is the level of understeer I'm getting. It's terribly hard to navigate corners, especially medium to fast speed corners, and I have to put quite a lot of bias towards oversteer, which helps a bit. Straight line speed is fantastic, though, and it looks like we're the fastest in a straight line. The team is expecting a slight upgrade package on the last day, so I'm going to wait for that before making my final verdict. How Pippa got that Sauber on top stuns me, but I'm assuming she was doing a low-fuel run. Padraig looks like a talented fellow, and the two Benettons look very competitive.

Jack and Phillipe have also been consistant but both have been complaining about trying to get some temperature into the new grooved tyres introduced for this season. I haven't had any such problems with them so far but that might have something to do with my naturally more aggressive driving style compared to Jack and Phillipe.

New aero parts arrived today and we both tried out different setups. Honda's Spec II engine is great! I managed to close the gap down to a tenth, so it seems the team could really be a constant point-scorer, if not a winner. That's not saying much, but being egoistic doesn't always help.
