Alright, to get this straightened out:

DAMS will run Max von Hegel and Ben Fleet for the last two races.
Williams will run Jorg Scrattenheim
Douglas Mann's departure means the second Williams seat is open for the second year running.
The seatholder position for DAMS is up for grabs as von Hegel will not be keeping it past 1995. If no offers come, than the team will go bankrupt and not return for '96.

I'd gladly be the DAMS seatholder next season, under the name "Thomas Kretzhaagel", who's planning to buy the DAMS team after Adelaide.

With Scrattenheim going to Williams for the last two races, Christopher Monaldo (that means you JeremyMcClean) and the Simtek team need to confirm a second driver.

Ligier offers Douglass Mann their second seat in the last races of the 1995 season, to have an top-driver to fix the problems that seem to be happening with the second car. Meanwhile Megumi has the chance to re-gain confidence with testing duties. (Although she is free to take the Simtek-seat if she wants to)

If he does not take the offer, Giovanni Roda will be brought in, to compare performances.

No, she will not take the DAMS seat, nor the Simtek one.. Instead, she will seek a seat from possible entry candidate Dome.
:)

Put the F3 sensationalist Brit Robert Anderson on the DAMS instead. ;)

Ermm, Douglas might be interested, depending how these two races go. He only left Williams because all those Renault failures were winding him up and ruining his championship chances. He would like to be in a team where there would not be the pressure of having to challenge for the championship any more.

(Although there are rumours of a move to a Formula 1 Challenge Championship in 1997, but of course because Douglas Mann is a time traveller, he has already been there, done that, and got the '98 championship...)

RejectSport wrote:CHAOS IN THE PITS, TRACK MARSHAL INJURED

Disaster struck in the fifteen-minute Q1 session for the Pacific GP as many cars in the field ran out of fuel while coming into the pits, similar to the situation at the Japanese GP last year. The teams' fuel calculations were epically wrong as the session was held in dry conditions and there was no rain in sight. A pileup began at the pit entry after somebody (we're not sure who) ran out of fuel at the front of pit lane midway through the session. Leonhard von Gottorp tried to avoid him but he was unable to and made a heavy impact with the wall. He was not injured in the wreck and was released from the track medical center late Friday night.

von Gottorp's crash site was almost unreachable as his car was blocking the entrance to the pit lane. Anton Kaliniczenko came up on the pit lane, also out of fuel, and spun off while Jean-Denis Deletraz ran out of fuel at the pit entrance after ramming aside von Gottorp's DAMS. Jean-Denis then stopped his car in the pit entrance, blocking Max von Hegel and several other cars from entering the pits. The Aida track did not have enough marshals to remove both von Gottorp and Deletraz so they decided to remove the Jordan first. Meanwhile, Kazuhiko Takagi, unaware of the mess that had just occurred, came up onto the scene without control of his car (as he had run out of fuel) and hit a marshal moving von Gottorp's car at about 50 mph. The session was halted immediately and medical staff rushed onto the scene to assist the unnamed marshal and Leonhard von Gottorp. The session has not yet been restarted.

(I am serious, this actually happened, although it has a lot to do with the next news story.)

RejectSport wrote:Drivers Deem Track to be Unsafe, Race in Doubt

The dramatic events surrounding the first qualifying session at the Pacific Grand Prix continue to unfold after the session. The session was halted for over three hours after Kazuhiko Takagi accidentally hit a track marshal who was attempting to remove Leonhard von Gottorp's stricken Jordan. It appears that, in addition to the fuel problems, cars cannot get past the Mike Knight Corner (Turn 10) on the circuit. A host of drivers have put their cars on the curbing on the side of the track which seems to be sending the car into a massive spin into the wall in front of the pits. This explains Anton Kaliniczenko's spin earlier in the session and Kazuhiko Takagi's inability to handle his car before he entered the pits.

The list of drivers who have spun is staggering. John Zimmer, Dennis Mignolet, Sebastian Gazurek, Masta Valsattis, Gio van Dycke, Ben Fleet and Samael Meerwick all spun at the exit of Turn 10. The spins appear to be occurring when cars are low on fuel which could by incredibly dangerous during the race itself as many cars will be pitting at the same time. After the session, the drivers and team bosses convened to discuss the issue with the race stewards. The stewards asserted that it was the drivers' fault that they could not handle Turn 10, pointing to Jorg Scrattenehim (provisional pole-sitter by over 6 tenths) as an example of someone who had escaped the turn unharmed. The track stewards refused to lower the height of the curbs or end the race. The drivers responded by walking out of the meeting. Late Friday night, Max von Hegel called a press conference, announcing that some drivers would not be competing in the Pacific Grand Prix. The president of F1RGP2C, Tristan Jung, responded angrily, condemning the GPDA and announcing that the race would go on, with replacement drivers from Formula Nippon if necessary.

Alright guys, for some reason, most cars can't get through Turn 10 without spinning wildly into the pit entrance. I have no idea why this is happening. Should I,

A. Continue the race as planned and see what happens.
B. Cancel the race.
C. Continue the race with replacement drivers from Formula Nippon.

If Option A is chosen, I will run a new quali session and allow some drivers to boycott the race can also boycott the race and I will replace them with Formula Nippon drivers.

I'm struggling with the approach and kerbing issues at turn 10, as I was one of the many drivers to spin during Friday qualifying. But I've spoken to the team and my chief mechanic and we will continue withthe race as planned. I'm a Formula 1 driver, so I will race.

EDIT: I ran a practice session and the chaos continued so it is not localized to that one session.
