121230 Season Review Edition

Post by Kuwashima »

Dear all,

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas, happy holiday period, and a great New Year.

As if to undercut those wishes, however, we have released our latest exercise in audible humbuggery - a new podcast :D

Featuring everything you would expect from an F1 Rejects season review: Margie Lane, our one word driver review, awesome Xmas muzak, and a abominable misappropriation of a Christmas classic for our own purposes.

Bonus: the reject podium for 2012!

Hope you enjoy it. Hope you disagree with it. Hope you will continue to tune in to future episodes. Post bouquets and brickbats below.

Cheers,
Jamie

Can I post the ROTY podium spoilers?

It is:

3. Romain Grosjean
2. Narain Karthikeyan
1. Caterham

:) (Now sightly hidden due to complaints)

After listening, I'm now pretty sure that Tony Shelly is the New Zealander in question.

No!

Great podcast, sucks that these are not more regular, but you obviously have other things to do so I understand. Loved the song at the end by the way.

You are very lucky I've already listened to it. Can you either get rid of it or make it a colour you can't see?

I love how he asked for permission to post the ROTY podium, yet did it anyway in the same post...

Thanks for yet another great new F1 Rejects podcast. It's been a helluva year for those on the reject podium. To be honest, after reading the season review, I had expected Narain to run away with the award, but surprise surprise, he didn't.

Instead, Tony Fernandes ran away. Now what happened to that flight with stewardess Mr Branson on board?

According to a Tweet that Tony Fernandes put out on the 18th December, it is currently scheduled for May 2013 - it's a couple of years later than originally promised, but Fernandes has said that Branson got in touch with him on his own initiative and has agreed to honour the bet.

Great podcast! FMecha spoiled the reject podium for me, but that wasn't such a big loss. Still, what the hell man.

Hmmm. Glad I waited to listen to the podcast (in the car on the way back to uni - these essays won't write themselves, y'know) before reading this thread...

^Mecha's law is about my impatience, sir. ;)

I also got spoiled once, actually - I ended up stopping watching Kamen Rider Ryuki because I read too much subber's forum - that contains too many spoilers. Damn.

I have a brainfade of forgetting to cover-up the spoilers when I posted that, so, no. :| I'll obfuscate it.

It's still preferable to non-hidden spoilers.

Back to topic, the part of song for Kamui looks good - I like that. 8-)

Good job on the vocals to 'God rest ye merry Gentlemen'.
But I've never heard a better version than Dio's one (rip). I have probably listened to his version more than thirty times through the years, no joke.
His voice just got better with time:

A great show guys!

Glad to hear that you plan a few more podcasts next season. If it is a Vettel bore fest as predicted then I will need them to keep me semi-sane...
