I'm happy for Chris because he really needed this result today, the only pity being that neither of us could hold onto a podium place during those crazy last few laps, but with the front runners bunched like they were, the top 3 places really could have been anyone's. Now we're looking forward to rounding off the German part of the season, and hopefully with another strong performance! :)

Just a note, what engines does CR use, and what version of Hockenhiem was used, the short version, the long version or the pre-2002 version.

I think CR used Hyundai engines, and I used the current Hickenheim circuit (albeit with '05 scenery).

Rumour has it that Dean O'Lauchlan is on the verge of signing a deal with the Australian Minardi outfit but neither Dean O'Lauchlan or Minardi owner and driver Dave Simpson were avaliable for comment.

The rumours stemmed off the back of reports that Australian Minardi was in dire straights at the end of last season after Ford pulled out at the last minute until Shell and MRT owner Daniel Melrose stepped in at the 11th hour with free BMW engines and Shell sponsorship with O'Lauchlan Motorsport being an effective satllite operation for MRT making a merger between the two teams seem logical.

On hearing the reports Daniel Melrose said that he "wouldn't mind the merger happening but he will have no influence in the matter."

Autosport wrote:MELROSE: M3 a disappointment

Despite scoring a thrid place at the last race at Hockenheim Daniel Melrose described the MRT M3 as a "disappointment". "The M3 has a far too narrow operating range espcially with the masses of understeer the car has on full fuel loads. We tried a few minor setup changes at Hockenheim for my car which resulted in high-speed oversteer but it was more comfortable compared to the way it was before. I feel sorry for Jeroen though as in his first full season of top-flight motorsport he has to deal with a car which I believe is more difficult to drive than the BMW F1.08 I drove a few years ago in Formula One. Hopefully it won't affect his chances of achieving his dream of Formula One though since I have been in contact with Peter Sauber who's a friend of mine and he's considering putting him in a testing role either this season or next season."

Both Douglas and Pippa Mann were happy to qualify, yet were disappointed to see their teammates fail to do so. They are both hoping to qualify well, to avoid any incidents in the race and to score points, and in Pippa's case, to retake the lead of the driver's championship.

The OzJet Minardi team has recently been rebranded to European Aviation Minardi and were scheduled to just unveil a new livery. However, they introduced a new, 2010 spec car to replace the 2005 spec car that they used for the past two years. Our sources suggest this was originally the car built specifically to accomodate the Ford engines the team were to use until they backed out at the 11th hour. The livery is based on the BMW M3 GT2 Art car that raced at Le Mans in 2010, which hints to an increased involvement in the team from BMW.

Qualifying (Yes, I know I haven't done the AS Cup yet, I'll do it afterwards):

This race although he scored points, it was a case of stay on the track and score points. The fact that the Honda engine expired a few laps before the end shows that the team have a long way to go. We are one quarter distance into the season and the Phoenix Mugen Honda was a delightful car that got me 3 fastest laps (which makes me equal first and in a fastest laps by races, makes me the number one driver with fastest laps in 30% of my races), a pole and a podium but the Super Aguri Phoenix Honda is in a word, crap. With a engine that is underpowered by Austin Allegero standards. QANTAS-MRT Test - July 14/15 - Nurburgring

QANTAS MRT is planning a test session before the Australian leg of the championship at the Nurburgring. On Saturday Jeroen will have the oppertunity to test the M3B which should be ready by that point while on Sunday I'll take over driving duties. Also on both days any drivers interested in the 2nd MRT seat for next season will be able to test in the M3. I can confirm that O'Lauchlan Motorsports will also be present at the test with their M2B on Saturday while Dean O'Lauchlan will test the M3 on Sunday.

- Before Pre-qualy-
Trueba to drop Roda?
Some recent rumors have declared that, due to latest disappointing results of Italian driver Giovanni Roda in these 4 races of the F1RWRS championship, coming-from-Marche Trueba Racing Team would be likely to drop him. Roda hasn't certainlty achieved remarkable performances: till from the beginning of 2012 F1RWRS season, there were 4 DNQs and only a placement in one race (16° position). "I admit that our latest races were not as satisfactory as we expected for our boys - has said Trueba's president, Giancarlo Scaglietti - due too to some defaillances of our cars. Now I would not doubt of my drivers; I am sure that Giovanni will do better and better in next races, while Jung has a solid reputation in the team, seen his talent and his performances. Surely we expected a more competitive Trueba".

Barii Mori wrote:Well glad that me and Phoenix were so high up on the time sheets in practice, hope we can continue this performance in qualifying and the race. The car did feel better esp at Eau Rouge. No I do not care about the tiny snail cup, just use it as a test session to test new parts...
