Yeah but if you think about it, which is worst, getting the tricolore wrong or playing borat instead of the national anthem of Kazakhstan in a country where borat was banned in the first place :D

Had to look up how young Nicolas Prost was these days - 31. What a 'young' driver.

Felip Massa's seat might not be safe...

Unless you define competitive as "being able to keep up with E.J. Viso", then probably not very. He was okay in NASCAR trucks but my word he crashed into a lot of people by driving way over his head.

Maybe, because you don't notice him as much because he isn't wrecking like a fool every other race like he used to.

Hearing that Jaime Alguersuari is going to be confirmed as a Force India driver sometime soon.

Could lead to Hulkenberg replacing Massa, and Massa replacing Perez?

Massa will retire if he gets sacked by Ferrari, but other than that I would believe this is possible

Ruuuumours that Reverend Maldolan's place at Williams might not be secure because of PDVSA sponsorship...so whichever one of di Resta or Hulkenberg is losing out to Alguersuari to Williams?

The question that must be asked is, without his PDVSA sponsorship, is he good enough to be in F1 on merit? I'd say no...

We are talking about the same Pastor Maldonado won won a race, right?

With a little bit of discipline, he could got a long way. With a lot of discipline, he could be a regular race winner.

Vitaly Petrov managed to turn himself around over the 2010-2011 summer break. I see no reason why Maldonado couldn't do the same.

Alguersuari is now following Force India (which means a lot considering it's pretty much the only F1-related thing that he's following aside from the official Twitter of the circuit of Catalunya). The guy who's making LosMinidrivers also seems to have attained some sort of confirmation on this from either Jaime himself (they're both Spanish) or Force India.

Hulkenberg is also now following Alonso.

Boom.

Maldonado takes funding to sauber, even with Telmex deal remaining extra money is always welcome, and Sauber has been a good ground for tempering rashness. Just look at Kobayashi's shift from 2009 - 2012

Asides from the two year contract he signed with Lotus, with most of the other top teams locking their drivers into long term contracts Lotus represents the best seat available to Kimi for next year.

IceG wrote:Heikki to Williams with Botas promoted to a drive - old Finn teaches young Finn.

I'd also like to see an article from a credible news outlet back that story up - whilst the promotion of Bottas wouldn't be surprising given that they've spent much of this year preparing him for the role, hiring Heikki would be a pretty surprising move given how dependent Williams have been on Maldonado's sponsorship from PDVSA.

Kobayashi deserves a drive with a decent team in F1 next year. Ferrari would be wise to give him a shot instead of the Hulk or Dario's cousin.

The latter two can continue to rot at Jordan for all I care.

Heikki and Bottas (with 2 x t - sorry): I was just putting it out there, no source.

But seriously, Heikki is wasted at Caterham, Senna is probably off due to performance and inconsistency, Maldonado is a liability. The standard 'old charger and young Turk (or Finn!)' combo could do something, especially if they don't threaten each other.

Sponsored by Nokia and Sampo Group, Aaro Vainio hired as test driver.

Actually, who will be test drivers for next season?

Ferrari - Davide Rigon
McLaren - Gary Paffett and Oliver Turvey
Red Bull - Sébastien Buemi
Mercedes - Sam Bird
Enstone -Jérôme d'Ambrosio
Sauber - Robin Frijns? (Rumoured for a race seat, maybe a year testing first?)
Williams - Susie Wolff and a younger driver (Bacheta if he impresses in test?)
Force India - Jules Bianchi (if he doesn't get promoted to a race seat), Luiz Razia? (2nd in GP2 this year, lots of money, was at the YDT for Force India), Christian Vietoris, Robert Wickens or Roberto Merhi (thanks to Mercedes link?)
Toro Rosso - Sébastien Buemi and Antonio Felix da Costa
HRT - Ma Qing Hua and Daniel Juncadella (Luis Perez-Sala's nephew)
Marussia - Max Chilton (if he doesn't get promoted to a race seat), Rio Haryanto (Carlin driver in GP2, tested at the YDT, Indonesian money)
Caterham - Giedo van der Garde (if he doesn't get promoted to a race seat) and Alexander Rossi

Frijns could be Sauber or Williams testdriver

Heeft overstappen Perez gevolgen voor Robin Frijns?

Admittedly the race seat thing is people putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 (Robin Frijns is a young driver testing for Sauber; Kimi Raikkonen was a young driver testing for Sauber; Kimi Raikkonen got a race seat; therefore Robin Frijns will get a race seat), but he seems pretty nailed on for a testing role at one of the F1 teams, most likely Sauber or Williams.
