HRT vs Red Bull

Bear with me on this one...
I subscribe to EVO magazine in the UK. This month they have done a track test comparing a Porsche 911 GT2 RS with a Cayenne Turbo. The GT2 RS has 611bhp and weighs 1370kg, the Cayenne has a mere 493bhp and tips the scales at 2170kg (which is rougly the same weight as Nigel Mansell in the 95 McLaren).
So how does the relate to HRT vs Red Bull? Well, the GT2 RS lapped their test track in 1m19.9secs, the Cayenne was a full seven seconds slower, as you would expect. Today, in FP2 Narain Karthikeyan (in the fastest HRT) was almost expactly 7 seconds slower than Mark Webber over a similar lap time. Which begs the Jonathon Palmer memorial question - what are HRT doing?
