Brabham will test at Brands Hatch, and go for a medium reliability upgrade. We'd also like to invite Tyrrell along to the test, as a chance to discuss matters before the Paris meeting.

Renault would be interested in giving Brabham a discount on their engines if they were to apply to join the ACF... ;)

Actually, Brabham would like to leave the CA and apply for the ACF. Mostly because we'd like to see Horford banned for a long time.

Excellent! Naturally, Renault will support Brabham's bid to join the ACF. Since we scheduled the test at Silverstone, we will extend the invitation to all ACF applicants in addition to ACF members, unless our fellow members have any objections. So unless somebody throws a fit, you can test at Silverstone now, if you want.

FISA declines to offer this incentive.

With FISA declining entry applications for undisclosed reasons, Toleman had reasons to beleive that his squad could make it. "We have some good funding secured from the Candy washing machine company. F1 is the place to be right now"

To try and keep this series a little closer to Real Life, Toleman will be a new team on the grid right now. At the moment, I'm offering control of Toleman to EastLondoner, tristan1117, AdrianSutil and Stramala. I'm offering to you exclusively first because you control real-life teams that didn't compete in this or next season. You don't have to accept this offer, but if you did, Toleman would be treated as an entirely new constructor with no relation to your previous team, which would cease to exist.

  • condemn Brabham for leaving CA
  • condemn Horford for dangerous driving
  • persuade any other unaligned teams (mainly Ferrari) to join the Assembly

Actually, I'll extend the offer of managing Toleman to everyone who is currently a manager of a team in this series. If you would like to manage Toleman, please say, and things will be sorted out accordingly. As I've said, it will be a fresh slate. If you apply to manage Toleman and your team is fictional or did not compete in 1981 in real life, it will be shut down, and for everyone else your team will be offered to someone else :P

This also brings me to the discussion for the mod that I will use to simulate 1981. Currently, there is two choices - continue using the 1979 mod that I'm currently using, switch to the 1982 mod, or switch to the 1983&1984 mod. The only downside to using the 1982 mod is that currently the cars of some of the smaller teams (March, Osella) have not been released yet. If we decide to switch to the 1983&1984 mod, Ground effects will be banned for 1981. Thoughts?

I'll wait until all test requests are in, but here's a brief overview of who's testing where.

SILVERSTONE / ACF MEMBERS ONLY /

Renault - Jean-Pierre Jabouille / Carlos Reutemann / Jérémy-Étienne Voeckler
Brabham - Larry Perkins / Nelson Piquet
Ligier - Jacques Laffite / Ed Kevin

MUGELLO / NO RESTRICTIONS

Merzario - Mario Andretti / Emerson Fittipaldi / Michele Alboreto / Simone Guidetti

The test scheduled for Silverstone is for ACF-Members only, I'm afraid. You can either apply to join the ACF or reschedule the test to another venue.

This wrote:RAM request a Medium engine torque update. RAM wants to go testing the new engine at Avus. Because we are totally mad

The only reason I'm denying this is because AVUS is a street track, and you can't test on street circuits!

About test drivers, I've noticed that many teams haven't nominated any test/reserve drivers. I'll EVENTUALLY get around to editing the first post, but you can check what teams have nominated who for their test/reserve slots on the 1980 F1 season page on the F1Rejects wiki. It's also a handy place to get an overview of the season, including full driver and constructor's championship results.

Each team can have a maximum of 4 official test/reserve drivers. Any real life driver can be a test/reserve driver, provided that they could theoretically enter Formula One. (For instance, no hiring Schumacher when he's 7). Of course, there is no limits on fictional drivers, provided you provide me with a credible backstory as to who they are before they debut. Any driver who is nominated as a test driver I will automatically assume will attend a test scheduled for your team UNLESS YOU TELL ME OTHERWISE. Of course, you are free to test drivers who you have NOT nominated as test/reserve drivers.

Horford's ban Meeting

The FISA-Constructors meeting will take place in the mibbit chatroom #HorfordBan. Mibbit home: http://client02.chat.mibbit.com/, in the channel box type #HorfordBan. You are free to join and discuss the meeting now, but official proceedings will not start until later on.

Aerond wrote:Toleman will start in 1981; we may enter one car before season ends; but for now we'll wait until next season.

I'm opening the 1981 rules package to discussion, join the official F1Rejects chatroom to discuss 1981 rules.

Renault would like to take this opportunity to remind Tyrrell that Audi have already stated publicly that they do not wish to join any political groups, and even if they did, we doubt that they would want to join the so-called "Constructors' Assembly", which is made up of Tyrrell and no other teams, as opposed to the vibrant ACF, which is composed of many teams from up and down the grid.
