Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Brands Hatch GP Up!
Can I get any money back for selling my BMW 320s? I know I can't spend money I get back on upgrading the SEATs; this is fine.

I don't think that would be particularly fair unless I let everybody else sell their '09 cars, which would mess up the budgets; sorry, you can't as of yet.

We'll be fine. It's Canon, non Kodak.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Brands Hatch GP Up!
Here are the upgrade RNGs before the rounds at Oulton Park:
Motorbase Race Pace I
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result:27, meaning Motorbase makes some improvements to their Civics in their quest to avoid having to pre-qualify...
Motorbase Race Pace II
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result: 9, ...and follow this up with further developments
Motorbase Quali Pace
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result:96, so attempts to improve the horrendous qualifying performances this year are not successful.
Boulevard Engine Power I
1-50 Succeed, 51-100 Fail
Result: 75, meaning Boulevard blows more money on fruitless development
Boulevard Engine Power II
1-50 Succeed, 51-100 Fail
Result: 92, leaving Boulevard with no development and an even bigger funding deficit
Maxtreme Engine Power
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result: 14, meaning Maxtreme will have a more powerful engine to aid them in holding on to their lead...
Maxtreme Race Pace
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result:80 ...but are unable to find any extra race pace
The actual races will probably be up in the next couple of days.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Oulton Park Up!
Really late again (I did have to races done by Monday night, but have been stupidly busy since) but here are the results from Rounds 10-12 at Oulton Park:
Pre-Qualifying:
In the final pre-qualifying before it's recalculation, Matt Neal topped the times for Tech-Speed, but the 407's awful reliability meant that O'Neill couldn't set a time, taking the team out of the equation entirely for the session. Instead it was BTC Racing who topped the aggregate times at the scene of their first DNPQ last year, helped by a lacklustre time by Alex MacDowell scuppering AmD's chances against them. In fact, the Scot's time was so poor that the second team to make it out of the session was in fact the more consistent AFM lineup, albeit over a second off the pace of BTC Racing; this must surely be a boost for the team however as rumours of a management buyout linger around the paddock. Debutants Forster were the last team classified in the session, half a second off decidedly lacklustre efforts from Boulevard and the faltering Eurotech squad.
Quali-1:
It was a Chilton-Muller front row for race 1, with championship challengers (it really is a two-horse race already...) Menu and Michelisz in 3rd and 6th respectively. Stephen Kane turned heads with another impressive quali session, putting his BMW 13th, one place behind Tom Coronel, who seemed to be able to extract more pace from the Focus than has been shown of late; not that serial poor qualifier Rob Collard could do anything with it, as he failed to qualify, joining Tony Gilham on the sidelines.
Race 1: (video coming soon)
After making it past his teammate on Lap 1, Alain Menu dominated what turned out to be a race of attrition, with no less than seven cars failing to finish, including said teammate Chilton, who's transmission packed up three laps from home. Indeed, transmission failure appeared to be a bit of an issue on the undulating Oulton Park Circuit, with Coronel and Bennani both suffering failures in the early laps, joined also by Pinkney by half distance, while Jordan and Jackson were both taken out in a bizarre incident when trying to avoid the smoking, slow-moving Cruze of James Thompson, both cars subsequently suffering front-end damage. Back at the front, Michelisz finished second after setting fastest lap, while Jonathan Adam managed another podium finish in the unfancied Vectra, although he himself narrowly avoiding falling off the track, something Gordon Shedden sadly didn't, spinning while running strongly at Oulton for the third time in two years, and in the same place!. Stephen Kane also scored BTC's first points of the year in 10th, while Ferrier's AFM BMW made the finish in a distant 16th, after a wheel fell off Eaves' car.
Quali-2:
Jason Plato joined Chilton on the front row for race 2, with Gene and Menu again just behind, while Tom Coronel again impressed by qualifying ninth. Tony Gilham put in a surprisingly competitive time in his Civic to qualify 19th, ahead of Bennani's works car, although off the grid were the other set of Hondas, with Turkington and Forster seemingly unable to get the Accords running properly during the session.
Race 2 (video coming soon)
Jason Plato fended off first Alain Menu (having swapped places over the first few laps and then Norbert Michelisz to take a long-overdue first win this year, after a somewhat muted start to his championship defence. This was another race of attrition; even by turn two on lap 1, there had been a retirement, with Fabrizio Giovanardi's gearbox losing its enthusiasm for transferring power to the wheels rather quickly, while Chilton and Eaves both had oil leaks not long after, and Thompson joining them in being consecutive retirees over the weekend. This meant that by lap 15, after Coronel had destroyed the front end of his Focus while running ninth, Tony Gilham was in 10th, just one place away from one that would save Motorbase from pre-qualifying. As luck would have it, Augusto Farfus' engine blew handing him ninth place...
...for the grand total of two corners, as his suspension failed, cruelly landing him in the same gravel trap that Farfus parked his Civic in moments later. Mehdi Bennani therefore scored his first ever BTCC points (and I believe the first ever scored by a Moroccan... feel free to correct me).In the meantime, Norbert Michelisz set fastest lap, and by virtue of finishing sixth, Jordi Gene got the most power for Quali-3 (although he didn't get pole).
Race 3 (video coming soon)
Norbert Michelisz carved his way through the field at the start to take a commanding win by the end, although many eyes were on Jonathan Adam, who put in a fighting if rather wayward drive to finish a season best second some way ahead of Menu in third in rather more orthodox top 10 than in the previous two races, although Coronel finally managed to keep his Focus running cleanly and was rewarded with Arena's first points in a while, just behind Tom Chilton who at least finished a race without a technical failure for once. After their double-DNQ in Quali-2, Forster at least made the grid but had a miserable third race, with Forster suffering an early engine failure and Turkington spinning on the first lap, rejoining at the back; he only climbed his way up to fourteenth by the end of the race, while AFM ran their most competitive race in a long while, benefitting from attrition but not actually running last for a good deal of the race with their hopelessly underpowered cars. Alain Menu set fastest lap.
Championship Standings After 12 Rounds
Driver's Championship
1 Norbert Michelisz 136
2 Alain Menu 130
3 Jordi Gene 83
4 Jonathan Adam 80
5 Jason Plato 71
6 Yvan Muller 65
7 Colin Turkington 54
8 Tom Chilton 43
9 Augusto Farfus 37
10 Gordon Shedden 29
11 James Thompson 28
12 Rob Collard 12

15 Tom Coronel 9
16 Nick Foster 8
17 Paul O'Neill 3
=17 Dave Pinkney 3
19 Chris James 2
20 Mat Jackson 1
=20 Stephen Kane 1
=20 Mehdi Bennani 1
Michelisz still holds a six point lead over Menu in the driver's championship, which is effectively a two-horse race even at this early stage, with third placed Jordi Gene nearly fifty points behind already.
Independent Driver's Championship
1 Norbert Michelisz 153
2 Jordi Gene 123
3 Yvan Muller 110
4 Colin Turkington 86
5 Gordon Shedden 80
6 Nick Foster 55
7 Dave Pinkney 30
8 James Nash 28
9 Ben Collins 18
10 Stephen Kane 17
11 Mat Jackson 12
12 Paul O'Neill 9
13 Alex MacDowell 8

=15 Matt Neal 7
=15 John George 7
19 Chris James 5
=19 Arthur Forster 5
=19 Dan Eaves 5
22 Tom Onslow-Cole 1
If the main championship is a two-horse race, then the Indy title race surely has only one- Michelisz is erring towards the unbeatable with a thirty point lead over Gene, although Yvan Muller is gaining ground in the standings fast.
Team's Championship
1 WSR 173
2 Maxtreme 139
4 CVR 94
3 GR Asia 91
5 Seat 81
6 888 80
7 Special Tuning 54
8 Honda 38
9 RML 38
10 Arena 21
11 Tech-Speed 3
12 Boulevard 2
13 Motorbase 1
=13 BTC Racing 1
WSR and Maxtreme are still holding their postitions in the championship, over sixty points ahead of anyone else. Elsewhere there has been no movement in this championship, besides BTC Racing's appearance in joint thirteenth and last.
Independent Team's Championship
1 CVR 190
2 Maxtreme 183
3 GR Asia 178
4 Special Tuning 91
5 Bamboo 46
6 BTC Racing 24
7 Tech-Speed 16
=7 AmD Tuning 16
9 Boulevard 12
=9 Motorbase 12
=9 AFM 12
12 Eurotech 1
A far closer battle is apparent in the Independent Team's standings, with the top three separated by just 12 points, with Maxtreme having overtaken GR Asia for second. Interestingly, Boulevard, Motorbase and AFM are equal points, despite doing massively differing amounts of rounds- and being well behind BTC, who've only qualified for two weekends!
Constructor's Championship
1 WSR/BMW 198
2 Seat 116
3 888/Vauxhall 108
4 Honda 70
5 RML/Chevrolet 67
6 Arena/Ford 52
WSR are still a long way ahead of Seat and Vauxhall, who are neck-and-neck at the moment, as are Honda and Chevrolet, with Ford still lagging behind after a disappointing Oulton Park.
Finally, the moment you've all been waiting for, the pre-qualifying calculation

17 Paul O'Neill 3
=17 Dave Pinkney 3
19 Chris James 2
20 Mat Jackson 1
=20 Stephen Kane 1
=20 Mehdi Bennani 1
Michelisz still holds a six point lead over Menu in the driver's championship, which is effectively a two-horse race even at this early stage, with third placed Jordi Gene nearly fifty points behind already.
Independent Driver's Championship
1 Norbert Michelisz 153
2 Jordi Gene 123
3 Yvan Muller 110
4 Colin Turkington 86
5 Gordon Shedden 80
6 Nick Foster 55
7 Dave Pinkney 30
8 James Nash 28
9 Ben Collins 18
10 Stephen Kane 17
11 Mat Jackson 12

=15 John George 7
19 Chris James 5
=19 Arthur Forster 5
=19 Dan Eaves 5
22 Tom Onslow-Cole 1
If the main championship is a two-horse race, then the Indy title race surely has only one- Michelisz is erring towards the unbeatable with a thirty point lead over Gene, although Yvan Muller is gaining ground in the standings fast.
Team's Championship

8 Honda 38
9 RML 38
10 Arena 21
11 Tech-Speed 3
12 Boulevard 2
13 Motorbase 1
=13 BTC Racing 1
WSR and Maxtreme are still holding their postitions in the championship, over sixty points ahead of anyone else. Elsewhere there has been no movement in this championship, besides BTC Racing's appearance in joint thirteenth and last.
Independent Team's Championship
1 CVR 190
2 Maxtreme 183
3 GR Asia 178
4 Special Tuning 91

Leaving Pre-Qualifying
Tech-Speed (11th in TC, 3pts)
Boulevard (12th in TC, 2pts)
Entering Pre-Qualfying
Motorbase (=13th in TC, 1pt)
Bamboo Engineering (NC in TC, 0pts, best finish 11th)
Staying in Pre-Qualfying
BTC Racing (=13th in TC, 1pt)
AmD Tuning (NC in TC, 0pts, best finish 12th)
AFM Racing (NC in TC, 0pts, best finish 14th)
Eurotech (NC in TC, 0pts, best finish 21st)
Forster Motorsport (NC in TC, 0pts, best finish DNPQ)
This will be recalculated again after Silverstone.
In the meantime before Croft, feel free to make upgrades/sack drivers/despair about falling into pre-qualifying.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Oulton Park Up!
The Croft races will be ran shortly, so here are the RNG Upgrade results prior to this running:
GR Asia Race Pace I
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result: 24
GR Asia Race Pace II
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result: 4
GR Asia Quali Pace
1-50 Succeed, 51-100 Fail
Result: 92
Therefore GR Asia will have much improved race pace, but their qualifying form is unchanged.
Also, as you forgot to name which paydriver you are getting monies from, Dexter249, Giovanardi will be running in the #888 Vectra at Croft.

Motorbase will purchase a quali pace update, two engine power upgrades - one with cheese - and a large soda.

As you only missed the arbitrary cut-off time by about five minutes and I haven't booted up GP2 yet, I'll run your upgrade RNG prior to Croft now:
Motorbase Quali Pace
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result: 96, meaning Motorbase yet again fail to improve their abysmal Qualifying performance
Motorbase Engine Power I
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result: 14- Motorbase finally do a thing!
Motorbase Engine Power II
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result:53, ...and also make a second engine upgrade!
Could I have a list of Available pay drivers please?
Sure! (though I'm unsure why you left this so late, as it is now too late to have someone in the car for Croft)

Henry Ho: PD, brings 10CR

I have added some more (mostly 2011) drivers due to a lack of pay drivers on the old list.

Are these prices for the rest of the season or race by race. Winning the championship is no use if we go bankrupt in the process

John George is already in the second BTC Racing car. Pick again- the only available options are in the list I provided for andrew, and he's already taken Griffin.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Oulton Park Up!
Really, really late yet again (exams again) but here are the results from Croft:
Pre-Qualifying:
BTC Racing sailed through into the main session, topping the session by nearly a second from the newly relegated Motorbase, who were to some degree fortunate that the usually faster AmD Tuning couldn't get both cars to run, this problem also scuppering AFM's (minimal) chances. Bamboo and Forster were in no man's land, while Eurotech continue to be notably off the pace compared to their fellow pre-qualifiers.
Quali-1:
It was an all-SEAT front row for Round 13, with Jordi Gene's privateer car ahead of the works car of Plato, with Jonathan Adam again dragging his Vectra to an unlikely third. Of the main championship contenders, Michelisz was fourth, but Menu was only eighth, with both WSR BMWs not suiting Croft. At the tail-end of the grid, Arthur Forster and Mehdi Bennani failed to qualify.
Race 1 (video coming soon)
Even by lap 1 of Round 13, it was clear that Croft was going to be an utter car-breaker this year; Muller and Thompson's engines didn't even last a lap, and were joined shortly after by Tom Chilton with his third broken transmission in four races. And after that the retirements just kept on coming- not that Jordi Gene minded, with the Spaniard driving to perfection to build a titanic 28 second lead and set fastest lap, helped by the frequent pit stops for brake issues that seemed to plague half the field, including Jason Plato, who had been the only other driver to even lead a lap- he finished fifth. Michelisz and Menu completed the rostrum, but the big surprise was in who came in behind them; Stephen Kane recorded BTC Racing's best ever finish with fourth, benefitting from his 320i's faultless reliability, while past (and most likely disillusioned) champions Neal and Giovanardi scored their first points this year.
Quali-2:
Jonathan Adam recorded 888's first pole this year for Race 2, with Michelisz starting where he finished in Race 1 in second, and the race 1 front row forming row 2. Chris James qualified inexplicably well in the powerful NGTC Lacetti, twelve places ahead of his teammate in 12th, while another notable (but for the wrong reasons) performance came from Colin Turkington, who would start 23rd. Gilham and Foster failed to qualify.
Race 2 (video coming soon)
It was another dominant performance (with another fastest lap) from Jordi Gene, although Jonathan Adam put more pressure on him than Plato did, and hence the winning margin was a considerably shorter one. Elsewhere, there were less mechanical retirements than in Round 13, although again all the Honda Civics suffered issues, with only Farfus getting his to the finish in last place. Chris James, after his frankly strange qualifying form threw away what would have been at least a tenth-placed finish by spinning into the barriers on a low-speed corner, then stalling. Instead, in tenth it was Colin Turkington, who had put in an extremely impressive drive gaining thirteen places over the course of the race- and then getting pole for the reverse grid draw!
Race 3: (video coming soon)
Turkington kept his lead into the first corner and for the first fifteen laps or so was maintaining a small but manageable advantage over Alain Menu, who was determined to capitalise fully on a lap 1 engine failure for Norbert Michelisz. This small margin became quite a bit bigger after Menu spun, although his margin to Muller in third was so great that he did not lose position.
At this point you may be wondering why Turkington's name is not at the top of the result sheet; well, in the end he was robbed of a deserved first victory this year on the penultimate lap, having been forced to pit to correct an electrical fault, dropping him to seventh. There were a lot of position changes on the final two laps, in fact; first Yvan Muller span on the final corner of lap 18 into a queue of cars, dropping him right to the back, and promoting both BTC Racing cars into the top 10. This didn't last however, as half a lap later Nick Foster passed John George for 10th, only for his car to fail on the third-to-last corner, which handed the final points-paying position to Tom Chilton, who had also made his way passed George. Turkington set fastest lap, but this was a meagre prize for his efforts.
Championship Standings After 15 Rounds:
Drivers' Championship
1 Alain Menu 159
2 Norbert Michelisz 158
3 Jordi Gene 127
4 Jonathan Adam 103
5 Jason Plato 88
6 Yvan Muller 71
7 Colin Turkington 60
8 Gordon Shedden 46
9 Tom Chilton 44
10 Augusto Farfus 39
11 James Thompson 33

19 Fabrizio Giovanardi 4
=19 Dave Pinkney 4
21 Paul O'Neill 3
22 Chris James 2
23 Mat Jackson 1
=23 Mehdi Bennani 1
Alain Menu takes the championship lead for the first time this year, albeit only by a single point. Jordi Gene is third, at the rate he is scoring, may well become part of the title fight if things play out his way. Stephen Kane has jumped up the standings with BTC Racing's best ever results, while Giovanardi and Neal appear on the table for the first time this year
Independent Drivers' Championship
1 Norbert Michelisz 177
2 Jordi Gene 168
3 Yvan Muller 118
4 Gordon Shedden 107
5 Colin Turkington 101

7 Dave Pinkney 42

20 Tom Ferrier 7

Michelisz still holds a ten-point lead over Gene in the Independent standings, despite being outscored by him, with the two CVR drivers behind most likely too far back to challenge them already.
Teams' Championship
1 WSR 203
2 Maxtreme 162

8 RML 46
9 Honda 40
10 Arena 27
11 BTC Racing 11
12 Tech-Speed 10
13 Boulevard 2
14 Motorbase 1
WSR are still holding an commanding lead in the teams championship, which has remained relatively stable, although Seat have dropped down to sixth, and GR Asia have taken back the third place CVR took from them last time out.
Independent Teams' Championship
1 CVR 225
2 GR Asia 223
3 Maxtreme 219
4 Special Tuning 110
5 BTC Racing 52
6 Bamboo 46
7 Tech-Speed 32
8 Boulevard 20
9 AmD Tuning 16
10 Motorbase 12
=10 AFM 12
12 Eurotech 1
CVR leads, but only by two points from GR Asia, the two Seat-powered teams completely evenly matched. BTC Racing has made a huge jump to fifth place in the standings, while further points finishes for Tech-Speed and Boulevard means only Eurotech (and of course Forster, who haven't qualified at all) have scored in anything less than double figures this year.
Constructors' Championship
1 WSR/BMW 249
2 888/Vauxhall 156
3 Seat 155
4 RML/Chevrolet 93
5 Honda 77
6 Arena/Ford 73
Nearly 100 points still separate BMW from the next closest constructor, but that is now Vauxhall, who have overtaken Seat by a single point. RML are now in a no-man's land, being well behind Seat but having outperformed Honda convincingly over the weekend to open a healthy margin- if anything, Honda is now under threat from an improving Ford.
Again apologies for being a week late, but feel free to comment, upgrade cars and sack drivers (I am aware that some of you have already done this). Also, if you sack a pay driver now (as we're mid-way through the season), you get the full amount of money from both the one you're replacing and the scrub you're bringing in, who will just provide the lump sum up front, whatever the amount of races (so if you employ a -15CR driver for one race, you will gain 15CR)

Michelisz still holds a ten-point lead over Gene in the Independent standings, despite being outscored by him, with the two CVR drivers behind most likely too far back to challenge them already.

2 GR Asia 223

You will be (and in fact already are) in massive debt (-12CR) after completing these upgrades. Are you sure you want to go through with this and if you are, I would recommend you employ another pay driver so that you can reduce the accumulation of debt.

Yes.
So which driver will it be? There's a list of drivers a few posts back.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Croft Up!
I am aware that I have left the running of the series by the wayside somewhat, and I'm sorry about that- I have a lot of exams right now, and it's been eating into my spare time badly over the past month. However, my schedule frees up a bit more from tomorrow onwards, so here are the upgrade RNGs prior to Snetterton:
Maxtreme Race Pace
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result:23, so Michelisz will have a better car to try and regain his championship lead with
Boulevard Engine Power I
1-40 Succeed, 41-100 Fail
Result: 50, so more money is wasted at Boulevard, as they spiral into debt...
Boulevard Engine Power II
1-40 Succeed, 41-100 Fail
Result: 62, ...and their second attempt at an upgrade also yields no results
AmD Quali Pace I
1-70 Succeed, 71-100 Fail
Result:44- Succeed
AmD Quali Pace II
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result: 88- Fail
AmD Race Pace
1-60 Succeed, 61-100 Fail
Result: 86- Fail
Seat and 888's budgets have also been updated due to one-off outings for Liam Griffin and Tony Hughes in their cars.
Snetterton should hopefully be up by the end of the week.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Snetterton Up!
Here are the results (only five days late! ) from Rounds 16-18 at Snetterton:
Pre-Qualifying:
After making upgrades, it was AmD Tuning who topped pre-qualifying for the first time this year, ahead of regular pace-setters BTC Racing, who were over a second faster than next-fastest team Forster, who finished much higher thanks to technical problems leading to Motorbase, AFM and Bamboo not setting times, this being especially galling for the former, who recorded their first DNPQ of the season.
Quali-1:
Another team reaping the benefits of a Quali upgrade was Seat, with Plato setting a time good enough for pole ahead of Michelisz, one of four Seats in the top five. The AmDTuning Alfas lined up for their first race in months in 16th and 17th position, but the two drivers who wouldn't be lining up on Sunday for Race 1 would be temporary pay-drivers Liam Griffin and Tony Hughes, who were some way off the pace despite being in front-running cars.
Race 1 (video here)
Michelisz dominated from the first corner to win a race that was otherwise more notable for the many, many spins and transmission failures as the drivers pushed hard on the demanding Snetterton circuit. Pole sitter Jason Plato did not fall victim to the circuit however- after losing places to Michelisz and Adam, the latter went wide and onto the grass run off of a corner and in rejoining collected Plato, heavily damaging the front of the Leon and forcing him to retire- and Adam got a very stern talking to from the BTCC veteran after the race, to say the least! Meanwhile, the rest of the field was quite spaced out due to the many retirements, with the main highlights being Shedden and Gene's battle for fifth and, as has so often been the case this year, the battle for the final point, with BTC Racing getting their first double points finish at the expense of Gavin Smith, who had wrestled his wayward 156 up to 11th place. Michelisz (predictably) set fastest lap.
Quali-2:
It was the same top three for Race 2, with only Jonathan Adam again preventing a top five lockout for Seat, who are beginning to worry TOCA officials with their dominance (more on that later). Notable performances were few in a rather uneventful session, but Coronel did a solid job to get the Arena Focus into the top 10, while the Alfa Romeos were not running too strongly in Quali-2 compared to Quali-1, lining up 20th and 23th. Griffin and Hughes failed to qualify again.
Race 2 (video here)
Norbert Michelisz continued his masterful run at Snetterton, dominating the race and setting fastest lap, although Jason Plato's initial challenge was a bit more spirited- right until he spun off! This dropped him right to the back and while he made a valiant effort, the frustrated reigning champion couldn't quite get back into the points, meaning a continued no-score this weekend. Behind the leader, there were two particularly impressive team performances in the top 10- the first was that of Clyde Valley Racing, who achieved their best overall finish with Shedden in second and Muller in third, while the second of these efforts was that of Boulevard, who again defied all expectations (considering their mounting debts and unfancied drivers) and scored another point (at some point, these stop becoming flukes!), and with a bit more attrition, they very well might have gotten a double-points result! (James was 11th in the end). Slightly spoiling the financially beleaguered team's day however was the reverse grid draw, which put Dave Pinkney on pole for Race 3, denying Boulevard a top 10 grid position.
Race 3 (video coming soon)
Nick Foster jumped Dave Pinkney off the line from the dirty side of the grid, and led the first few corners, but ominously it was Michelisz right on his tail, leading to collective sighs from the spectators as they settled in for another MICHELISZWINSLOL. The GR Asia driver was holding him off rather well however, until something even more unexpected happened- the championship leader spun, emulating Plato in Race 2 and throwing away a prime opportunity to match Dan Eaves' still-unequalled achievement of three race wins in a weekend- he eventually drove a quiet race to finish a lowly sixteenth, although he did still salvage a point with fastest lap. Foster, despite further pressure from his teammate, went on to win with a comfortable margin as part of a GR Asia 1-2, and the second Seat 1-2-3 in a row. Meanwhile it was all action in the lower half of the top 10, with Alex MacDowell in seventh (hence scoring AmDTuning's first ever points) holding off a train of cars that included Paul O'Neill's Peugeot and Tom Coronel, who along with Rob Collard (who was hounded by a struggling Yvan Muller) managed Arena's first double-points haul in several rounds.

Considering the utter dominance of the Seats this season, TOCA will be putting ballast on the Leons and temporarily pausing upgrades for these teams from Silverstone on to improve the show (this isn't unprecedented- this happened to the Audis in '96 and the Vauxhalls in '01 in RL at least), so along with sacking drivers and making upgrades , feel free to moan about that (I'm sure Plato has a very vocal opinion...)

Seeing as the Leons are about to get laden with ballast, CVR will switch back to its BMW 320s now.

Your craftiness in the face of TOCA's regulations never ceases to amaze me...
But I'll let you do this. You're not getting the 1CR used when swapping back to the Leons refunded though.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Snetterton Up!
As my computer has a new CPU cooler to prevent the catastrophic overheating that delayed this series' running (plus colder weather), I can resume running this series regularly again, of which Silverstone will be up shortly- after I've swapped the CVR team back to BMWs and ballasted the Seats.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Snetterton Up!
I had a few teething troubles with the new CPU cooling setup, but everything works now, so here are the results from Rounds 19, 20 and 21 from Silverstone:
Pre-Qualifying:
In the last pre-qualifying session before the entry list is recalculated it was AmDTuning who topped the session ahead of BTC Racing in what is likely to be the two team's final attempts to pre-qualify this year. It was a relatively close session at Silverstone, with Motorbase and AFM quite close to pre-qualifying, which bodes well for Knockhill, while Eurotech continue to fall well off the pace of even Forster Motorsports floundering Toyotas.
Quali-1
Any fears that the Leon-running teams had of being mired at the back of the grid (and conversely, the hopes of their competitors) were quickly rubbished as they filled the first three positions, led by a strangely cheerful Jason Plato. It was however clear that the Seats had still been slowed somewhat- 4th placed Jonathan Adam was less than a tenth of a second off Gene's car ahead, while the teammates of the leading trio were propping up the timesheets, Jordan even failing to qualify. CVR, who had been running its 2009-spec Leons up until this round, having swapped from BMWs at Brands Hatch, had a solid but unspectacular session, with Muller and Shedden qualifying 7th and 8th while re-acclimatising to the RWD 320sis! Along with Jordan, it was Moroccan Mehdi Bennani who failed to qualify, while rumours circulate around him not finishing the season with a financially shaky Honda team.
Race 1 (video coming soon)
Plato led off the line, but was quickly swamped by Michelisz and Menu, dropping to third and then fifth before his engine expired well before the halfway point. Instead it was Norbert Michelisz who built up a lead of nearly 3 seconds in as many laps, as has so often happened this year (and has so often caused headaches for TOCA). However, Colin Turkington's Honda was flying at Silverstone, quickly dispatching Plato, Farfus (who suffered suspension failure not long after) and Menu and by lap 5 he had reduced the Maxtreme driver's lead to less than a second. After losing time during his first attempt to pass the Hungarian, it took until lap 8 for Turkington to attempt a second move for the lead, which stuck and with that he pulled away, taking the first win for a Honda Accord in the BTCC since Simon Graves' Production class and overall win at Snetterton in 2001. Other notable runs included a rare double points finish for RML, and an even rarer points finish (or finish at all, but I digress) for Paul O'Neill's Peugeot in 8th, as the team strives to stave off pre-qualifying. Jonathan Adam set the fastest lap.
Quali-2:
Plato again set the pace in the second qualifying session, and was joined on the front row by Jonathan Adam who was having a very competitive weekend. Augusto Farfus qualified very well in the Honda, ahead of Race 1 winner Turkington, while more disappointing performances came from Menu, who was only 10th, and James Thompson, who showed inexplicably poor form to line up on the back row with Arthur Forster, although still ahead of Nick Foster and Mehdi Bennani, who failed to qualify.
Race 2 (video coming soon)
Plato again started poorly, being jumped by Adam, Turkington, Michelisz and Gene in the first couple of laps alone, while the former two drivers sped away from the rest of the field, and while it looked for a while it looked as Turkington could take two wins in a row, Jonathan Adam eventually triumphed to take his first win of the year (and another fastest lap) with a margin of two seconds over the Special Tuning driver, who was still 8 seconds ahead of the next placed driver. Elsewhere, the championship battle took an interesting yet ultimately inconsequential turn- Alain Menu suffered suspension failure early in the race, handing Michelisz an open goal to extend his already substantial championship lead. This did not occur however- the Hungarian was forced to pit with technical issues not far from the end, dropping to 15th from which he could only recover to 11th, outside the points. Inside the points however was Chris James, who managed an unlikely 8th placed finish to score 3 more points for the financially beleagured Boulevard squad, while ahead of him was the seemingly perennially-unlucky Tom Coronel, who also got the most power for Quali-3.
Race 3 (video coming soon):
Augusto Farfus shot into the lead from the first corner, gapping the field apart from Jonathan Adam, who stayed close on his tail, overtaking him at half distance with yet another fastest lap, by which point a chasing pack of Alain Menu and Jordi Gene (Colin Turkington intiated this move, but suffered engine failure while running a strong third) swept him up, the Honda driver ultimately finishing fourth again. Meanwhile, the lower top 10 had become a race of attrition somewhat- first to go was front-row starter Tom Coronel's transmission, which failed while he ran in a disappointing seventh, while Alex MacDowell, Matt Neal and Dave Pinkney all suffered mechanical issues while gracing tenth place- it was ultimately Fabrizio Giovanardi who scored a single point. Norbert Michelisz had a poor race finishing seventh (before the spree of retirements, it looked as if he would fail to score) five places behind Menu, harming his championship lead.

2 888/Vauxhall 243
3 Seat 191
4 RML/Chevrolet 153

This list will remain static until the end of the year.
Finally, as the next race is at the Knockhill Circuit in Fife, Scotland, there is an oppurtunity for the smaller, less financially secure outfits on the grid to skip this round to save on travel costs. This manifests itself as a 5CR rebate from TOCA. You will need to specify if you are doing this or not below.
Anyway, feel free to comment or make upgrades (unless you're running a Leon) before the next round, which will be run on time, I promise!

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Silverstone Up!
The rounds from Knockhill (I know, I've even fallen behind TOCA in running these things now...) will be up shortly, so I'll do the RNG for the only upgrades prior to the event:
Bamboo Quali Pace:
1-60 Success, 61-100 Fail
Result: 18- Success.
Well, that's done, so things should be up within a couple of days or so.

Re: 2010 Virtual BTCC- Knockhill Up!
Here are the results from the BTCC's annual excursion to Scotland at the Knockhill Circuit: (apologies for the awful writing, it's a bit rushed as I need to conclude Asian F4 before I go on holiday)
Pre-Qualifying:
The first pre-qualifying session with a new lineup since Oulton Park produced an interesting result; there was little surprise when AmDTuning (who nearly escaped pre-qualifying after Silverstone) pre-qualified easily, but behind them it was very close. A very good time from James Nash plus upgrades to the Lacetti saw Bamboo get into the main qualifying for the first time since falling into the session at Oulton Park, while Forster racing were unlucky not to make the grid for the first time, being just a couple of tenths further behind, and ahead of a tight pack of AFM, Motorbase and Boulevard, although Eurotech were miles off the pace.
Quali-1:
Jonathan Adam set the fastest time in the first qualifying session of the weekend, breaking fellow front row starter Jason Plato's run of pole positions from Silverstone, and being the only non-Seat or BMW in the top six. In a rather predictable session, suprises included James Nash in fifteenth for Bamboo, just behind Alex MacDowell's Alfa, while Andrew Jordan (who has really struggled with the ballasted Leon) and Arthur Forster failed to make the grid.
Race 1:
Off the line, Jonathan Adam made one of the worst starts of the year and had dropped to eighth by the first corner, leaving Plato to pull away from the chasing cars of Menu, Michelisz and Farfus, among others. Past the first lap, however, most of the action was the result of a great number of bizarre incidents at both the Arnold Clark chicane and Clark corner itself- virtually everyone who graced the top 10 in the early laps, including both Norbert Michelisz and Alain Menu span off there, losing up to two whole laps digging themselves out of the gravel. Any hopes Jordi Gene (who was then running fourth) had of clawing back points on the championship frontrunners were dashed however as his transmission failed not much later on, and to make matters worse, by the end of the race Menu had clawed his way back up to tenth. Amid this chaos, no-one had really noticed the emerging battle up front- Adam, helped by the pirouetting of those in front of him, (this is not to say he lacked pace- in fact, he set fastest lap) had managed to climb back up to second place, and was hounding Plato down in the closing laps, making it past on the final lap to the delight of the Scottish fans and the despair of the BTCC veteran, who had let yet another prospective win slip through his fingers. Behind them was a very strange top 10; Farfus managed a strong third for Honda, but more surprising was MacDowell in fourth after a measured drive, Jeff Smith in sixth and Bamboo not only picking up its first points this year, but a double score, with Nash and Collins in seventh and ninth respectively.
Quali-2:
It was a largely similar grid for Race 2, with Adam and Plato again on the front row, with Gene and Michelisz (albeit with swapped positions) behind them, and the CVR cars behind them. The only real surprises were Arthur Forster and Andrew Jordan qualifying, with Nick Foster and Dave Pinkney's privateer Seats not making the grid.
Race 2:
Race 2 proved to be a less eventful race than its predecessor, with the Fife-based duo of Jonathan Adam and Gordon Shedden using their local knowledge to pull away from the field, finishing first and second respectively, with Adam's fastest lap meaning that the Triple Eight driver had managed a maximum score so far this weekend. Behind them, random spins at Clark corner continued to afflict much of the field, an occurrence that was still puzzling TOCA and the circuit managers alike- there were no such incidents in 2009, on an unchanged track with much of the same cars and drivers, leaving no obvious area to blame. This proved particularly frustrating for the AmDTuning team, who saw both their drivers spin out of the points, while further concern appeared around the fuel usage of the cars, with drivers such as Menu forced to stop for fuel, losing track time. Amidst this controversy, it was Colin Turkington who was drawn into pole position for Race 3, having finished sixth in this race after not lasting two laps of the first.
Race 3:
Predictably, considering the mixture of strange accidents, race 3 over-aggression and the tight Knockhill circuit, race 3 was insane. By the first corner, Jonathan Adam's hopes of finishing a so-far perfect weekend ended in the gravel with a collision with Augusto Farfus' Honda, putting the latter driver out of the race and Adam a lap down. More victims of the first lap included Paul O'Neill's transmission and Matt Neal and James Thompson's engines, while just fourteen cars finished on the lead lap, with even those encountering problems. One driver who did not have issues for once was Jason Plato, who drove a faultless race to win despite constant pressure from Norbert Michelisz and Jordi Gene, who was forced to pit three times in the last four laps (presumably due to some kind of fuel starvation issue). Yvan Muller meanwhile was lucky to finish fourth after a number of late race spins, similar to those that had claimed his teammate Shedden, who had run just behind him in what was then sixth. These late race troubles for the frontrunners had the effect of promoting both AmDTuning cars into the top 10, somewhat ironically considering that similar issues dropped them out of it in race 2. Finally, it was polesitter Colin Turkington who set fastest lap, running in clean air after spinning out of sixth place at (you guessed it) Clark corner.
Championship Standings After 24 Rounds:

Besides the Race 1 spin, Norbert Michelisz had the best luck of the championship contenders at Knockhill and now holds a lead of over thirty points, while Jonathan Adam's perfect first two races lift him ahead of Jordi Gene, who may feel that reliability cost him a chance to close the gap ahead badly. Gavin Smith, James Nash and Ben Collins also scored their first points this year.

Gene's bad luck has also resulted in Michelisz's Independent lead extending to nearly twenty points, with Muller, Shedden and Turkington each in their own private No Man's Land, too far away from those ahead but well ahead of those behind.
Teams' Championship
1 WSR 255
2 Maxtreme 239
3 GR Asia 215

16 Motorbase 1
WSR still hold onto a safe yet shrinking lead in the Team's Championship over Maxtreme, but the battle for third place is hotting up- third placed GR Asia and fifth-placed Triple Eight are only separated by ten points. Further down the leaderboard RML and Honda only have one point between them in eighth and ninth, while Boulevard and Bamboo are tied in the pentultimate position with six points.
Independent Teams' Championship
1 CVR 373

12 Eurotech 1
Clyde Valley Racing are running away with the Independent Team's Championship, now holding a lead of almost fifty points over GR Asia, who have been caught by Maxtreme in third. Boulevard's failure to qualify and Tech-Speed's failure to finish the races has cost both teams badly, as they have been leapfrogged by Bamboo and AmDTuning in the space of a single weekend.
Constructors' Championship
1 WSR/BMW 372
2 888/Vauxhall 287
3 Seat 230
4 RML/Chevrolet 179
5 Arena/Ford 151
6 Honda 149
WSR have almost sealed the Constructors title for a second year in a row, while 888 look safe in second and Seat and RML marooned in third and fourth. There is still one battle left however, and that is for the wooden spoon- Arena have clawed their way past Honda due to better reliability this weekend, dropping Honda back to last, something that they will aim to rectify next time out at Donington, which should suit their powerful engine.
The next race may not be up for a while, so feel free to comment, complain or even upgrade your cars (unless you have a Seat)
Also, a reminder to RedEyes504 and Wizzie; you may want to employ a pay driver or two in the time period to run a few races as you are very badly in debt (I'm assuming Normal32's money pit is in fact some scheme to kill off Boulevard or something by now)

1 WSR 255

16 Motorbase 1
WSR still hold onto a safe yet shrinking lead in the Team's Championship over Maxtreme, but the battle for third place is hotting up- third placed GR Asia and fifth-placed Triple Eight are only separated by ten points. Further down the leaderboard RML and Honda only have one point between them in eighth and ninth, while Boulevard and Bamboo are tied in the pentultimate position with six points.
Independent Teams' Championship

=10 AFM 12
