Sammy Jones declared tonight his official entry into the new F3RWRS feeder category, with his motorsport team Jones Racing. Finally ending speculation about whether Castrol would be involved or not, Sammy told reporters outside the team's base in Banbury, England that Castrol would merely be a 'minor backer' and that a title sponsor 'was unlikely to be found'. He was also able to announce the team's first driver, Englishman Terry Hawkin who would be driving the #7 JR-300 car. Terry brings with him some personal sponsorship in the form of lager brand San Miguel, for whom his father is reported to be a well-placed executive. Hawkin comes off the back of a very successful karting career and recently competed in British Formula Ford, winning a number of races. His new team boss Sammy Jones described Hawkin as 'a very promising future talent' and fully expects the young driver to hit the ground running immediately. On other drivers for the team, Sammy would only say that one other slot is currently available, and that he is willing to run a third car in the series should the number of entrants prove to be low.

MA-Racing: Looking to the future.

Mr.Alexander has been very vocal recently about the need for another feeder series, having narrowly missed out on entering a team in the F2RWRS, so with the brand new F3RWRS being formed, MA-Racing are straight in with their entry. Whilst drivers have yet to be decided, the team will use a renamed Dallara chassis. "This is a fantastic opportunity to give our reserve and youth drivers a chance to prove themselves, which will hopefully give them the necessary skill and confidence to move into the main series in the future. Once we have finalized our F1RWRS line-up, we will announce our F3RWRS line-up a few days later."

YET ANOTHER SPANISH EFFORT TO ENTER F3RWRS

Spanish press has announced by surprise that a second Spanish effort will join F3RWRS in its first season. It will an all-Spain team led by professional tuning expert Jon-Ander García -watch this to know who I´m talking about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqCbpb5bOcM&feature=related. They will use a home-made chassis. Rumours say that they´re founded by mystery energy drink "Locura" by Rives.



Drivers are to be announced soon, although El Jonan has made clear that they will be Spanish.

Well known F3 team ZimSport have signalled their entry into the inaugural F3RWRS season, running two Dallaras that they originally planned to enter in the British F3 season. Their drivers will be Ryan Zimmer in the #31, who is the son of team owner John Zimmer, and Carter Simpson in the #32, who is the cousin of F1 Champion Rhys Davies.

Well, I'll let you have Eric Swerts (22 years old), but I'll have the option to take him away to F2RWRS as soon as he's eligible. His experience amounts to a start in the 2011 REECCS Bathurst Enduro alongside Laurent Seron and competitive but inconsistent seasons in FRenault 2.0.

Due to a lack of drivers, I won't enter a team for this series.

Tomo Kazama (16) from Mogami, Japan: This young woman has not yet made much of an impact in professional motorsport. After carting until 15, Lon arranged a drive in the Austrian Formula 3 Cup with Jenichen Motorsport. She only finished seventh in the championship despite scoring three wins, two of which came in Spa, since she tends to drive extremely aggressive and lose points in unneeded spins or incidents. Lon told the media that she has all the talents needed to impress him. He believes Kazama can do good things in the new series.

Renaldo Jiménez (16) from La Maravilla, Tropico: It is widely known that Jiménez's family is not quite as popular with El Presidente as Alberto Cara's is. Rumours say that Jiménez was forced to enter racing in order to avoid his family, known as leaders of the capitalistic fraction of the island, being arrested. Neither Jiménez nor Lon were willing to say anything about these rumours. Lon just said that Renaldo, despite only having driven - although successfully - at different noticeable charity carting events and the soon-to-be Tropico Grand Prix F1RWRS car twice, is a capable driver and may even become a F1RWRS race winner in a few years.

Autosport has recently learnt that Sammy Jones has finalised a second driver for his F3RWRS team for the upcoming 2014 season. Belgian Eric Swerts will partner the already-signed Terry Hawkin at the Jones Racing team. Swerts will drive the #8 car and brings with him personal sponsorship from Quick and Jouets Broze. Team owner Sammy Jones had this to say about his most recent aquisition,

"Absolutely delighted that we could give young Eric a seat at the team, I have it on good knowledge that he'll be a very strong contender for this year, and I hope he'll gel with the team quickly, he already seems a very likeable character. Alongside Terry I think Jones Racing have two very exciting future prospects that people should keep an eye on. I think both will be in the F1RWRS before too long."

Jones also announced that his potential third slot, the #78 car, would in fact be cancelled, and that the team would focus on a two car effort for 2014 with a view to moving to three cars in 2015.

"We want to make sure we do things properly in our first year before making such a big commitment to the series" said Jones.

JLD Motorsport, as part of a collaboration with MRT, has today signed Tropican Renaldo Jiménez to drive in the new F3RWRS. The 16 year old will partner fellow teenager Antonio Reyna-Sanchez, the younger brother of former F1RWRS and current IndyCar driver Vidal Reyna-Sanchez. Both of them have added incentive to perform in 2014 as whoever does the better job may be in line to replace Mitchell Macklin in the F2RWRS should he move up to MRT's F1RWRS team in 2014.

PPR offer drive to Kazama

The Pemberton Prospec Racing F3RWRS team have offered a race drive to Japanese driver Tomo Kazama. Although he was keen to stress that no deal had yet been signed, a spokesman for PPR said that Kazama was "a real talent with plenty of raw speed and an aggressive style which should complement our number 1 driver Michael Cameron very well." The spokesman went on to say that the team were looking forward to working with Kazama's mentor Kay Lon, who he described as 'a towering figure in the world of F1RWRS', and that they hoped the 16-year-old from Mogami would prove to be 'more banzai than bonsai'.

In other news, the team has also confirmed its use of the numbers 37 and 38 for the upcoming season.
