People, forget about piratemetal and gipsymetal (just in case anyone was even considering those genres):
Yesterday i discovered the Japanese band Babymetal. A mixture between death metal and Japanese children pop music.

Yes, you read that right.
Some of you might already found out about this (especially the japanese members here, who are having this kind of weird things on daily basis), but if you are a true metalhead, this will be painful to watch.
If you're not, it's the most epic thing you''ll ever see. That until you discover something else from Japan that is probably even better.

That was depressing.

This is metal in Aisia done properly; Vassline. A new world awaits.

And that's why I'm not going to watch it. I might make a hole in my house.

Alternatively, this is metal in Asia done properly. From China:
Spring and Autumn - The Huntsman
Tengger Cavalry - Galloping Steeds (who are a lot less underground than they were a couple of years ago)

From India:
Wolf's Lair - Wolf's Lair

From Singapore:
Rudra - Hymns From The Blazing Chariot

And for a more Arabic take on it, try this from Bernie's favourite country, Bahrain:
Narjahanam - Symphoniyat Al Mowt (though apparently the real titles are given in Arabic script, which I can't read... nor can I post it here)

But there's nothing rejectful to that, so it doesn't fit in the rejects spirit. I'd prefer the childish metal thousand times over the real stuff, really... Yes, its blasphemy, deal with it.
The real metal is no match for my extreme short-attention span. Talking about short-attention span, if you ever get the chance to get a copy of the punk-rock compilation album 'short music for short people', don't hesitate! Was the best thing i ever bought (and i got it second hand, not exactly in good shape, but i still love to play it in my car)

Not quite Asian metal, but I love the band Mutyumu. They combine so many elements; metal, post-rock, classical, operatic. This is my favourite track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fXMsY3VomGE

A few things:

-First of all, just two days ago, Toots Thielemans, probably the greatest harmonica player of all time, retired from the music scene at age 91. Yes. 91.
-Secondly, this is a song that's getting major airplay over here and that I absolutely love despite the huge French accent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3hJYDGSXt4
-Thirdly and finally, I have just been reminded of the absolute epicness of this cover of a not very good song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE9IchvpOPk

This was part of a compilation album done by radio station Studio Brussel, where some popular artists were covering some famous songs. I can't quite remember who the other artists were and what the other songs were, though.

20 years today since The Charlatans released Up To Our Hips, their third album. Tim Burgess has set up a Twitter listening party for 7PM tonight, should be great fun.

It's quite sad that 2/5s of the band who played on this record are no longer with us. RIP Rob Collins and Jon Brookes.

YES! That show...back then I was too young and naive to understand just what a horrible human being Jim Davidson was, so I enjoyed the show quite.

Anyway, still we haven't reached the peak of best TV show theme...but we're about to.

Tim Burgess replied to my Tweet during the listening party.

I'm ever so slightly satisfied. :D

I quite like Haim. But I know that sounds like me trying to be a trendy groovy Dad as they're half my age. Perhaps I should stick to my usuals like Pop Will Eat Itself, Metallica and New Order....

Well, if you're referring to something actually from the 1980s, then I'm addicted to this right now.

Its with great sadness that Im here to report the end of Chris "Coldplay" Martins and Gwyneth "Head In A Box" Paltrows marriage after ten years.

Im sad because it means there are literally no limits to how dismal, sad and drippy the next Coldplay album will be now he has all this to inspire him :(

I'm sure people are sick to the back teeth of my John Frusciante fan-ness, but he's done something seriously awesome for his new album.

In short, a team of satellite engineers have sent a Cube Satellite into space, and have linked it to a phone app. Whilst it hovers over various locations, people with the Android/iPhone app in that area will be able to stream the album since the satellite "unlocks" the tracks. This will end on the 7th April, when the physical album will be released.

...I thought it was cool...

Kasabian announced as a Glastonbury headliner. I'm certainly not envious of anyone going to Glasto, oh no no no. What gave you that impression?...

Plots way of getting Ataxia drunk enough so that he gives his Glasto ticket to me

Get your mitts off! What a lineup!

We've got Kodaline, Foster the People, Chvrches, Arcade Fire and Warpaint too, so I'm delighted with that.

I've think I must have played this about 100 times in March...top track.

Are you messing with me? Tiesto's got a whole back catalogue better than this mediocrity! Adagio For Strings...a class above this. Even his recent remix of All of Me is better than this!

Nevermind just edges In Utero as my favourite album, but Heart Shaped Box is easily my favourite song of theirs.

This remains, in my opinion, the greatest Belgian song this side of Jacques Brel.
