Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - 2013 Korea

based on the assumption that, at any moment in time, there is a non-zero probability that even the slowest, most inexperienced and least reliable of underdogs might win the race. That under every rock, there might be a gold nugget. This is the award for that first podium that we all celebrate, for the overtake no-one was expecting, for Charles Pic's first win. This is the award, in short, for the driver or team that makes you go "Woah! Where did THAT come from?!".

Just remember: this is a feel-good award, that will focus on nothing but track action.
Usual rules: everyone gets two votes. First vote is worth 10 points, the second 6.

Post your results until 11th

My nomination:
1. JEEP
2. Maldonado

2. Hulkenberg - The fact he doesn't have a Ferrari drive next year is an absolute travesty

1. The Jeep - Did a Markus Winkelhock and led it on its debut.

2. Nico Hulkenberg - It will be criminal if he doesn't get the Lotus seat for next season, if he keeps pulling out performances like this...

I'd also like to give a special mention to the Korean fans for not booing Vettel.

Sorry guys, yes the jeep was a great moment but this award has to go single-handedly to Nico Hulkenberg.

True

1 Sauber: Not just Hulk but Guti was only 0.8 off a point and may well get it if Perez is penalised
2 Romain Grosjean: He might just have done enough to stay with this perormance today

HM
The Jeep: A real feel good moment

All my points to Hulk, though I loved the Winklehock style fire-car, wonderful moment.

1. Nico Hülkenberg: With races like this, he definitely deserves a better car next year. Brilliant all weekend.
2. Lotus F1 Team: Considering their recent struggles, second and third from third and ninth on the grid is a great result.

Has to be Hulkenberg. Some of the best driving I've seen in a very long time.

You mean to say there were actual fans there? Fans? At the Korean Grand Prix? Don't be ridiculous :P

1st- The Hulk
2nd- The Jeep

1. Grosjean
2. Sauber

I'm not nominating Hulkenberg because it's not surprising to me anymore. That is unless he scores a podium.

1.-Nico Hulkenberg: He fend off two pure-racing world champions in a car with 70% less development (in terms of money) with one of the greatest defensive (and offensive) drives of the last 10 years
2.-Lotus-Renault: Moving in silence to be the real Vettel-chasers, and battling between themselves for position. Now, that's a team that returns to what racing really is.

Honorable mentions to Latino Heat (The Reverend, Checo, Guti-Pass and Massa wrestling midfield was awesome), The Jeep ("eat your shorts, Vettel, I lead my first GP!") and Korea in general for not being the snorefest that we all feared

The Clash of the Titans Award goes to Nico Huklkenberg for the recovery-overtake against Hamilton. A difficult one, because it could've been Massa's dual overtake in the Latino Heat, but The Hulk not only recovered his place after the attack of Ham, he make it so easy that the Merc guys shoud be ashamed of a dog of a car

1) The Jeep: At least Vettel didn't pull an Alex Wurz on it, and it made me laugh.
2) Grosjean: Proves he can stick to Raikkonen

1) Hulkenberg

2) Um....Pic! (he kept his nose clean, unlike all the other back-markers, it seems!)

All 4 young team drivers sped under yellows behind the SC but Pic and Bianchi got 10 place grid penalties as it was their 3rd offence

Did he? Oh.

I'll give my second vote to Bottas then - we witnessed him actually overtake someone!

If you were somewhat cynical about it, though, it could be suggested that the reason why Lotus were happy to let those two drivers fight it out was because Kimi was ahead of Grosjean, not the other way around.

Now, in terms of nominees I think that I'll probably go with the same earlier suggestions of Hulkenberg and Grosjean - the former for managing to resist considerable pressure from two other drivers (though it must be said that his sheer straight line speed - given the way he could drive past Hamilton with ease on the back straight when he passed him - helped quite a lot), and the latter for being able to put in a very strong performance after a difficult run of form in the previous races.

1. HÜLK SMASH!
2. The race itself - although the battle for the first position was pretty much over after lap 1, we saw a great deal of battles elsewhere. Not to mention some of the hilariously rejectful moments.

Once again this year- races that are seen as EPIC are usually dud's (Belgium Canada Spain (slightly less) while more hated tracks are seen as the better races this year

Gives me great hope for India

Abu Dhabi was exciting last year as well. By this logic Brazil will be a "snorefest" then

I think Japan will be semi-exciting with Vettel winning, then India is a traditional snorathon with Vettel fittingly sealing the title there. Everyone will say he will win all of the last 3 races, but in Abu Dhabi there will be another thriller, possibly one of the Mercedes drivers or Grosjean winning. After another good race in the US, people will change their minds and say Brazil will also be exciting, only for Vettel to score another Grand Slam there (when was the last time someone took back-to-back Grand Slams?) with an uncharacteristically boring race at Interlagos.
