Rain may be on it's way to Sandown... couldn't be a race in Victoria without some interruption from the weather.
This is a cool spot.

There's indeed a weather system near Cressy heading straight for Sandown (Which is in Springvale if anyone was wondering)

I can't think of HRT ever doing that as regularly or to the same level as FPR, and this year is really the only time that they have been is championship contention. And besides I have been a HRT fan as long as I can remember so I am still supporting them even though they have been crap recently.

I'm actually very tempted to do this. I s'pose I should start from 2005, where they (well, T8 anyway) were actually competitive.

I meant having a realistic shot at the title. The only way Winterbottom was going to win the title was if Courtney and Whincup stuffed up.

(Which did happen, but Winterbottom didn't gain anything because he crashed at the same corner  )

Tekno must be ripping their hair out now as one car's gone off at turn 1 and the other one just got shoved heavily into the wall at pit entry in the space of about a lap.

Lowndes has passed Whincup and Frosty's catching the pair of them. Let the fun begin.

EDIT: And yet again, it's Whincup throwing it off the road while Dumbrell seems to have no problem whatsoever

What I find worrying is that T8 and FPR were nowhere after qualifying and yet still filled out the podium. Hopefully the COTF will shake things up, because this is becoming slightly ridiculous.

Of all the T8 and FPR cars that is the one that I actually don't mind winning. I still think that the move by Winterbottom was little more than pushing Whincup out of the way

Apparently Mercedes will announce at 1pm today that it is joining V8 Supercars with SBR. Holdsworth, Giz and Slade in E-Classes next year ...

One M. Schumacher for the Gold Coast in 2013?

By the way, it's an awesome Gold Coast field this year from a reject perspective. Six of them! Bourdais, D. Brabham, Montagny, Wilson, Papis, Sarrazin. Plus Salo and Morbidelli. Oh and I forgot Nick Heidfeld because he's just so ... boring ...

But why do V8 Supercar teams keep looking to Indycar or US sportscar racing (noting that a lot of Europeans weren't available this year due to a date clash)? IMHO they could do worse than look to South America, like the Brazilian V8 series or the Argentine scene, where the cars are likely to be more similar to V8 Supercars. Except obviously some little-known Brazilian isn't going to generate the publicity of, say, a Marco Andretti.

Not sure if this should be in the MotoGP forum or this one ... Decided on putting it here.

Strong rumours that Casey Stoner is looking for a V8 drive :

He then went on to answer the million-dollar question as to whether he would be contesting the V8 Supercar Championship any time soon: "I’m hoping to; it’s been a long time dream of mine. Just recently I’ve shown more interest. It’s been around since I’ve been 12 or 14 years old. I’ve had a huge passion for V8s. I have to be realistic whether I’ll be quick enough or not to be competitive, but it’s something I’d like to give a go, and I’ll definitely be around the paddock."

Speaking about his decision to retire from MotoGP™ at a relatively young age he added: "It’s disappointing for me as well. We’ve put so many years of hard work in to get there, but for me it was the right time to leave. I’m loosing a lot of passion for the sport at the moment, so for me it was important to get out while I still enjoy motorcycling and racing in general."

Stoner may remain tight-lipped on his direct future after MotoGP, though gave a strong indication his switch to V8s may happen soon: "In the not too distant future I could be here, you never know."

It's interesting that Nissan is going all out with the Kellys, yet SBR won't actually have full Mercedes backing. I have a feeling that if they don't win something next year, it could be a very short partnership. But it does give an excuse to support Holdsworth again

And as for the Stoner rumours, they've been around since Bathurst last year, even before he announced his retirement. If he races next year, it'll just be an enduro drive with T8 at best (and Tekno or LDM at worst.)
