Gulf JCW signs first driver

For their first year in the F3RWRS, Gulf Racing have signed up promising young British driver Roland Davidson. The 17 year old has been successful in Formula BMW, finishing 3rd in last years championship running a limited schedule. He also is the youngest driver to win the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch, at only 15 years of age back in 2013.

What I recommend is moving the Shonan livery to either Campos or Racing Engineering as I know for a fact those only allow one main livery and moving Octan to the vacated slot. It saves time as well as having to mess around with wad files and the like which are definitely a crapload of fun to do.

It has been exclusively revealed to Autosport today that Josh Carlisle, the young English driver signed to drive for Jones Racing in the 2015 F3RWRS season, could potentially be out of the team before the season has even started. Rumours have been circulating that team owner Sammy Jones has requested funding from Carlisle, who has so far failed to generate a meaningful amount. Having been backed by Nestle during 2014, Carlisle's somewhat mediocre performances in the RoLFS series led to the Swiss confectionery giant ending it's support of the driver.

It has since been confirmed that Jones has contacted a number of other drivers who currently do not have confirmed drives for 2015. Carlisle had a solid debut in the series for Falik Arrows Juniors, driving in the final two rounds for the team. Initially contracted to Falik Arrows for 2015, Carlisle was able to switch to Jones Racing following an agreement between Prince Falik and Sammy Jones, but it seems that Falik may yet get his way with the driver. Names touted as potential replacements to Carlisle include Jack Christopherson Jr, Dan Greenlaw, Aurelio Bandini and rookie South African Danny van Rijkens, though it remains to be seen whether any will usurp Carlisle.

Lancia Competizione Powertrain S.r.L. has welcomed another new team to its engine supply fold in the Formula 3 Reject World Race Series, with reigning champions Pemberton Prospec Racing agreeing a deal to run the all new Lancia 015/3 powertrain, along with existing partner team Parma Corse. The two outfits were two of the most successful teams on the grid in 2014, and Lancia certainly looks set for success in 2015.

However, Mika Salonen says the Prospec deal is not enough, and wants more teams involved with the iconic Italian marque in future.

"We feel we have a great product, one of the best in the world," he said. "I had hoped that another team or two would consider taking our supply of engines, but I think it is still indicative of the quality of product we are supplying that the reigning champions would select us to power their cars."

"We would like to establish some kind of dialogue with the other teams at some point next year and discuss the possibility of them using Lancia power in 2016. We feel we have the best product on the grid, and hopefully good results in 2015 will sway the teams that went with other manufacturers for next year."

All it is is a reversal of the colours from last year's F2 livery. Effort required = 0

At the team's formal presentation today, team principal of the Jones Racing F3RWRS team, Sammy Jones, revealed his plans for the upcoming 2015 season. Having initially signed Josh Carlisle to the team despite Falik Arrows Juniors' protests, Jones has now turned his back on Carlisle, leaving him free to join Prince Falik's team, becoming their first confirmed driver. For Jones though Carlisle's place has been filled by interesting Italian talent Roberto Dinella who competed in the final two races of the 2014 RoLFS season for Grands Travaux Inutiles. Dinella brings with him healthy backing from metals company Lampre who also maintain a strong presence in world cycling's ProTour with their own team. This has resulted in the 2015 JR-301 cars featuring a large amount of pink in their livery, alongside the now commonplace Castrol green who continue their minor support of Jones' F3RWRS effort, unlike their title sponsorship of his F2 and F1RWRS teams. Alongside Dinella who will run a full campaign, is Belgian Eric Swerts, returning for a second year with the team after some promising results in 2014. Swerts will only drive part-time in the series however, dovetailing the drive with a chance at the Gillet team in a limited number of races in the F2RWRS. It's not yet known who will fill in for Swerts in the F3RWRS races that he is absent.

Addressing the assembled media, Jones said, "The new JR-301 car looks absolutely fantastic, and I think it will go one better than we did in 2014 and clinch one or even both of the championships on offer. In Roberto and Eric we have two very exciting young talents, and I'm also hoping to give another young driver a chance when Eric is away with Gillet in the F2RWRS. It's true that Roberto's financial backing has had an influence on his signing for the team, but nonetheless he has proven himself in his career long before Lampre decided to support him, and that is more than enough as far as I'm concerned to justify his place in the team."
