in January,I decided to redevelop the entire f1 calender for this season and these are the results

I have built the extension which you designed and I extended the
straight from Ascari to a new hairpin which now makes for a possible
overtaking spot at Senna.

firstly, I decided to move turn 2 furthur away to try and promote
overtaking, I then added a 5th gear chicane between turns 3 and 4 on
the current circuit. I then rounded off turns 4 and 7 on the current
track before extending the run to turn 9 and rounding the tighter 2nd
apex from turn 10,the only other change I did after that was extend
the final hairpin slightly.

I started by making a flowing esse bend on the straight between turns
3 and 4 before turning my attention to the endurance layout. The
endurence layout has been made more flowing with some paribolica's,
after this the cars brake for the turn 8 hairpin which leads into the
new turn 9 which is a lot faster than it is at the moment. The next
thing I did was make turns 12,13,14 a triple apex sweeper and to end
the lap the cars bake for a more rounded off final turn.

Firstly, I modified the first 2 turns to promote overtaking, then the
cars arrive at the nissan chicane which can be taken in 4th/5th gear.
Turn 10 now has a sharper entry and a more sweeping exit, then the
cars enter a new extension as they go through a sweeping s bend into a
tight hairpin before the cars go down a straight into a tight chicane
built so that the cars can go through the final 2 turns as they were
meant to be taken.

I made silverstone feel more like was in the in the 1980's but with a
new loop which ends in a tight hairpin leading the cars onto the
wellington straight providing 2 new overtaking opportunities.

The track is as per normal until turn 7 where the cars go straight on
into the driver training center for turn 8, the cars then proceed
arround the short circuit until they rejoin the gp circuit through the

the back straight and just before the hairpin.

The first thing I did was round off degner to make it a more flowing
corner, the next mod I did was I moved 130r closer to the wall and
making it curve a bit more before its hard on the brakes for a chicane
as the cars then go round the sweeping final curve onto the pit
straight.

The first thing I changed was the 1.2km back straight insted making
the track curve left before the cars go into a sweeping right as the
cars join the national circuit before rejoining the gp circuit through
a sweeping left-right chicane before its hard on the bakes for turn 4,
the cars then its down a short straight into turn 5 before another
short straight into turn 6. Turns 10 and 11 have been made into a
sweeping s bend, the final mod I did was extend the straight before
turn 16 before the cars enter a hairpin before going around tuns 17
and 18.

Firstly i modified the first 2 turns to promote overtaking but the
last part is the most challenging because the cars go through a series
of sweeping esses before entering a curved braking zone into a
hairpin, the cars the go through a repilca of eau rouge on to the
current circuit.

First of all, I modified the esses to make them a bit more flowing
than they are at the moment, next I removed the frustrating stadium
section as it really comprimises the lap in my opinion.

Firstly, used the chicane after turn 4 to keep the flow going, after
that the cars go through turn 5 which is now a hairpin, the track
follows a short straight into the hairpin at turn 6 which is now
followed up with another short straight back onto the gp circuit.
Turn 10 has now become a hairpin which has a fast esse bend folowing
it, the final mod is the final 2 turns which have been rounded off to
create 1 sweeping turn.

The cars start the lap by going around the old curva 1 and curva 2
before blasing down the retao straight, the cars then enter a tight
chicane before the old curva 3 due to the lack of run off, the cars
the follow the the old track to feradura which has been moved forward
because after that, the cars come through the sweeper at subida do
lago before its down the reta opista. Ater that there is the longer
curva do sol before the new sweeping senna s leading directey into
sargento, the cars then come around the sweeping laranja corner onto
the current track. The final mod I made is a chicane on the
arquibancadas to slow the cars for the first 2 turns.

That would be rather steep and hilly, and possibly even rather narrow (more so than elsewhere) if my experience of Monaco (admittedly at less than an hour driving through) is anything to go by.

Assuming that it is flat out from half-way round Parabolica and all the way round Curva Granda, that's 1.5 miles and almost half the track at full throttle, probably half of which would be at 200+ mph. Can't see that happening, however much we might want it...

this time I must praise some of your designs Rob, much more to the liking of my eye than what you have been doing previously. Especially Silverstone is good, and whilst i don't agree with half the changes, some of those ideas would work imo

I'll only mention a couple of them for now:

Monaco is good now. It's the slowest track of the calendar, which makes it unique and shouldn't be drastically changed imo; making it faster (although I don't know about the suitability of the other streets) would make it 'just another street track'.
Montreal, whilst there could be some changes, 'fast kinks' are the last corners it needs; the track's nature is start-stop chicanes with walls close, and adding any quicker corners would be against its nature.
Suzuka, Degner essentially is why the Kobayashi Hairpin exists; it lets the car behind follow close and attempt an overtake in the hairpin, thus I would keep it as it is.
Yeongam, whilst the bending straight is a nice touch, I'd not have that triple hairpin there around kilometer 3, would turn it into only one hairpin (although THAT racetrack, if any, is a victim of its site - i doubt any racetrack could be good there in that grayness, so it's kind of a lost case lol)
Austin, the first corner hill should be made use of more than in real life

the back esses I did on Montreal was meant to emulate the old casino chicane used between 1978-1993
The alternative option for Yeongam is to demolish it IMO

Alright Rob, you want feedback. I will give you it.

Wembly Stadium looks good but I feel the last 2 km are a bit too convoluted of corners. The triple hairpin really is redundant and poor in one. 7 out of 10.

Manchester is okay. There are a ton of twisty bits that I am not fond of. Between kms 2 and 3 in particular. 5 out of 10.

K. C. This one has I tight section and a fast section. The way I like street courses. This is a 9 out of 10.

Madjeski is okay. The fast curving bit is good. But the high amount of slow, sharp corners make me go "BLAH!" 6 out of 10.

Madrid. Absolutely beautiful. Maybe including a longer straight could make it better but a 10 out of 10 otherwise.

The Portuguese need their GP back. But not here. Disgusting describes a 3 out of 10 here. Too long, too many corners, only 2 good straights.

Athens is good, but it has that twisty factor in there that makes me downgrade it. Too many bends in the first few km. 6 out of 10.

Birmingham is perfect. 10 out of 10. Perfect amount of overtaking opprotunities mixed in with speed. Well done

9 out of 10 for London. It's actually great, but it lacks that little bit extra in my eyes. Any slight improvement would make me say "perfect!"

Knockhill is okay. It's good, but not great. 6 out of 10.

Curghburgh looks okay. But I don't see passing at a high rate here. 5 out of 10.

This is exactly the Montjuic Circuit used by Formula 1 in 1969,1971,1973 and 1975.

No problem with feedback, as I will express my opinion on those next three!

Edinburgh looks fast, flowing, and if I'm not mistaken, over 100 meters in elevation change? Sounds sick! A few 90 degree corners in there. Doesn't hurt! 9 out of 10.

Belfast is another 9 out of 10. It has a fast layout, unlike most street circuits. Crossover as well? Awesome.

Valencia is okay. But a track like Valencia there shouldn't be modified. It is a good circuit as is. It's the lesson I have learned when I realized I'm the front runner for the worst track in this week's competition after redesigning Brno that I'm going to say to you. When you modify a good circuit like Brno or trifle with other circuits like Oulton Park and Brands, you feel ashamed of yourself. Like me, as I was doing all of that last night 6 out of 10.

Meh. Doesn't bring the character of old Hockenheim back. And who needs 4 arena sections? One motodrome is enough.

I'd suggest the following track for Hockenheim: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6039343
The idea is basically to bring the character of old Hockenheim back without cutting down too many trees, and keeping a hairpin for overtaking.

ostkurve chicane(for some ballsy downhill passing)

'82-91 rounded chicane
straight into the current Mercedes Arena
then the Old Stadium section

ALSO: plant some dang trees where there aren't grandstands/accommodations. don't clear out an air-field sized chunk of forest, plant trees over the old track which doesn't have nearly the same surface area, and call yourself a conservationist, Ecclestilke.

i felt your discription of Silverstone was good

I didnt like the last 3 corners at buenos aries because i personally felt they were a bit tight.

paris looked pretty cool and very fast

ausburg looked a little bit meh in my mind because of the tight corners

Oulton park is fine as it is right now IMO but at least you kepd Druids which is where Danny Watts famousley crashed a formula renault car in 2001.

Stowe looks okay. Kinda like the old Interlagos where it just twists back and forth and keeps doing it, which is a cool feature most racing tracks don't have. But the circuit overall is a meh. A lot of the corners are hairpins.

Monza should never be trifled with. You see, it is a classic, and should only be modified for safety at best. But despite this, it is a good layout. A bit concerned about the entrance to the Curva Grande.

Abu Dhabi is another meh. Keep the flow going with the first 5 turns, but I don't like the 3 hairpins, nor the fast kink in the straight. Keeping the rest of it intact was something I was okay with.

Rob, the last track has the same web address as Abu Dhabi and looks nothing like England, so tough luck on the last one, mate.

pittsburgh was pretty cool

Didn't really like pocono that much especially when one considers that it has a bigger infield area than Indy

Anyway, using street view on Google Maps it seems as though some of your Central Park routes were a bit narrow and it would be like Monaco.

Speaking of Central Park, I love that line from Die Hard: With A Vengeance when J. McClane rushes down Manhattan in a taxi to stop a bomb going off and takes a shortcut.

Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is good as is, but the chicane ensures the Pereltada can be run safely at fast speeds the way it was meant to be run. 9 out of 10.

New York is decent, but roads through Central Park would not work, as they are probably as narrow or even narrower than Monaco. What motor racing fan wants that? 7 out of 10.

Long Beach is a 9 out of 10. The new section increases the length of the straight while being complex and the track character seems to be there.

Zagreb looks awesome. It is on a hillside with elevation change. It is fast. It has overtaking opportunities. 9 out of 10. It lacked that little bit extra in it.

Glasgow is great as well. The first corner looks to be about 270 degrees. When do you see corners like that? Shanghai, but this is much better than Shanghai. 10 out of 10.

Sparsholt. Fast and has overtaking opportunities. Just like Zagreb, but with faster corners. As a result, a 10 out of 10 comes your way.

Jakarta is bad. It has straights, but there are too many damn chicanes and tight bends. Not appealing to me. 3 out of 10.

Mosport was pretty cool but i'm not sure on the section between 1km-2km 8/10

Le Mans looked cool and quite ballsy 9/10

I wasn't really that fussed on the Staten Island track 6/10

Chicago looked awesome 9/10

Corsica was like Chicago only more so 9.5/10

Ottowa was not my cup of tea in tearms of design 5/10

Bourg Saint Maurice was awesome 10/10

Since Silverstone and Thruxton look fairly similar and the runways are set up similarly, I felt an improbable urge to design that.
