This comes to you from the Year 2097. If this is what the future sounds like, I want to be a part of it!

I think it's very good music for race highlights video in F1 or another high-paced motorsport. I loved it. :)

This would be the future that I want to be part of.

During this incredibly long summer holiday (I've already been off for a month), I've ended up getting myself addicted to Never Mind The Buzzcocks. I appear to be in a minority of people who like both Mark Lamarr and Simon Amstell as host. Hopefully the BBC will find a new permanent host from the next series.

With that in mind, enjoy the very first episode of Buzzcocks, all the way back from November 1996.

I liked both Lamarr and Amstell too. Can't wait for the new series to start.

I'd fallen a little bit out of love with Mumford & Sons, but having had Sigh No More playing a lot in the car on holiday, I'd forgotten how good it was. I guess I find it's a far better album than Babel. This gem is one of the many reasons why.

Does anyone else use This Is My Jam? I find its a pretty nifty but not overbearing way to share music!

A great song for a sunny summer afternoon/evening.

There is a small chance that I'll be seeing OCS when they come to Norwich in November.

Some more Dave Grohl magic for your listening pleasure.

Strangely enough, although I still really like Foo Fighters, I have completely gone off Nirvana over the last year and a half, which means they've become the latest band that I once liked, but no longer wish to listen to. (The Verve, Muse, Lostprophets, Smashing Pumpkins and The Killers the other bands in that category for me). Very odd. :?

Black Sabbath's new album '13' came with the mail today.
I have to admit, I was a little apprehensive before giving it a first go. I mean, how would Tony/Geezer/Ozzy be able to top the amazing
'The Devil You Know'? Ronnie's swansong...
I guess you could say I was a bit afraid of being let down.
But so far, two songs in and I'm liking it, a lot. 8 to 9 minute songs both, and they certainly got that Iommi touch I love.
Reminds me a bit of the 'Iommi' album from 2000.

The artwork is truly dreadful, though.

Yes, I have listened to them ever since 2001. Amazingly talented bunch of guys and a whole host of 10/10 songs in their catalog.

The only Sigur Ros song I've actually listened to in full is Hoppipolla. I feel so common. I'll get my coat and hide away from the braying mob.

Lush - Undertow

More women with guitars is what's needed nowadays. The 90s were awash with them.

Some guy convinced me to go standing on the front row when they were at a festival in my town, some years back. It doesn't happen easily that live music gives me the shivers, but this had just done that. I would advice everybody to do the same.
I don't actually know any of their songs, though.

My favourite band even though I understand none of their lyrics. The latest album is a bit heavier but still awesome.

Somehow, I can place myself writing something similar to that...did you like last year's 'Valtari'?

Tonight i'm going to watch a show of Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg. It's not the real Ramones, but it's the closest i'll ever get to seeing them. (as most of them are, obviously, dead). I'm still curious about how good it is.
At least, if it turns out to be a dissapointment, i'll always have Mad Caddies playing at the same festival, which is always a good choice. (altough i've seen them literally a dozen times, and probably even more)

Valtari was very good, if a little "safe". In other words, if it was the first Sigur Ros album I'd heard I'd think it was amazing but because I've heard the others I wasn't so excited.

Give Warpaint a go if you get the chance...I'm potentially going to see them in Manchester in October.

Well, 'safe' is generally associated with a fear of the critical viewpoint, but I don't think that's how Sigur Ros works. Jonsi once said that he makes the music he likes, and if others like it, he's happy. I don't think he was trying to be safe, just lazy probably :P but yeah, I personally liked it very much, especially 'Varud', 'Daudalogn' and 'Ekki mukk'...

The Boo Radleys - Wake Up Boo

In addition to being possibly the most upbeat song ever written in the history of the world, in the music video the Boos appear to have roped that muppet David Cameron into playing bass guitar. :P

Very underrated band, the Boos were. Some of their earlier material before 1995 is incredible. Their Britpop album "Wake Up" was pretty good as well.

How were they? I got a glimpse of them last year at Download but can't say I've seen them.

Speaking of comedy bands, I saw Electric Six last weekend :D
