I know this has been mentioned in the new teams thread, but my word, this team has potential reject stardom all over it. Even the name sounds beautifully Rejectful. Alas, I doubt it'll ever get off the ground...

This will go about as far as Formula Superfund. The organisers of European Formula 3000 had a sponsorship deal, naming the series Superfund Euro 3000 in 2004, unless I'm very much mistaken. The series was due to replace the Lola F3000 cars with their own SF01 chassis and engine package. The car was to be powered by a 4 liter Judd V10 allegedly worth some 700 hp. The car was tested and demonstrated at the Nurburgring by none other than Karl Wendlinger but the series never eventuated in 2005.

...is it sad I find this thing a much finer car compared to the actual F1 designs this season?...

I'm doubtful they'll make the grid. To me, Prodrive, Campos Meta 1, Lola and Team US-F1 all have stronger packages.

That front wing has a weird look to it, especially the back half. Maybe it's the perspective.

Look at the sponsor on the airbox. I never noticed this before.

Maybe Team Superfund if their application is accepted will bring back HWNSNBM

Superfund Minardi would make sense for so many reasons:

Minardi could retake its name on Toro Rosso

Red Bull could sell STR to an Austrian, so they win there

Plus, who doesn't love Minardi espresso?

Superfund-Minardi won't happen. The reports make no mention of Paul Stoddart, who actually intends to submit his own entry for 2010.

Being a former Minardi sponsor, having Alexander Wurz as team principal, and an association with a UK based team that already exists, most likely to be Brawn (as a Brawn B-Team, they would be the successors of Super Aguri wouldn't they?), surely they have secured all the support of the f1rejects.com community that they can get.

My predictions of their driver lineup:

Superfund starts with Super, so they need an ex-Super Aguri driver. Yuji Ide seems to be the only one who isn't testing.
Superfund has Minardi sponsorship, so HWNSBM seems suitable. Their test driver has to be a driver who brings funds, so Jean Denis Deletraz is also suitable. All done! I am calling Alex Wurz now.

Superfund hardly splashed out that much cash when they sponsored Minardi, and weren't they also meant to be creating some kind of one make series a few years ago that never got off the ground?

I don't see their entry as being that serious, and I feel that it will struggle to make the final cut when you consider some of the other entries it is up against.

Considering their name implies endless oodles of cash I find that to be disappointing.

Well, if anything, at least they would have a good colour scheme...

Whoa, really? I haven't heard anything of that. He'll probably lose out again, and make it public after FIA publish the entry list.

What?! Hasn't he had enough?! I mean, most people have had enough of him.

Seriously, an investment fund isn't the happiest of businesses nowadays. I don't really understand what these guys are all about; can't understand why they would splash out in such a venture. No, this is silly and makes no sense at all. Poor old Alex Wurz is making a fool of himself by being the front man of such a bogus operation.

I wonder if all these silly teams that have cropped up aren't being somehow propped up by the FIA, in order to pressure the presently competing teams, threatening there won't be places for all - a bluff. Williams and Force 1ndia have given in, but I'm wondering what will happen if the remaining 8 players call that bluff.

Indeed, something very strange is going on.

The more I think about it, Team Superfund seems like Team Publicity Stunt. But this one is not the only one.
