Jarno Trulli to NASCAR as well?

Jarno Trulli and Mika Salo to test for Michael Waltrip Racing.
Filled with some moronic comments at the bottom of the page (well, it's FOX, what more should I expect, really...)... my favorite of which being...
In my opinion what has made a mess of Open Wheel Racing (Indy) besides that A-Hole Roger Penske, is the large influx of forein drivers. I watched and attended the Indy 500 for many years. I did not this year nor will I ever again. First the drivers could not pass each other, They rent their engines, All the cars are really the same.
Where are the american drivers????????
The same thing is happening with NASCAR. Forien Drivers, Cars are the same... I have really started to enjoy NASCAR, however they are headed the same direction as Open Wheel!
I watched an World of Outlaw race this last weekend....Probably the best racing I have seen in a Long Long Long time!
What has happened to American Racing???????????????????????
To answer said idiot's question: Merit, not inherit. Someone's undies are in a bunch because the best American in open wheel racing is Danica Patrick... anyway...
Back to talking about Trulli possibly going to NASCAR... this is not quite as left field as it sounds, as Jarno Trulli has admitted to watching all the races, and during a race at Michigan last year, paid Juan Pablo Montoya and Scott Speed a visit.

I want to see which F1 driver past or present would next head to V8 Supercars in Australia.

They'd be beaten to a pulp. Have you seen the racing in places like Hidden Valley or, dare I say this, Bathurst? You go around complaining the track is bumpy in turn 3 or that you can't get heat into the tyres, and they'll just eat you alive. Not to mention the fans...

Well, then let's see ... Trulli, Montoya, Salo, Piquet Jr ... perhaps, NASCAR will be the true Grand Prix Masters. Where's Nigel?

I'll sit through a race when I read the headline "Kimi Raikkonen to NASCAR in 2010!"

I miss the days when a career ended and sports cars or touring cars became the retirement home for F1 drivers.

Digging this thread from the grave because...
...Trulli is still leaving the option open.
I think it'll be hilarious to see LarryMac and the NASCAR commentators try and pronounce Jarno Trulli's name. It'll also be hilarious to see the Trulli train in NASCAR and see how some of the NASCAR drivers with the infamous bump and run handle that.

A Trulli Train would actually make NASCAR even more boring and bunched up than it already is.

Well, yeah, when you have a ridiculous "Car of Tomorrow" piece of S*** that makes passing difficult on tracks that were already boring anyway, circuits that provide superdull racing with anything NOT an Indycar, and a driver that is notorious for holding up other cars to create a big stackup... yes, it will make NASCAR more boring.
Unless David Ragan is the car behind Trulli, because that will result in Trulli getting punted into the fence just because David Ragan is an idiot.
My How To Fix NASCAR: Divide the calendar. Half road courses, half ovals (but make sure these are mostly short tracks) -- like CART in the 90s, and it'll be just as awesome to watch.

Likewise. Although, if Kimi gets bored of F1, then you can only imagine how bored he'd get in NASCAR. atleast in F1 you can spend your time watching the scenery and you actually need to turn right every now and then

On the other hand, seeing as Kimi would only have to do Left, Left, Left, Left for about 250 times he can easily sleep and dream about being drunk and let muscle memory do its stuff, and after the race...
Reporter: "Wow, amazing race, Mr. Ray-Cannon. You just won the Food City 250 race."
*Räikkönen, still half-asleep, doesn't respond until being poked by team chef Bob Jankins*
Räikkönen: "Yaaaaawn! ... I did?"
Reporter: "Oh yes, indeed. How do you feel after this amazing victory?"
Räikkönen: "It is nice."
Jankins facepalms and takes the interview from there, while the cameras catch Räikkönen going all :3 after getting a Magnum ice cream from his pit crew

Trulli in NASCAR would be the only way in hell I'd ever want David Stremme still racing. He has a surprising talent for precisely taking other drivers out of the race.

Doing a schedule with half the races at road courses and half ovals would be a great idea. Also getting rid of the piece of crap formally known as the COT would be a great idea. Only problem is NASCAR dosen't listen to the fans or drivers anymore since they think everything is perfectly fine
![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
. Honestly I'm not taking it that seriously because i think Jarno would be a backmarker and battle with F1 Reject Max Papis for 39th if he gets to cup. And if Jarno dosen't want to get wrecked he needs to stay away from Brad Kesalowski more than from David Ragan.

And coincidentally Keselowski is replacing Stremme in the #12 next year...those two would make Andrea de Crasheris proud!

Keselowski wrecks a lot because he is very aggressive, Stremme, Ragan, and Townley all wreck a lot because of a lack of talent.

I wouldn't drag demolition derbies to that level. NASCAR is automobile wrestling. People come for the big collision and discuss it over beer.

I suppose the difference is crap cars crashing at 40mph against expensive cars crashing at 150mph.

I never saw NASCAR as somewhere where drivers paid some attention to bring down other competitors. I always thought accidents were somewhat casual, but perhaps I'm a bit naive...

I'd love to see anyone from NASCAR try V8 Supercars. I've just discovered V8 Supercars again since SPEED stopped showing it (along with WRC and anything else worth watching) and ít's just like NASCAR except
a.) no whining
b.) no convenient safety cars
c.) passing
d.) not utter crap
e.) entertaining
f.) the coverage isn't absolute garbage

I'm sorry to burst the bubble, but according to a local news-paper(I don't know where they got their source) the Trulli train is going to Lotus. I really hope that this is just another rumor, because I really believe that NASCAR is the place where he should go...

What happened to Brazilian stock cars being the unofficial retirement home for F1 drivers? Or is that just for F1 rejects?
I think if Enoch and Jamie put a word in for them an exception could be made to let Piquet and Trulli in.

From the little I saw of V8 Supercars before SPEED dropped it, there was tons of whining and plenty of convenient safety cars. Plus, NASCAR didn't used to be utter crap, unentertaining, etc. Now you may have a point...

Ok, well there is probably no form of motorsport free of whining, but it's a level far, far below that of NASCAR. I agree NASCAR used to be not crap, in the early 90's when the cars were not what they are today. 1993-ish?
Then again, the same could be said for many forms of motorsport, passing-wise I suppose. I think to improve cost saving and entertainment, NASCAR should mandate all cars are made from showroom stock cars again.
