Singapore GP race review

Post by eytl »

Hi everyone,

Better late than never. I came back from Singapore last week and instantly fell sick, and only this week started dragging myself out of the sick bed ... with a backlog of stuff to do!

But here are my comments on the Singapore race, including a trackside perspective on what Singapore represents in this day and age of F1, and also a most unpopular ROTR decision - again influenced by having watched the said recipient live!

http://www.f1rejects.com/centrale/2010/singapore/index.html

Cheers,
Enoch

One of your best reviews, Enoch, and brave ROTR decision. Thank you!

And here I thought Heidfeld had been more erratic around the track than anyone else! Nonetheless, it goes without saying that the ROTR was fairly chosen, even if none of us wanted to admit it. Thanks for finally getting this up!

Like Rocks with Salt said (Your username sounds like a 60s rock band by the way  ) Kobayashi's ROTR was justified but I thought Sauber as a whole would get it. Anyways thanks for yet another great review... if only I had that much writing skills... then my work on the Murphy's Law section might actually be half decent.

Interestingly, I got the name when I was fishing in Alaska and heard it over the radio as the name of another small fishing ship in the area. I thought it sounded pretty clever and so I adopted it. To be honest, if I ever start a band, that is what I would name it.

About every great driver has had ROTR-worthy drives somewhere, so Kamui is in good company now.

Nice review, and sorry to hear that you were ill.

On further reflection, I would have given RotR to Sauber as a whole, for the driver swap, pit error (bringing out 3 option tyres and 1 prime), errors from both drivers over the weekend, bad strategy for Kamui, slow pace etc.

Am I the only one who doesn't think of Enoch as a loony? Kobayashi deserved ROTR.

I'm on your bandwagon. Maybe Senna was a better candidate, but Kobayashi is fitting.

My bandwagon outqualified Senna at the Singapore GP.

By 3/4 of a second, despite brushing the wall out of Turn 17.

For me, Bruno Senna was way more worthy of the ROTR. Yes, the Hispania must handle like crap, but still, we didn't see that wide array of spins and a ridiculous crash against a wrecked car from Klien.
