Here is my video for this new scenario.
Put "as much as I could get" of turbo in the car. It's kinda hard to get traction when you have that much power onto the Sports tires.

Just do that one easy rally event that gets you the Toyota RSC Rally Raid car a lot. It's worth like 200k+. Easy dosh.

The car already had near 500 without the turbo... didn't think I took that much of an advantage of it though, due to the Sports tires (and having no traction, especially on corner exits). I'll unequip the turbo and do a lap to see how much I gained from it.

The conditions are already set so I'm playing to those, no changes needed, but as far as I recall GT2's Test Course is shorter than GT4's (the straights are 1 km long in GT2 and 1.5 km long in GT4). I can't confirm since I don't have Test Course unlocked in GT2 here. Can anybody confirm that?

Depends on the version, I think. I have the American version, and I guess you know the European version... soundtracks may be different from one version to another.

The Test Course is definitely much shorter in GT2 compared to GT4. I'll see if I can get the exact figure up.

It would be nice to see how the times of two equal cars compare to know just how much I'd have to multiply GT2 times, if needed.

I needed to do that four times, and I already did it a dozen times just to get the said car... and I was in a rush, thus explaining my slow time.
But thanks for the Bonus Point!

Since I have been asked - these -100 BHP cars need to have said engine power at time of purchase, so Gran Turismo 5 (HWNSNBM, I hate that game) players may not downtune their cars.

Who would want to downtune a car, besides meeting regulations?

Seems kinda silly, doesn't it?

Well, as it turns out I had forgotten about this and only remembered it when this topic popped up again. So I thought that "oh well, I'll just pop GT2 in and see what the length of Test Course is in that". Turns out I've forgotten my PS1 memory card somewhere, and you have to get through all license tests to be able to drive it in arcade (I could still compare two identical cars in both games on the same tracks, but I wouldn't trust those results due to different driving physics and the inability to drive exactly the same in both attempts)...

Another big difference between Test Course in GT2, and GT3/GT4 is the lane that is taken for fast laps on both tracks. I think the inside lane, hugging the bottom by the kerb is faster in GT2 while nearly riding the outside wall is fastest in GT3/GT4.
And I'm waiting for results. In the mean time, watch me drive a semi-floating Mercedes!

If I can find my damn guide book, I can tell you what game days this car is availabe to buy from the used car lot.
EDIT: Found it! The days it's available on are;
29 to 49, 71 to 77, 85 to 98, 183 to 196, 232 to 238, 246 to 252, 260 to 266, 337 to 343, 351 to 357, 372 to 406, 414 to 420, 435 to 441, 449 to 455, 540 to 553, 561 to 567, 575 to 581, 596 to 602, 638 to 644, 666 to 672, 694 to 700.
The game works on a 700 day cycle, so if you're past 700 days on your current game, just add +700 to the numbers above.

RRR Protests RoGT Results
RealRacingRoots, user in the Rejects of Gran Turismo series has lodged a protest stating that users racing in the Gran Turismo 4 division have an unfair advantage in the championship.
"The users in GT4 have a huge advantage with a Traction Control and Stability control system that eliminates all Oversteer, Understeer, and Wheelspin making doing fast laps easier than it is in GT2 and GT5. I found this advantage most evident in the Golden Supra Warriors and the Springtime for Heidfeld events where GT4 users were able to traverse each track with little issue. There must be some sort of time penalty for these users as they are using an unfair advantage." RRR quoted in saying in the press release.
Event organiser Klon was unavailable for comment on this new development. The current event in Season 3 is called Speed Darwinism.
No AIDS? No problem! ALL the AIDS? Well, I will wait for Klon to decide on the judgement.

In consideration for this, I will be running all rounds from this one on with all driving aids disabled for any car (I usually do it for cars with less than 100 HP because it's too much of a speed disadvantage for them) until we get an official statement.

Do the GT4/GTP/GT5 Lancers all have 276hp? That wouldn't be entirely fair given the Evo III only has 256hp and Trial Mountain is a hilly circuit (therefore power more important than weight).

I think in that case a muffler tuning might help, that pushes the HP up to around... 270, if I remember correctly.

GT2 has no driver aids by default. You have to purchase them all seperately for 50K a pop. Makes driving the Le Mans cars an absolute bitch in slow twisty tracks. Thankfully the Lancer Evo III doesn't have so much power, but as soon as you reach about 400hp, you spend more time steering in the wrong direction that the right just to negate all the oversteer...

Yes there are, all of them. I think you have to go into the main settings menu for the game to switch it off, the same menu area that you set-up graphics options like TV position etc.

In the car setup menu, you can set TCS and ASM to be 0, i.e. to have no effect whatsoever on the car.
