The championship contenders earlier today announced a contract extension for Italian rookie Salvatore Miccoli, who is currently vying with Dave Anderson for the driver's title. However team-mates Vincenzo Sospiri, Roberto Moreno and Diego Maruicio Batistuta have yet to sign new deals for next season, with rumours suggesting the three of them are competing over one seat for next season.

"Nothing is certain for next year, aside from Salvatore returning for next season," said team principal Alasdair Lindsay. "We intend to field as many cars as is possible, we are a big team and one that wants to contribue to the success of the championship."

I'd normally say that stats would cost you only 1/10ths of the normal costs, but then we'd see everyone entering drivers with 30 skills points. So one-off driver will come at the normal rates, but chassis and engines can "leased" for 1/10ths of the normal costs.

And yes, you could enter two guest drivers.

P.S.: CART...I will not tolerate any "organisation" that acts autonomously from our own.

With this year's Indy Championship Series (Known as IndyCar from next year on) drawing to a close, the preparations for next year are already fully under way. The hottest rumour is about a yet unnamed manufacturer, which has uncovered a loophole in IndyCar's regulations. Indy's engine regulations stipulate 3-litre turbo engines. The rules also explicitly mandate a maximum of six cylinders for purpose-built racing engines. Alledgedly, one manufacturer is already working on a production-based 3.0l V8 turbo. While the V8 will indeed be production-based, it could still draw more power than the current V6 engines. It hasn't been known yet, who's going to enter the engine. The manufacturer would like to remain anonymous until the very last moment, in order to avoid any protests by others. The only thing certain, is that said manufacturer is already active in IndyCar racing.

The chase for the Indy Championship goes on, and things look very good for Salvatore Miccoli. He parked his Lola-Honda on pole position, whereas his title rivals Dave Anderson and Kenan Ardaoglu have to start their races from the midfield. Once more noticable is the domination of the Honda-powered cars, although Ford seems to have picked up some ground towards their Japanese rivals, as Antonio Reyna-Sanchez once again parked his Lola-Ford in the top 10.

Kenan Ardaoglu can probably bury his championship hopes, as he retired early in the race, due to problems with fuel pressure.

Yes, even non-finishers within the top 20 receive points. By the way, I feel that I already have proper standings, but it can't do harm if one calculates the points again.

Because I'm lazy, and a less complicated system suits me better. Seriously, I'll implement pre-qualifying and grid limits at the road courses next year. Thus, there wouldn't be much sense for 20 points finishers in a race with 30 participants.
