Sammy Jones wrote:I'm absolutely delighted at the pace of Rosco, he's a real talent behind the wheel and from what I've seen already I've no doubt that he's going to go onto great things. Bearing in mind we're running last year's car, the CJR-103, with the old Ford engine, with Rosco's time I'm very excited when we bring the new package to the second test that we'll be very competitive indeed. We're strong midfielders at the moment, so our prospects for the season ahead must be very good indeed. My own times were more disappointing, but I'll make no secret about the fact that our efforts will be entirely behind Rosco this year anyway. I'll be there to give him as much support and advice as possible, help the team in the constructors' championship, and have a good time out on track, because that's what I've always striven to achieve in my racing.

Interesting to note just where Jones Racing's car from last year fits in with those that teams that have upgraded or bought new engines/chassis.

We still will develop the car and we have a private test coming up so I think we will be looking at ways to make the car fastest. So far I think Steele will get a win this season. I would like to extend an offer to Nathan McKane to test a Kamaha in the private Thruxton test.

We knew Audi had upped the ante big time, but even them are really smiling at what they're seeing. There's just one blip, and that is The Stig's car was misfiring for both test sessions, which is a shame. Perhaps we should look after our reliability, but it's definately nothing that can't be solved. Let's see what happens at the next test, when we'll also welcome Douglas to our team.

Pasta, the 2002 Arrows if you have it for the livery. If not, either Williams or Simtek from 1994.

Kingfisher make improvement.
Mr.Alexander was in good spirits today, after both cars lapped noticeably quicker than last year's machine. "To see David put the 6th quickest time on the board in the second day just highlights his talents. Ashley struggled a little, having barely sat in the car. But we are confident he will become quicker once he gets to grips with things."

Neuberg delighted!
"The car feels great! A real improvement from last year," said David after he stepped from the car at the end of day 2. "The team have worked tirelessly over the winter and the new engine really pushes you forward. Hopefully we can keep this up as we're right in the midfield."

Could we have each of the cars painted onto the chassis which they are in GP2, instead of random cars, if possible? So the MRT will be painted onto the Brabham BT55, the DGN will be on the Osella FA1G, and so on...

That was my plan RRR, but some of the cars are not available for rFactor, so a substitute has been used. (MRT - 1988 McLaren used the same design philiosophy as the BT55)
Also, I don't know which chassis Kingfisher are using.

Mark Dagnall:

I´m quite happy with the balance of the car. Despite using the same chassis as last season I´m quite happy with our position today, so everything looks good and we should be able to fight for wins early in the season, which is where we want to be. The new engine feels good and it´s more powerful than the old one; it requires a different driving style but we should be fine regarding top speed to the other cars

Chris Dagnall:

I´m obviously satisfied with what I´ve seen the last two days. The car seems good enough and the people at Chrysler left the track satisfied too. Hansuke has done an outstanding job and he´ll get more chances in the future. Mark gave us all the feedback we need to develop the car as hard as we can for the first Grand Prix. Now we´ll go to Estoril with a very important amount of data that we must confirm there.

Online betting company BetModa, have announced odds of teams to win the constructors championship.

DGN - 3/1

Still are one of the strongest teams after the test. Need more realiability though. Dagnall does have speed and should have good support from the two other drivers that are likely to share the second seat.

MRT - 3/1

MRT have a fast car, the question is going to be reliable? 23 retirements last season does mean they need a more reliable car. They have a strong driver line up with Nicolas and Davies but McKane will be looking for a drive next season.

Sunshine - 5/1

Sunshine were one of the most reliable teams last year with 10 retirements but they do seem to lack speed with Davies only 9th fastest and Katayama in 23rd even though they only have 7 tenths between them.

Gillet - 15/1

Although they were challenging last year, the current car seems a step backwards with Moll looking like posting up a DNQ.

Jones - 10/1

Were strong last year and have whacked in new updates for the new car. Vantini does seem a bright new talent but Jones is likely to score the odd points.

Kamaha - 8/1

Kamaha have kept with their car and have pumped in updates. Steele looks like he will score a win this season. However with 20 retirements last year and Mori seeming slow they are an outside chance.

Foxdale - 12/1

They have proved they are not going to drop out of the midfield but do they have the pace to win? McFry holding his own against Douglas Mann in 16th vs 13th.

Arrowtech - 16/1

Arrowtech had a great reliabilty record equaling Sunshine but do they have the speed to score podiums let alone wins? James doing well to be 9th fastest but Al Faisal was 32nd fastest but only three tenths behind Jones and Moll.

Holden - 22/1

Zimmer and Whitechappel have set some reasonable times but the reliability is going to be the biggest concern.

Aeroracing - 8/1

The new car does look impressive and with former world champion Pippa Mann at the helm they might indeed win, The Stig however does look like the weakest link.

Prospec - 14/1

Prospec scored 1 point last year, this year they should score more, but although Mestolio does look fast, Lon does seem like he is more likely to ending up as driver manager.

Boxtel - 25/1

Boxtel took over ARC, who also scored a single point but they do seem slower then Prospec and in danger of getting a number of DNPQs

Scuderia Alitalia - 16/1

Alitalia have made a good steps forward and Koczo with a strong 15th does look like he will get the team points. Fleet looks like his youthful shine has started to fade.

Dofasco - 250/1

Dofasco look like having another year of DNPQs, with both drivers getting 36th and 40th

Kingfisher - 12/1

Mitie last year were hopeless, but the new package looks like they might even get a podium or two. Neuberg popping up in 4th. Watkinson looks a bit out of his league though.

Mecha - 33/1

Mecha have a better package then last year and should prequalify but are not likely to score points.

Tropico - 25/1

Tropico looked like being one of teams destined to DNPQ all year round, although Darren Older Jr looks like he will struggle to prequalify, however Jiménez might be looking at a super licence before the season starts with a jaw dropping 8th fastest time.

Revolution - 50/1

More slight evolution rather then revolution, Shizuka shows he has speed by taking the car to 25th fastest but van Dycke looks hopelessly outclassed.

Simpson - 100/1

On paper, new team, Simpson do look like they have a nice package but in real life they are well behind. Melrose and Macklin will be disappointed with 33rd and 34th and Melrose might leave before then end of the season.

Autodynamics 150/1

Another new team and another team looking woeful with experienced drivers, and if they can survive a year they could improve next year but at the moment they look like racking up DNPQ after DNPQ.

Autosport wrote:Kamaha offer test to Nathan McKane
After McKane took the MRT to the top of the time sheets, Barii Mori has officially offered a test to Nathan McKane at the Thruxton test , he said "McKane does look impressive and we would love to have him at a test and we hope he does accept". A few other team owners have mumbled that Kamaha are only doing this to get more publicity.

Barii Mori to retire?
Rumours are going round the paddock that the fact that Mori wants to test McKane is a sign that Mori looks like retiring, although Mori was quick to deny this by saying "Has that old fool Jones, been saying that I am past it? I shall be racing this season and I will qualify for every race too. Although I want to test McKane, Jesus Plaza is our reserve driver and he will replace either Steele or me if we can not race.". Mori currently holds the record for most starts without a win and most points without a win and he has said he will not retire until he wins.

Drivers to retire at the end of the season?
After some poor times in testing, there are rumours that Daniel Melrose, Dean O´Lauchlan, Darren Older Jr, Damon Cannon, Ashley Watkinson, Nathanael Spencer, Aurelien Moll, Sammy Jones and Kay Lon may all retire or be fired before the year ends. Some have lost any speed they had at the start of their careers, others may leave before they loose what prestiage they had.

Tropico desperate to get Renaldo Jiménez a Super Licence?
With Jiménez whacking in quick times for Tropico, getting a 8th fastest time that most felt was more impressive then Nathan McKanes run, there are rumours that Tropico are desperate to try and get him a Super Licence so he can race, it is likely that Darren Older Jr would be made a reserve driver or fired. However with the current rules it is unlikely he will get a licence.

Kingfisher to win?
A team insider has told us that he feels that the team will be the most improved team this year and will get a win with David Neuberg. Although one test does not mean anything, we do feel that Kingfisher is the most improved over all the prequalifying team.

Aeroracing's team leader and former racer Phoenix McAllister has stated that legendary driver Daniel Melrose should retire inmediately after his poor times during the first pre-season test, in which he was consistently near the back of the field and not dominating over his rookie team-mate Mitchell Macklin, as was expected.

"The Simpson car looks plain slow. Why is Melrose still bothering when he's already won everything? Furthermore, why he's still bothering when he's driving for a team other than his own? It's like the guy who pays a gigolo for his girl."

"No wonder MRT has been humiliated by DGN last year. They have a faster car, but the team's management was shoddy at best. Not that I did any better last year, but at least I was driving for my own team. So do Sammy Jones and Barii Mori, and so did Gary Cameron last year. You can't manage your team if you have to divide your attentions between managing it while you drive for another one. I can't imagine how can Melrose combine both things."

"If Melrose knows what's better, he will retire and concentrate on managing his own team", he concluded.

Mr. Melrose was unavailable for comments.

Boxtel would like to know if it costs them money to go to the test. If not, we would like to head over to try out some new parts and drivers.

Is this the same Phoenix McAllister who has recruited Pippa Mann, boss of Foxdale Auto Racing Team, to Aeroracing? Will one of his own drivers have their attention divided?

Note that this has been written by T.U.R.D., which is of the same quality as J.O.U.R.N.A.L and S.H.I.T., so it may not necessarily reflect McAllister's opinions

AdrianSutil, I'm having trouble identifying some logos on the Kingfisher. The ones I can't make out are the ones on the rear wing endplates, the logo on the top of the nose by the cockpit, the logo on the front wing, and the logo behind the suspension :)

"It appears I'm the most wanted man for the F1RWRS that doesn't have a reject license. It was a great experience to drive the MRT, and the pace I showed shocked the paddock, even myself. Offers from numerous teams have come in for me to do private tests for them, including a very public offer from Barii Mori. As of right now, I'm open to a lot of options, but the main goals for me is the ROLFS season and getting a Reject license..."

Rear-wing end plate: Adidas and Km-Extra: http://www.kentonline.co.uk/images/temp ... m_logo.gif (Kent newspaper)
Logo by cockpit: Jack Daniels
Logo on front wing: : Doimo: http://www.seeklogo.com/images/D/Doimo- ... go.com.gif
Logo by front suspension: Demon Tweeks: http://resources.centralindex.com/d/dem ... 5f8a68.jpg :)

Edit: The reason why most of the logos are blurred is because I had massive resizing issues when copying the images from a website and going onto the small picture of the kingfisher livery. Plus, if I saved a 'work in progress' it would be all blurred when I re-opened it, messing up the lines of the car. Shame.

Autosport wrote:Foxdale and Aeroracing to merge?
Rumours are abound that Pippa Mann will be merging the Foxdale team with Aeroracing. With Douglas Mann and Pippa Mann driving for both teams during the season the rumour does seem to have some basis, there is no real reason why the Manns should share a drive as Pippa Mann probably has the talent still to win races in either car. It could be that they are sharing technology but as the two cars are different this is not likely. Both team bosses have refused to answer our calls to talk about the possible merger.

Revolution may have more drivers at Thruxton test
Revolution are likely to test Marie Simon as well at the upcoing Thruxton test, currently only Gio Van Dycke is listed but Hagane Shizuka is keen to make sure the car is as fast as possible to make sure that he can qualify the car. Hagane is likely to whack some laps in too to get used to the new car.

Kamaha sweeten McKane deal
Kamaha have offered McKane a crate of papayas to test in Thruxton, although McKane has not decline the test, he has not accepted the drive. McKane knows that the test will help him get a Super Licence and the experience will help him.

Boxtel to test at Thruxton too?
Boxtel have hinted that they would like to test at Thruxton but they are currently looking at the costs and if they can afford the 10K to run the test, however they might decide they really need the test to gain the experience

Melrose regretting move?
After a very poor first test, a close source to Melrose has said that Melrose had some stern words with Dave Simpson about the Simpson car and is resigned himself to being in the DNPQ club for the rest of the season. Phoenix McAllister has already said that Melrose should resign and there have been other personal that have saidt he same thing. Simpson have announced some upgrades but will they be enough to improve the hopeless car.

With numerous rumours that Simpson Motorsport driver Daniel Melrose is retiring to avoid being knocked out in Pre-Qualifying, one of the names mentioned to replace Melrose is Sebastian Groves. Groves, who replaced Melrose in the last two races of the 2013 season at ArrowTech after leaving for nothing, really, and scored three points. He also drove for Dofasco Racing for most of the 2014 season as well. Groves has said that he would have to resign from his drive in the RoFLS to drive with Simpson Motorsports, but said that he would be happy to drive for them. The Fox, who has Groves under contract as a test driver with ArrowTech, said that Groves, if he had an offer signed, would be allowed to drive for Simpson. Melrose and Simpson were not available for comments.
