You know how I often say that The Drugs Don't Work is the most depressing song of the last 25 years? Well, I think Born Slippy gives it good competition. That intro/outro, bloody hell. Goddamn TV advert using said song. :|

I actually deleted all depressing music off my Ipod recently. No need for it. :P

Isn't that the one that's pretty much "lager lager lager lager lager" all the way through?

Yup. A lot of shouting lager lager lager lager. And every line other than them ending in boy.

Yup. A lot of shouting lager lager lager lager. And every line other than them ending in boy.

I remember the magazine Humo (altough it could be the radio channel Studio Brussel too) using this song once for a commercial. The dutch word 'lager' means 'lower', this was a spot with somebody shouting that song part, and somebody else holding a painting or something like that, and then putting it lower and lower until it dropped.
Of course, the joke only worked with people who knew the song.

So tell me, reject fans, what's the most you've ever spent on any musical release, ever?

I'll start you off with £350 for an album that isn't even going to be recorded until February. But the fact that it's definitely happening makes me do a merry dance, because I filmed the campaign video as well as throwing a lot of (not exactly) spare cash into the ring, and success was secured five hours ago. Håpla!

79,90€ on Judas Priest's Metalogy... and I bought it purely for the few bonus tracks on it, as I already had all studio albums and the DVD that comes with it...

DOSBoot, do you have Spotify? If so, could you do me a synthwave/retro playlist? All the stuff you pick out is good and all the stuff last.fm recommends isn't half as good.

No. I get my mixtapes at "mixcrate.com", and I haven't attempted to make my own compilation yet. (Although I am working on making a few music videos off of them.) However, I do recommend few sites called "newretrowave.com", "bandcamp", and "soundcloud" if you're looking for synthwave. They have a ton of stuff to chose from. Oh, and here's my usual contribution to this site.

My Bloody Valentine - To Here Knows When

Loveless is probably the most far-out album I've ever listened to. There's honestly nothing that sounds similar. NOTHING.

I highly doubt there'll ever be an album as mental as Loveless again, unfortunately. :(

I wouldn't say that nothing sounds like Loveless; you should try Slowdive's stuff. Loveless is certainly an all time classic though.

But Richey Edwards said that Slowdive were worse than Hitler. :| :P

Joking aside, I'll give Slowdive a go when I get some free time. :)

I honestly don't know how people can listen to American EDM which seems to be everywhere nowadays, when nearly 20 years earlier, The Prodigy were making far, far superior music that's not only forward-thinking, but also very listenable to. Dance music needs to go underground again .

I agree here, I don't mind some modern EDM but that is on a different level. 90s British Electronic music is amazing.

GRRR.
Now i did manage to see a few things for free (because of my obvious musical connections), but not such an epic band. And actually getting paid for it?
Now anyway, i do know a guy who got paid to see a Justin Bieber concert (a security agent), and he was courageous enough to actually go to that concert, respect!

They were playing where I work. Obviously I had to pull pints during the show, but as soon as Tenacious D came on, the crowd were too focused on them, so I got to pretty much got to stand back, and enjoy.

Two days ago, we all heard the sad news: Justin Bieber has decided to retire. This is the worst thing that has happened to music since The Beatles broke up in 1970, if not even worse. No longer will we get awesome hit songs like "Baby", the best song so far this decade. I know we are all waiting for a comeback which will surely be more awesome than anything that has happened since Friesacher's sixth place in Indianapolis. To finish this tribute to a true musical genius, I will present this awesome remix I found of his biggest hit:

I'm afraid he has already stated that he was only joking about the matter, and will keep torturing anyone with a half decent music taste. Anyway, whilst I firmly agree that the majority of current popular music is overrated crap, I'm luckily enough only exposed to it through car radio, and even then I can just grab my MP3 player and put on some proper music right to my ears. So even though I consider a large majority of the population to have a godawful taste in music (based on the hit charts), I've learned to ignore it and just concentrate on my own stuff.

Sarcasm of the finest order.

But here's something I really want to know about the world's least-favourite Sebastian Vettel lookalike. All those articles along the lines of "10/20/101/a million reasons why you should hate Justin Bieber" - how many of them are actually real? So the fact that he became rich and famous and popular with girls (in single figures) meant it was almost inevitable he would be disliked by those who hadn't had that success, but he's become so much of an internet punching bag that it makes me wonder how many of those "reasons we should hate him" have been completely fabricated to make it look like going for a pint with Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Breivik all at once would be the preferable option.

It can't all be true. Can it?
