Whincup's car is also now the most successful individual car in ATCC history. Admittedly the previous holder was Ambrose's BA...
Oh, and Ingall made his 500th race start. But no one cares about that, sadly.

Jim Beam to end title sponsorship at DJROh and Tomas Mezera's decided that the Australian Seniors PGA tournament is more important than Winton so someone else will be filling in as the Drivers Standards' Observer for next weekend.

Bout bloody time something happened to him.
In all seriousness though, I wonder what the guy who runs Monster meant when he said this:
Before bringing the proceeding, we suggested a live-and-let-live approach so that Jamie can continue to represent us and at the same time drive for Triple Eight. That suggestion was rejected.
Does that mean if Monster wins the court case, Whincup will have to give up his race seat at T8? Suddenly, the V8 Off-Season just got a whole lot more interesting.

By the way, I went onto the internet the other day and found
all three races of the 2007 Round at Oran Park. There's also several of the reverse grid races from 2006, a significant number of races from 1997-2003, all the Bathurst 1000s since 2008 plus the 2000 and 2002 editions of the Great Race, and all the V8 races from 2012 on Youtube. Thank HWNSNBM for the internet.

DJR undergo restructuringAnd not a moment too soon in my opinion. What really interests me though is just where they're getting this third REC from because Schwerkolt's on his way to FPR, Paul Morris is looking increasingly likely to be switching back to Holden at the Triple 8 B-Team, and AVESCO have a crapload of RECs which they very rarely give out to anyone at the best of times anymore.

So, how many restructures is that? And yet Jnr will still have a drive... I'm guessing they're betting on Morris sticking around, even though they'd be better off sticking to two at the moment.
And Tekno are T8's B-team. LDM are the C-team

Far out. The sooner Monster win that court case and Whincup gets dragged kicking and screaming all the way to Tekno next ear, the better off all of us will be.

I was more worried about the fact that despite HRT, GRM, BJR, Tekno and SBR all deserving of race wins, DJR aren't and yet came way too close. With their worst placed car!

To be fair, Moffat drove probably the best race of his career this afternoon. If you ignore the botch-job on Bright on Lap 1 and his pathetic attempt at taking out Whincup early on in the race

When Premat did crap, he spent most of his time getting punted off the road. As soon as starts to fight in the top 10 he assists two drivers into the grass

It's a sad indication of just how far ahead T8 are of everyone else where even after a drive through, JDub's now just five laps away from the title. With one round still to run.
The last time this happened was about 2004 and even that I'm not sure about

Well I guess that's a consolation. Although I'd rather have Lowndes dominate everything as a sort of last hurrah with T8.

I remember that FPR were pinged for wheel spinning at Bathurst, and that Tim Edwards complained about it... but if anyone is going to whinge about the officialdom in V8 Supercars (quite rightly so at times, they're extremely inconsistent), it's usually Dane (though I doubt he'll do so now given that Whincup has won the cup).
OK Kostas, you've won the avatar bet, time to unveil the avatar that I shall use for a month of embarrassment (or a month of hilarious joy for all of the Holden fans here).

For those of you who are still interested, in our alternative universe, the Giz heads into the final round with 3109 points, just nine points ahead of Tim Slade in second. Garth Tander is still mathematically in contention at 2914 but he'll need misfortune from the two lead SBR drivers to have a real chance at the title.

Even after losing the bet with kostas, I'm still crazy enough to enter into an avatar bet. At least in this one I might 'just' get a Nissan avatar

I'm looking forward to Homebush. Not because it'll be an "interesting" event, not because GRM have a decent chance at a podium, but because we have a four-way fight for the DVS championship!

I don't think it'll be down to the car so much as the simple fact that Stone Brothers is simply a much better team than Kelly Racing will ever be.

Although if the Stones are starting to wind down a bit, and The Giz leaves, it could be quite interesting.
On a related note,
the Kellys have confirmed that Reindler and Murph are gone. One bit annoys me: if they had been "valued members of the team", then maybe they should have given them half-decent cars.

And it's not as if Blanchard's doing anything with the relatively new VE either. Should have give it to Murph to wring the neck out of in my opinion.

It's a damn shame too because he was looking like he was heading to much bigger and better things in the future, especially off the back of his driving in the last few years.
That being said, Slade has done an incredible job this year as well and would be more than able to lead the SBR charge next year. Question is, where does that leave James Rosenberg as his merry men...
