I doubt it will happen there but I cannot doubt it will happen sometime this year if improvements are made on the cars.

Yes, but it is easier to make up ground when you are 4 to 5 seconds of the pace. So when these small teams bring updates their expectations are somewhat real because if the data from the upgrade says they will gain 2 sec and McLaren or Red Bull, who also bring updates, only make .5 each time (for instance), it is likely they will really improve.

Absolutely right. See Law of Diminishing Returns.
The upgrades that every team is bringing to Turkey shouldn't change the order too much, although occasionally someone manages a massive update that drastically improves their car and completely upsets the natural order of things. No matter how much better the updated HRT is (and I for one hope they have improved A LOT), the realistic target can only be to get closer and / or beat Virgin.
