There are two or three corners where it looks like he gained an advantage from wallriding (Turns 4, 7, 9). I say DSQ!

Well I WOULD be able to make a judgement if the bastards at Universal Music didn't have Megavideo and Megaupload taken down thanks to SOPA. :|

If he didn't wall ride, he would have lost a bunch of time (i estimate at least four seconds, probably a lot more). Those corners are among the slowest on the track and he was able to take them at a speed which is a gear higher then they normally would have been taken at.

Time Penalty, but no DSQ.

I already mentioned it in my mail to give me a time penalty. 10 seconds? Yes, I'm also saying it's an advantage, my best time without that was at around... 1:28.9 or something. 10 seconds? 15?

If I was Klon I'd disqualify you there and then. In fact, you seem like flouting good sportsmanship in your message.

Life has been in a state of turmoil over the past few weeks, so I missed round 2-8. I think I'll be in 2-9 though... and it looks like I'm still in good shape for the GT4 championship :)

On a side note, the deadline is January 4, 2012, right?

Finally... Merry Christmas! :D

Here is my video for 2-7. Sorry for the bad quality, I played a lot with the encoding settings, but there wasn't much I could do. Next time I'll try not to forget to adjust the capture settings before doing it.

If time allows, I'll play 2-8 too just to see how I compare to the rest of you guys, but of course I won't "submit" as I have already missed the deadline. :(

EDIT: I have picked the Merc SLK for 2-9, but I have a question. I bought it used, and applied all tuning listed in "Allowed tuning" on it. May I perform oil change? Oil change was once listed as "tuning", hence the question. I already have a laptime down without that, but I'd like to know for sure before I submit.

-10 points please, not -5.

Also, Le Mans cars... I guess in GT2 that makes Toyota GT-One, Nissan R390 GT1, Lotus Elise GT1 and... I think Saleen SR Widebody?
Edit: one more question: since these cars will all have gear modifications, can that be modified or not?

You mean setting the gear ratios? That is fair game, car set-up is completely up to you.

And I am sticking to the -5, I like it - not a reasonable punishment, but it makes for the perfect Triple Threat. As I have said: "FIA 2008"

Oh okay, I set the ratio of the GT-One ('98 model, I like its paintjob a lot better than the '99 one) so it accelerates a bit faster and doesn't have any more top speed than needed...
Also, three cars: It might sound stupid, but what about using the same car, but two versions? For example the R390 GT1 '97 and '98 - should this be avoided? Because I'm thinking about using the Viper GTS-R as the third car.

GT2 suffers a bit from having X cars with more than one paintjobs and no differences, mainly the GT500 cars come to my mind-

Well, I don't want to abuse the GT-One (it's overall a better car), so I'll stick to my GT-One - R390 GT1 - Viper GTS-R trio.

Questions:
1. How am I ahead of TMLW in the championship but not the GT4 cup?
2. Is corner cutting the chicanes allowed? Probably not...
3. How many days does one have to complete to unlock the Le Mans circuit?
4. Is there a list of Le Mans cars in GT4?

Question 2 - I think not. If you cut it with two wheels, it's plausible, but not all four. I recorded my GT-One lap, that follows this rule. (I did a 1 tenth better lap, but I felt like I cut one corner a bit more, so I didn't consider that time the best.)

Here is my video for 2-9.

And for this scenario I'll take the Mazda 787B, 1991 Le Mans winner, as a farewell - Mazda has announced that 2012 will be the last model year for the RX-8, with production to be stopped this year, meaning there will be no more rotary engines on Mazda's lineup for the foreseeable future.

Now I just have to get the car in my game...

Forgot to mention, the Mazda 787B was driven by a F1 Reject, which makes it even more special. :)

Re: Rejects Of Gran Turismo

Posted: 27 Jan 2012, 01:19
by Priceless
Just submitted my times.

As my three cars, I chose these:

Mazda 787B - 1991 Le Mans winner, driven by F1 Reject Volker Weidler, also the only Japanese car to ever win Le Mans, AND the only car with a non-piston engine (4-rotor Wankel) to ever win Le Mans.

Toyota GT-One (TS020) - Raced at Le Mans in 1999. Driven by F1 Reject Vincenzo Sospiri. And a nice, fast car.

Dodge/Chrysler Viper GTS-R - The version in the game was raced at Le Mans by Team Oreca in 2000. I kind of like the Viper, and also it was the car that I could get in order to have three reasonably good Le Mans cars in time to meet the deadline.

Someone had asked, but I didn't think of it at the time, but when choosing the cars I used this list of cars that ran the 24 Hours of Le Mans:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:2 ... _race_cars

Videos coming soon.

As today's the deadline, here are the videos for this scenario:

Part 1: Mazda 787B
Part 2: Toyota GT-One
Part 3: Dodge Viper GTS-R

The GT-One video has a few hiccups at the start. I didn't suffer from those while playing, but that happened because some background task fired while the machine had to deal with PCSX2 and Fraps together, which is a very heavy processing and I/O load. Sorry about that...

EDIT: Just found out that PCSX2 has a built-in video recording feature. I'll try that out, and in future scenarios I may use it instead of Fraps.

Uploaded this last night, managed to find a way to do picture-in-picture-in-picture in Pinnacle Studio. Had to render a video with a picture-in-picture, then add the third video in a different area to the first video then render it. It's rather dumb, but it works.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mPII1Aw9hc

I used all three Pescarolos in the game. I honestly like those cars, they were a lot of fun to drive. And doing fast laps in the middle of the Long Night was fun. Probably could have had a cleaner Mulsanne Straight in the Peugeot.

Well, since everyone is posting their videos, here's my GT-One '98 - R390 GT1 '97 - Viper GTS-R video. I ignored my actual best laptime with the GT-One, I felt like I was too aggressive with the first chicane, so I ignored that.

Pleased with my results today. I got GTPSP over the holidays and it's actually very good, just that the modes are simple and the car selection varies on what day it is. So for example if you want Ferrari, you've got to play mundanely until Ferrari decides to show up for the car selections. Weird. Not sure whether or not to use GT4 or GTPSP.

No idea. From what I've heard, only downloadable games (i.e. from a PSP Go) will be compatable. Given how I don't own a PS Vita, I don't know how that works. This is from wikipedia:
"The device will also be backwards compatible with PlayStation Portable downloadable titles, PlayStation minis, PlayStation Suite games, PSOne Classics, videos, and comics from the PlayStation Store."

No idea what a PlayStation Mini is...

A Playstation Mini are little games that can be purchased for low money on the PSN. What they of course do not mention at Wikipedia is the fact that these twats at Sony take money for the conversion of PSP titles. All of my hate!

It's probably not the best idea, but I've been playing GT1,recording my races and uploading them to youtube. I've got bored with it, since I got school work to catch up on and The last races I got left are all from the second page of the special events. (5 Laps of SSR11, puppy doesn't want to record that  )

Anyways, this is what I got so far. I tried to make the races look close, and I found gems of cars when I was doing the project. I should stop playing the Automation engine demo, TF2, and Civ 5, and get back into GT5 and F1 2011.

Procrastination is Domination.

Since I have been asked, I will clarify something about legal tuning measures:

Normally, tuning is added: if your car comes with something that is not on that list, it's still legal. The only exception to this are tires, you need to use the tires given in the scenario no matter what the car you use comes with.
