RIP Maria de Villota

In my opinion, it's actually a bit too much. I'd guess that 95% of the people that praise her "inspirational personality" and what a "great woman" she was didn't even know her personally. I also feel that for all of her "achievements", her death received a bit too much coverage in the media.

I guess it's pretty inevitable, in all cases like this. Most people are sincere in their sympathies.
While others, sadly, take opportunities like this, to draw attention to themselves instead, in the media. Sad but true.

Awful news. I find it hard to believe its not related to her accident, perhaps she couldnt cope and had been unhappy for a while. Either way its put me off F1 for a while.

When i first heard the news i thought it was related to her accident. in fact people are goign to jump to the conslusion that it was because of her accident.

The Family have stated that the cause of death was neurological complications as a result of the injuries incurred. See post above.

It's been confirmed - Maria de Villota died due to neurological complications arising from her accident last year.
