Grand Prix Rejects

Right, I've had enough of this guessing game about drivers, who will be over the limit, etc, etc. I appreciate dr-baker created a similar thread in the past, but we need a simple, easy to read list in the first post of the thread so it's easy for everyone, including Aerond, to know where we are all at.

Therefore, I need members who are participating in any of the RWRS series (F1RWRS, F2RWRS or F3RWRS) to post their drivers in these series. You can add on any additional drivers in RWRS canon series or others too, but they won't be included in this list. This is for two reasons. Firstly because the list would be far too long, and secondly it makes it far easier to work out who is at the driver limit for the RWRS series this way. Thus, this thread is solely to allow an easy calculation of members' driver limits, which will be a maximum of five drivers across the three aforementioned series.

So, form an orderly queue, and give me the list of drivers under your control in F1, F2 and F3RWRS, that you'll be entering into the 2016 season. As the rules state, you may have a maximum of 5 drivers in all three series, and no more.

If you see your name in red, or god forbid, not even here at all, then hurry up and post your drivers asap! It means you're drivers haven't been confirmed for 2016 and we need that to make sure the driver cap is being adhered to. If Stramala can somehow manage to stay within it, you can too!

Yeah, except more than half the drivers are missing, only 4 or 5 of us regularly update the wiki, and some members don't even check it. It's far easier for those who don't to just give us a heads up and make it all a bit simpler. Look how long it's taken Phoenix to work out which drivers he can and can't keep. I'm somebody who does not check the wiki, hence why I tried the previous thread, but this is clearer, it just needs to be made sticky maybe.

Exactly, thank you for confirming my point dr-baker. If need be, seeing as our beloved mods seemingly have no idea how to sticky threads, I'll give this a bump every so often and update it accordingly. The hard part is this initial bit, getting everyone's drivers together. Once we have that it becomes much easier to keep track of changes, etc.

If one wants to check the news and results of Formula One, doesn't one check an external website? If you don't check the wiki, it's your own loss. It's like saying people shouldn't be made to go outside their own home to get food. It's two clicks away, why be so lazy not to check it for information should you require it rather than be spoon fed it

Dude, don't be a prick for the sake of it, there could be a whole load of reasons why many of the people who are active in the series don't edit or access the wiki. Just because we do, it doesn't make it the only legitimate source of information, and the only one we should stick to. The best place to have this sort of information is here because this is ultimately where the action happens, the wiki is a side project that helps with organisation, but requires the contribution of members to make it properly work, hence why the driver contracts page is missing so many drivers.

All you need to do is post which drivers will be under your control for 2015 in the three main series and you can go off and forget this thread ever existed!

As a reference point, who often checks or edits the wiki? I know I do

There are around 20-30 regular contributors, but I'd say a core of maybe 10-15 who will edit at least one page every few days or so. Often people simply don't have time for it, or are intimidated by the wiki code, or whatever. Regardless of the reason, it's completely clear that some members don't use it, and as far as I'm concerned that's fine. People should be allowed to do what they want to do, so for matters such as this, where we're just ensuring that everyone meets the requirements for the upcoming season, it's important to do it somewhere where everyone can access it.

Kostas has actually got a valid point. I mean, most of the stuff on there is mostly out of interest but I personally believe that EVERY person that wants to be in the F1RWRS in any capacity should at least read and have a basic understanding of the regulations on the wiki first. And probably the driver contracts page as well once we finish it. And I'm not saying it just because I'm one of the admins there.

I agree about that, the regulations are probably the most important part of the wiki, but that can be covered with a simple link when the new season starts to make it clear to everyone. But you can't expect most people to make much use of the current driver contracts page because, as we can demonstrate on this page now, my previous estimation of it being half-done was miles out. It's probably only covering about a third of the current drivers in all three series.

EDIT: Of all the members who have now posted their confirmed drivers, I think we're missing Kostas, DanielPT, The Lukas, Aerond, This, and Tristan1117. So that's almost all now, and of those remaining, apart from Kostas, I don't think any are close to the 5 driver limit. Any of these members, or others I may have missed (sorry!) go ahead and announce your drivers please!

From memory, Lukas owns Tomislaw Tajner (F1RWRS), Both Dofasco F2RWRS drivers (Alexey Buyvolov and Wojciech Cieslar) and I think at least one of the Dofasco F3RWRS drivers (Probably Iulian Pitea)

This owns both the Lamberigts and I think that's about it.

Regarding the wiki, I read it fairly often but rarely edit it because I don't understand wikiformatting.

A quick bump for those who are a little confused as to who owns what, and if any members need to edit their drivers in control. Thought it'll be handy for Aerond and eeyone else, what with the recent changes to testing.

I have now reached my 5 driver limit, with Franc Piscine (SUI) and Marcos Marcia (SPA) now racing in the F3RWRS. Marcia may get the sack soon though, as Plus One has plenty of other talent and he didn't impress in the first test.
