Right, I return! I had massive trouble getting on the forum on Sunday (in that I couldn't any time I tried, and it wasn't the internet, because Faceache and last.fm were working) and I've been very busy since then. However, I see there are no "new" entries, i.e. from people who don't have a team yet. I was going to say "those of you with one team, start thinking about building a second" but I see some of you have done. Marvellous.

the Masked Lapwing wrote:If I can have a second entry:

Standard Holden again.
Drivers:
Peter Brock (we'll need the hologram here): S/C 60/65 (125)
Warren Luff: S/C 50/25 (75)
Paul Dumbrell: S/C 50/25 (75)
100+125+75+75 = 325
Yes, this is an excuse to have the greatest driver of all time return to the Mountain. With two drivers who are, well, crap. And I'm fairly certain I have the numbers right this time

Now... this was potentially a problem, in that I intended to name the race trophy the Peter Brock Cup. There was also the possibility of calling it the Denny Hulme Cup as well, only he was a New Zealander. However - three of the four F1RMGP trophies have been named after F1 Rejects, so this one really shouldn't be named after either an Aussie V8 legend or a F1 Drivers' Champion. I have an idea what I should call it instead, and I'll reveal it before the qualifying. Either way, nobody else has come up with a hologrammatic driver, so if your team gets the nod, you can certainly have Peter Brock in one of the cars. I haven't been following the V8 Supercars thread on the EVDP forum too closely, but would I be right in thinking Paul Dumbrell is something of a V8 Supercars reject, and what about Warren Luff?

If you re-read what I said...
dinizintheoven wrote:...I'll say that if there are still free slots by the end of April 18th, then I will open up the remaining grids for those running a car...

...that means, April 18th has to have finished. But to avoid any confusion, I'll say this means that the remaining five garages will be opened to existing entrants at 00:01, GMT+1, on April 19th. Call it "late tomorrow evening", because I imagine I'll still be up. I will set an alarm for that time and (hopefully I'll remember...) put up a post saying the garages are open, but if the timestamp on the forum post says 00:01 on April 19th (or later), that'll be acceptable.

Well Bathurst 1000 already awards the Peter Brock trophy to the winners, and Dumbrell and Luff while not technically rejects are both useless. Now let me just do some time conversions here...

Sorry, entirely my fault. I had misread it as "if there are still free slots by 18th April." I must have just missed the words, 'the end of.'

FIRST CHOICE

- an intention to fill a particular garage (e.g. "H3")
H8

- a team name, which does not necessarily have to be one from any existing series, but it can be
Foxdale Auto Racing Team

- a car number (from 1 to 40, of those that are not already taken)
20

- the car is determined by what garage the team slots in (i.e. a Holden in garage H3), but any tweaking of the car's stats (P/R ±20, or a qualifying adjustment) should be given
Holden - 50, 50 (100)

- three drivers, along with their stats - whether they're F1RMGP drivers with tweaked stats (S/C ±10) or drivers from other series, in which case the stats should be given from scratch
Susie Wolff 57, 48 (105)
Pippa Mann 55, 32 (87)
Ben Fleet 40, 43 (83)

- an acknowledgement that the total points of the team has not exceeded the maximum for that garage (i.e. put the total in).
100 + 105 + 87 + 83 = 375

Ooops a minute too soon. On time this time?

And...

The remaining garages are now OPEN to existing team managers!

Edit: ye gods, dr-baker, that was quick! I didn't think there would actually be anyone waiting to post on the minute. Which configuration are you going with, then?

You assured yourself that you would be at home, at midnight no more no less, counting out the time to post on a Formula 1 forum an entry to a virtual race which you will not even be able to play. And you did this while you're 30, having as rivals a few teens/late teens.

Can you spot anything wrong in the previous paragraph?

Giovanna Amati was rated S42/C62 for the 2014 WEC season, so I can't reduce her stats to anything below S32/C52. That'd put you 19 points overdrawn which, provisionally, I'm going to knock off Giovanni Roda's skill (due to his exceptionally rejectful performances in F1RWRS, the 2013 season in particular). That does at least bring the points total back to where it should be.

Other than that, we're all set to go... and I can start building the Wiki page properly, though it won't be quite right without these last two car numbers. And I'll carry out a few more tests when I've done that. Pencil in April 28th-30th for the qualifying sessions, and May 1st-12th for the race "updates". This should be a good one.

And so! I present the Wiki page for the 24 Hour V8 Bathurst Enduro, and also the first iteration of the page specific to the 2014 race. I'll add the entry list next.

What I need you all (or, at least, some of you - preferably those involved) to check I haven't bollocksed up any details. In particular, some of the other series recorded on the Wiki aren't in anywhere near as tidy a state as the F1RMGP pages (which I've still got to do a fair bit of updating on even now...), and that's made my job of identifying who the other (i.e. non-F1RMGP) champions are a lot harder. I can count five:
- Shinobu Katayama, 2011 LFS Cup
- Niko Bellic, 2011 REECCS
- Pippa Mann, 2012 F1RWRS
- Mitchell Macklin, 2014 F2RWRS
- Cave Johnson, 2014 Rejects of LFS

Have I missed any? I thought there's be more, but no Zimmers in this race are champions (and only Frank is competing here), Jack Christopherson is not competing, and neither is Mark Dagnall...

Also, there's something I need those of you running British drivers - or at least drivers racing under the Union flag - to do. With the Scottish National Party having stirred up enough anti-English sentiment north of the border to vote for Scotland to secede from the UK "within the next few years" (holding the referendum exactly 700 years to the day of the Battle of Bannockburn was the ace Alex Salmond had up his sleeve all along), the F1RMGP Series Management have decided to run British drivers under their own home nation flags in this race, a system which was going to be enforced anyway in the 2015 F1RMGP season. So, those of you running British drivers, be aware that "British" no longer exists in this race, and if it's not obvious which of the home nations' flags to use for each driver, I will put the pirate flag in place, as a placeholder until there's confirmation which one I should use. Dave McFaste was the only one I could think of who was denoted as not English, and he is dead; I know there's the Manns as well, who have been racing under the Manx flag, and that won't change. I wonder if any of these drivers will be revealed as being Channel Islanders?

The same applies to the teams as well; for teams which run in other Reject series and are given national flags on the Wiki, I'll include those as they are - although, never forget F1RMGP rules allow only one flag per driver or team and if there are those running in other series under two flags, I'll pick the one that seems most appropriate. Those which are not obvious in any way (i.e. the Cillit Bang! Trabant Factory Team) will also be given a pirate flag until there is confirmation which national flag the team should be run under.

For the Manns, Douglas is Manx, but Pippa describes herself as English, I believe. Also, I remember that James Davies, all three of him, is Welsh.

It is done... but I really want to get rid of those pirate flags.

TEAMS:
Gulf Ford Racing Team (Australia?)
Red Bull World Racing Team (Austria?)
Cillit Bang! Trabant Factory Team (Germany?)
Zombie Conglomerate (who knows?)
Psycho Soldiers (Japan?)
Team Ultimate (UK, but which part?)

Virgin MRT run under the German and Australian flags in F1RWRS, but from what I can see of the current state of the team from the MRT Wiki page, the correct flag is of Germany, due to where they're based.

DRIVERS:
Nick Percat (I have no idea)
Ben Fleet (UK, but which part?)
Martin McFry (USA?)

Also, I still need numbers for Virgin MRT's B team (garage F7) and for Autobacs Nippon, who I've assumed are Japanese.

RBWRT will probably be Australian like they are in every other series. Zombie Conglomerate are American usually, but who knows what Tristan might come up with...

dinizintheoven wrote:What I need you all (or, at least, some of you - preferably those involved) to check I haven't bollocksed up any details. In particular, some of the other series recorded on the Wiki aren't in anywhere near as tidy a state as the F1RMGP pages (which I've still got to do a fair bit of updating on even now...), and that's made my job of identifying who the other (i.e. non-F1RMGP) champions are a lot harder. I can count five:
- Shinobu Katayama, 2011 LFS Cup
- Niko Bellic, 2011 REECCS
- Pippa Mann, 2012 F1RWRS
- Mitchell Macklin, 2014 F2RWRS
- Cave Johnson, 2014 Rejects of LFS
- Douglas Mann, 1998 F1 Challenge Championship

Added one to the list.

Right, nationalities.

My Drivers

Douglas and Pippa Mann - both Manx (my Pippa Mann is NOT the real Pippa Mann, therefore of a slightly different nationality) (Douglas Mann is from Douglas, Isle of Man...)
Ben Fleet - Essex, England
Martin McFry - California, USA
Susie Wolff - Oban, Scotland
Alice Powell - Oxford, England

My Teams

Foxdale Auto Racing Team - Foxdale, Isle of Man
West Cliff Racing - based in Essex, England, but racing under a Northern Irish licence due to running a DeLorean

The Trabant team obviously comes from the DDR! (East-Germany)Although this nation doesn't exist anymore, so if not allowed, they'll race under North-Korean flag instead!

Now, what do I do here? I looked back through the F1CC thread, found the 1997 season, and found Daniel Melrose was the champion... aged 12. Or are there two Daniel Melroses in the same way that there are three James Davieses?

And, wait a minute... Douglas Mann was 13 on winning the 1998 F1CC.

Kids these days, eh? That BBC prediction about Miami Hamilton might have some truth in it after all.

EDIT: champions they are anyway, seeing as Dr Francesca Rimmer can now violate the rules of space and time at will. (Beat that, Stephen Hawking!) And I see kostas22 has filled in Nick Percat's and Tony D'Alberto's info - so, we have got some V8 Supercar drivers in the line-up after all!

Crack on...

The 1997 season also had Nick Nurmester driving in it, yet I've later set him to have born in 1988 (because I had totally forgot about F1CC by the time I got Nurmester into the RWRS universe).

Zombie Conglomerate is an American team.

Yes, that is correct.

Also, my other car will use #4

Right, seeing as how I didn't get my second entry (I did have time to take the last Ford garage, but I wouldn't take it - I'm a true Holden supporter, unlike someone I know), so I'm going to modify my other one. Replace Davies with Peter Brock (keep his stats), and Zimmer with Mark Skaife (keeping his stats too). Percat remains the same.

Why do you think I went for Nissan when dr-baker went after H8? :)

I had a brilliant plan for a Nissan if the train from the city had been fast enough. Skaife + Richards + maybe Neil Crompton (he drove the #2 Skyline to the podium). Always have a backup plan
